Persona 3 the Movie 1: Spring of Birth

I've noticed a few similarities between these two entries when I started watching Ao no Exorcist. Both involve a long battle between otherworldly monsters and a special organisation of humans made to hunt and kill them. The main cast consists almost entirely of teenagers with special powers, who are also members of each series' respective special "organisations". Additionally, each entry's protagonist wields a sword for battle and has some kind of hidden power within them that makes them really powerful. However, one key difference between the two are the forms of storytelling; Ao no Exorcist is more light-hearted and filled occasionally with comedy elements (though it sure has its darker moments), while Persona 3 is mostly dark and contains some horrific gore scenes (although it can also be light-hearted and comedic at times). Not to mention the blue aesthetic both entries possess - though Ao no Exorcist's "blue aesthetic" comes mostly from Rin's blue flames, while for Persona 3, the colour blue is the entire theme of the series. Although I'd like to note that for a more complete understanding of the world of Persona 3 I'd highly recommend playing the original game, as the movies only serve as a kind of introduction to the story and don't provide the same kind of experience as the game does. The manga adaptation also works but I'd still suggest the game more.

Both series are set in a world where humans and monsters from another dimension co-exist. Both of the "monsters" of each respective series (demons in Ao no Exorcist & Crimson Denizens in SnS) feed on human souls, while there exists a special defence force of humans whose task is to hunt and kill them (Exorcists in Ao no Exorcist & Flame Hazes in SnS). Additionally, both series' protagonists are sword-wielding fire users, hot-headed and members of each series' "defence force".

Orange

Both series utilize the theme of time travel specifically for saving a loved one from dying sometime in the future. Although that happens differently for each show, both series retain mystery and drama elements; Erased chooses to include suspense and the overall atmosphere in general is heavier and darker, while Orange is a bit more light-hearted but still melancholic in its storytelling.

Black Clover

Black Clover is set in a fantasy world where magic is an essential part of people's daily lives. Magic guilds, sorcerers and various magic types are all elements that are shared among Fairy Tail and Black Clover. Both series retain a light-hearted, comedic tone that can become dark at times. The main cast are also very similar in terms of personality, but each one has their own goals and dreams to achieve, including each series's protagonist. While Fairy Tail's main focus is on the importance of friendship and bonds to face the hardships of life, Black Clover also emphasizes the fact that no matter your status, skills or abilities, you can achieve anything you want if you try hard enough. This series is highly recommended to Fairy Tail fans and also vice versa.
