SLIGHT spoilers, nothing major.
After watching this from taking so long since it had bad reviews, I can finally see why everyone hates it, and it's not for good reason. Season One followed the exact same formula as season two and even had a similar level of gore and shock factor, it was practically the same story - minus one character.
I think the reason most people hate this season is because Kogami is gone. There, I said it. Everyone kind of got on their knees for him for some reason, but he didn't make OR break the show, he was merely a character there who
...
broke the rules a little. Was a season two necessary? Not really, but was it equally as good as season one? Yeah, since it's the same story just with another villain. The art style and animation was consistent just like season one, the team was as enjoyable to watch as season one (except for one SERIOUSLY annoying character), and Sibyl was just as corrupt as season one.
The only thing that I can see that would give people reason to hate on season two is actually Sibyl. The system had someone in the group who went against what Sibyl as a collective believed in but was SELECTED to run the case? Uh, ok.
Overall, this is just as good as season one if you stop inserting yourself up Kogamis backside, it's enjoyable.

This anime is VERY niche, it needs to fit your tastes both musically and in the genre that it is.
For me, I'm seriously enjoying Fukumenkei Noise as is, Nino has a voice that you either love or hate, and for me, I love it. In NO Hurry To Rush are an alternative band, and I love the music sequences, they're enjoyable. The story is a cliche in every sense of the word, but it's enjoyable if you like a cliche and like a love triangle. The art style isn't usually up my alley, but I think that the studio did a great job with it.
...
if you like listening to alternative music, if you like teenage drama and if you're into a good love triangle, this is definitely for you.

Having read the manga first, I knew what I was getting myself into when I decided to watch Kuzu no Honkai. I picked the manga up out of interest after hearing about it online, and then I heard it was getting an anime. I may as well have not read the manga, because the anime followed it perfectly, obviously conversations were cut short but everything that was supposed to happen, happened. That's my main slice of praise for KNH.
As far as characters goes, these are the realest and most interesting characters that I've seen in a romance anime in a long time. Everything was
...
raw and real, I could relate to how the characters were feeling because the very true emotions of jealousy and lust were conveyed so well, there was none of that typical BS where there's a complicated love triangle and a protagonist constantly crying because she doesn't understand her feelings, because Hanabi understood how she felt very well, only she went about her feelings in a roundabout way with Mugi as her substitute for who she really was in love with, but he was doing the same thing to her so they both felt like it was okay - and I can honestly see this happening in real life, because it does happen.
The soundtrack for this anime is impeccable, and I'm still waiting for the OST to get an official release because I loved it that much, there's a recurring theme song throughout the entire anime, it was dubbed "Scums Theme" on YouTube by AniPiano, but the song does such a good job of setting the tone of the intensity of how these characters are feeling, and how passionate their emotions are.
The story is pretty simple, but it's the characters complexity and depth that makes this an interesting watch. Every character knows their flaws, and it doesn't get sugar coated or skimmed over.
The artwork and art style of this anime is pretty refreshing to me, out of all the shows I've seen, I haven't seen one that actually has panels that look directly out of the manga every now and then, and the actual art used in this anime, it's like a watercolour painting, is very pleasant to look at.
I watched this anime weekly, but I will definitely rewatch it at some point because it has that value to it.
I highly recommend Kuzu no Honkai for anyone looking for a romance that doesn't feel cliche, and has an awesome OST.

This is an anime that takes out every single generic sports anime aspect and jumbles it into one show. I've seen this done before with other genres of anime and it never works. The protagonist absolutely sucks at the game, and his teammates rely on his...cheering? What is this? It's like the protagonist belongs in Cheer Danshi.
Then you have the captain with the Hinata Shoyou like traits (confusing lingo with his teammates) and the character holding the team together because he's the "best."
Seriously, this show is decent at best. I'm watching it out of just being a completionist at this point. 10 episodes
...
in and there's nothing unique or admirable about this show. I'm hoping and hoping every episode that SOMETHING happens, but it's the same format throughout every single episode.
Team starts failing, protag cheers them, they all do their best and have their harem speeches, then someone goofs up and protag goes in the game, goofs up also and everyone gets...motivated.
Overall, I gave this a 3 because honestly, I struggled to enjoy it and it was just the same thing every episode. When the protagonist finally scores a goal, there's about five episodes left. I'm definitely not going to be watching season 2.

This is definitely the kind of anime where you either love it or hate it. The other reviews on here definitely show that. Personally, I loved it.
The story is pretty unique, I personally haven't seen another anime where people are given the option to become God through a fight to the death in this way, and I thoroughly enjoyed every episode.
The protagonist is often referred to as useless, but this is something that I like about Yuki. He's the type of character who would react the same way any sane human in the real would would react to this scenario, and he's only fourteen or
...
fifteen, he's not meant to be able to face adults the way he's forced to.
The only thing I dislike about this anime is a very nsfw scene towards the end of the show, since Yuki is only fourteen, and I am eighteen, I did feel uncomfortable watching this particular scene, but other than that there's not really any scenes in the show where I felt that level of discomfort.
I also really like the art style used in this anime, Yuno is a particularly unique character in the anime and the way she has been drawn when going into her psychotic periods is excellent, you really get a creepy vibe off of her.
Overall I enjoyed the anime so much that I gave it an 8 on my list, but for this review I'm giving it a 10/10 as I also recently rewatched it and my opinion definitely swayed and I definitely enjoyed it a lot more. The only thing you can't regain is the shock of the twists that the anime has. I would definitely recommend this anime to friends, and to anyone reading this review.

**UPDATED** Added a paragraph with my thoughts on the ending.
Honestly, I can't believe the negative reviews!
This anime is a rarity in my opinion. The first season of K was more of a mystery, trying to figure out who Shiro really was, this time it's about keeping the peace. It's focused on all of the groups as a whole rather than individually and explores a goal that all three kings share.
The animation is spectacular and far surpasses AoT, I particularly like the animation in scenes with Misaki on his skateboard, there has clearly been extra care into those types of scenes. There has been no
...
major character development since the characters were probably explored to their full potential in the first season. The show is only three weeks away from its climax and I'm looking forward to it. I hope that this season doesn't have a disappointing finale, since the first season of K had an excellent finale, and as predictable as the show can be at times, it's thoroughly entertaining and I definitely feel like it's one of the best this year.
Okay, so the ending did not disappoint, I appreciated that it was left on a cliff hanger kind of and I appreciate that a lot of loose ends from the past season were tied up. I don't feel like this anime really NEEDS a third season, because everything has already been tied up with a nice neat bow already.
I didn't get the type of ending I wanted, but I'm not disappointed with what we did get either. It's a nice ending. It was built up climatically, and I would've been happier with a darker ending, but the one that we got was nice. That's really all I can describe the end of the show as, "Nice."
The soundtrack is also mind blowing, the soundtrack is actually one of the things that draw you into the show, as it compliments the colour pallet and spectacular animation and action scenes that the anime gives you in pretty much every episode.
I give this show a solid 10/10 so far, I may downgrade the review depending on what happens in the finale though as I definitely feel like a bad finale can let down an entire show. Hopefully it's good!
