Started off strong in S1 and then... yeah...
I had high hopes for season two, mainly due to the fact that many LN readers hyped it up, but the hopes quickly died two episodes in. I like the overall concept of the anime and how it touches on sociological concepts (+other concepts). It's the main reason I kept watching... but what frustrates me is the petty teenage drama. I understand that the author is trying to use these situations to explain these (sociological) concepts but it can be annoying. Another thing is how some things are not so obvious. For example, I was a little
...
confused at Ayanokoji's actions in episode 12 (leaving details out bc spoilers). I thought it was just me so I went through the comment section looking for an explanation... turns out the episode left out details to the situation and that's why his actions didn't make sense or weren't as obvious. I guess this is more of an anime-only issue but it is still pestering. I've heard the light novel is a hundred times better because it goes into deeper detail than the anime so I might end up reading it some time soon... maybe I'll even rewatch the entire show.
-
I guess I shouldn't be too negative though, I'm still interested enough to watch season 3 so I'm not giving up on it that easily. Also, this was a nice weekly watch for the slow Summer season.
-
It is what it is though... I'll see y'all for S3. I'm hoping for the best!!
(Will write a review for the light novel if I ever get around to it soon)

Here I am, after just having finished the anime for the second time, writing this review.
-
I still love this show. In fact, I could say that I enjoyed it even more the second time around. I appreciated every. single. character and their story a lot more than I did when I first watched it. There's so many life lessons and raw human emotions thrown into every single one of them. They're relatable in so many ways it actually hurts. They reminded me of my high school years; hanging out with my friends, being carefree and the different emotions and drama we would all go through.
...
Not to mention, the big "If" moment that Miyamira goes through near the end... A feeling I too have experienced. It all feels so.. Human.
Everyone involved in this production did such a good job bringing this story to life along with the characters and their emotions. It's really hard for me to feel emotional after watching a piece of media, but these guys did it so well I nearly cried various time (I would have if I had been alone ngl).
The story was well put together but I did feel like they rushed some things. I know they were limited to 13 episodes so I can't blame them but I wish they had been able to put more into the characters and their stories instead of just a quick summary, especially for Miyamura's character and his and Hori's relationship. So many moments I can think of from the manga that would've been a great addition. But, again, it's not anyone's fault. They worked with what they had and they did a great job!
The animation was great; the colors, character design, their movements. No complaints at all.
Special shoutout to the music score AND the voice actors. They were phenomenal.

Highly recommend this anime if you're looking for a warm, cozy show (romance/slice of life). There are minor pacing issues but that shouldn't stop you from watching this fantastic show.

The best way I could define this show is "fun". There wasn't a heavy emphasis on a specific story until later episodes which was nice. The first few episodes are basically an introduction to the incoming story, the characters, and to build up their relationship(s).
I think that if you like detective shows of any kind you could enjoy this. It has some elements of surprise but it's possible that you can figure it out before they reveal anything haha. The characters are fun to watch, nothing super out of the ordinary and the world is just... normal.
HONESTLY. This is probably one of the
...
more tame anime's I've seen in a while which is probably why I enjoyed it.
So if you want something dealing with detectives, a bit of suspense in the story, and something that doesn't deal with supernatural entities, this is your show! Hope you enjoy!

I wasn't sure what to expect from Fruits Basket when I first started it. I knew nothing about it other than Tohru's name and that it is a lot of people's favorite slice of life/romance/shoujo anime.
I am very happy I went into it completely blind and had no idea what to expect! From the very first episode, Fruits Basket managed to make its way into my heart. I am not one to instantly like an anime based on the first episode (yes even my top three are included in this) but this anime managed to do that. It was 'love at first sight' per
...
say. Every episode only got better the more the series progressed-- my eyes were literally glued to the screen.
**minor implied spoilers ahead**
I loved the characters so much; each of them had their good and their bad and there was no such thing as a 'perfect' character (although we can certainly say that Tohru is certainly close LOL). They each struggled with their own trauma and guilt that they felt they couldn't move on with. They were all so 'human' and even though they had their faults, I was still able to accept them for who they were. I think the only characters I still struggle to really like were Akito and Shigure to a certain point (I know most of you can guess why I go back and forth with Akito but with Shigure, it's that he rubbed me the wrong way multiple times, even if he was funny). Regardless, all of the characters were so well written and unique to their own self. Their experiences were similar but no one character was the same and I think that is one of the great things about this anime.
The story was just as fantastic as the characters. While there were moments where you could guess where the story was going, it still kept me engaged; Diving deeper into the lives of the main characters AND the 'side characters' while also building on the story and moving it forward. One particular thing that I loved was the way the storyline was organized. I loved how the first season mainly focused on getting the audience attached to the characters and giving a small amount of information about their past, but just enough to still keep most of it in the dark. Season 2 focused on revealing a lot of the character's past with some of their secrets and then the final season wrapped up every question and secret in place. We were like a character in the anime, finding things out the more we got to know the characters. It was fun to experience it all.
The art/animation/overall production was fantastic. I had no problem with any of it and I think everyone who worked on it did a great job (especially since season two was released during the early days of the pandemic!).
Overall, Fruits Basket is a beautiful anime. It definitely surpassed my expectations and has made me question my top three favorite animes haha. I can admit that it has its faults (some predictability and the fact that some older characters were in love with younger characters, alongside other minor things) but I think it's a one-of-a-kind watch. This was the first series I ever watched an entire season of in a day. It has definitely earned its place in my top three favorite animes.

I started watching Love is War earlier this year, right before I found out that S3 was confirmed. This is the anime that broke me out of my anime slump so I was ecstatic to see it continue!
Every episode I watched also got progressively better and broke my expectations so I could not wait.

Season 3 was in no way a disappointment. From the characters to the story to the animation, it was absolutely amazing.
The story was fantastic and added even more depth to a lot of the characters that we grew to love in former seasons. It was hard for me to ever
...
get bored as I wanted to learn more about each character, even if they were not the main focus of the story. The plotline also progressed a lot more and got us closer and closer to the different goals we've been waiting for.
The comedy was on point, as always, and reminded me a lot of my teen years (much like the former seasons) LOL.
The animation/art/overall production was INSANE. I was absolutely flabbergasted at how WELL the studio took care of Love is War. I applaud them for putting it their all and making us, the viewers, more immersed. From 'paper' to 'animation', they absolutely killed it and I cannot thank them enough for that. I won't go into spoilers but some episodes that stood out to me specifically were episode 5 and episode 12/13!
Overall, if you're iffy about starting this series, don't be. It is very much worth it and by far one of the best romcoms I've seen. I highly doubt you would regret it.

Found this manga through the anime as I was too impatient to wait for the episodes to release (lol).

Love of Kill is a fun manga read, not to be taken too seriously... although you shouldn't underestimate it either! Definitely brings forth an interesting story (despite common tropes used) that makes you want to keep reading. The characters have common tropes as well but they still manage to capture your attention. Worth a read if you do not want an overly complicated story and some subtle romance... The art is amazing as well as the character designs. Everything is easy to follow and I have
...
no big complains... well, except for the fact that I wish they would release the chapters in English at a faster pace lol

Definitely give this manga a go if you're looking for a mystery-action-detective style story.

This anime started off pretty strong; three friends on a mission to reach New York and find a way for Takt and Destiny to be 'fixed'**. I loved how the story started off, how the characters were introduced, the fact that it was set in the States, and how the story/world focused on music! Everything about it seemed to be really unique and intriguing. Unfortunately, that did not last too long. The story started to falter mid-way. Everything started to go quickly, and it was not as fleshed out as it could have been. To make things worse, it turned out this anime was only
...
made as a 'trailer' for their mobile game. I really believe that if that had not been the case, this anime could have been something better. I am saddened at the thought of that. Overall, it was alright. I wish it had been more fleshed out-- as mentioned previously-- but it is what it is. On the positive side, we did get a good beginning and solid characters, as well as top notch animation, music score, and opening!
I don't know if I would recommend this to anyone... It's all personal preference, so just give it a shot if it catches your attention.

(**I can't exactly recall if that was the reason for them going to NY, its been a minute)

I did not think I would enjoy an art centered anime as much as I currently am. I love the fact that I have been following Yatora's journey as an artist since the beginning, and have been seeing his passion flow as he also struggles to find ways to overcome the insecurities that come with following that path. The one thing that I ESPECIALLY love about this show is that it is so 'raw'. Blue Period touches on tough subjects that many people deal with throughout their careers and/or life but are too embarrassed to talk about: the struggle to find who you are, imposter
...
syndrome, stress and its consequences, etc etc... It does a good job portraying those normal human struggles. Yes, the show mainly focuses on the stress behind making art and being an artist, but it is very human and I have been enjoying Blue Period because of that. It is not perfect but I do think it is worth a watch, especially if you are someone who deals with those insecurities and/or is an artist of any kind.
