IMO this is a great relationship dynamic between two fully adult men who are powerful in their own right, without unnecessary imbalances. I wish there had been more time to develop the virus-culling premise but it's definitely effective in giving the main characters their present day motivations as it stands. What stands out here is the expression of care and compassion between them - I can genuinely see a bond between two people forming that is more complex than sexual overwhelm - friendship, trust, partnership. These guys, Lil and Zane, are beautifully drawn as well. Handsome, mischievous, expressive, plenty of gravitas, and very fit. I
