I'll keep this review short and simple: The anime is mediocre at best. I think the manga is fantastic and is a much better experience, since you can read it at whatever pace you please, but the anime gets fairly episodic after a few episodes and, while I know these episodes impact the overall plot, they don't impact it enough and just feel drawn out. Also, there is some anime-only filler fanservice dedicated solely to showing Raphtalia's feeling towards Naofumi. Generally when watching a shounen action show, I struggle to get through it because it isn't very interesting. I have seen the first 100 episodes of Naruto before I dropped it, I watched halfway into the second season of MHA before dropping, and I am currently 100 episodes through One Piece and I am making very slow progress through it. But despite everyone saying that this show it a mish-mash of shounen action shows, it is the only one that continuously captures my attention.
