Chi no Wadachi, or Blood on the Tracks, is a story that's honestly left me perplexed. When it came out, it was a solid 8/10 manga which I read regularly given how intriguing each chapter ended up being. However, over time I feel the story lost meaning and the pacing was not good enough especially considering the stellar start it had.

Story: 4.5/10
While the initial premise, and execution of the first 50-60 chapters was excellent, I felt the mangaka couldn't keep up the same consistency with the story-telling which made me eventually lose interest from chapter 100 or so. Having known (or not) ... what had happened initially, only for a swerve at around chapter 100, which doesn't give you definite answers left me desiring more closure. It wasn't that the swerve was bad, but I felt KNOWING who does the deed was important. It might be owing to me being a bit too dense for this manga, but I feel we didnt have a definitive answer which bothered me.

Pacing and execution: 5/10
There were times I loved the pacing and times where it was just way too fast. The execution and resolution of the story also left me desiring a lot more.

Art: 9.5/10
The BIGGEST positive of Chi no Wadachi is the art. The portraits, stills of characters with grotesque expressions, landscape was beautifully captured in the manga and I HAVE to give Shūzō Oshimi props for his amazing art style.

While I had high hopes for this manga, the execution of the story was poor, which resulted in me only catching up with the final 1/3rd of the manga more than 6 months after it ended. But I loved the art and inital premise and story so much, that it'll still have a place on my profile as one of my favourite manga.

Usao-kun perfectly described this show as a bunch of hardcore sadists, masquerading as a kids' educational show.

Uramachi Oniisan is the perfect example of how life pans out after your 20s, where you lose enthusiasm in all aspects of life. It's a satire of the typical kids-oriented TV show, which more often than not shows the true face of the people behind their cheerful personas.

Uramichi Oniisan is the lead, showing how his mental health has basically spiraled downwards despite being a gymnastics teacher on the kids show. He lacks motivation and breaks out of his persona while the cameras are rolling, showing how ruthless adult life ... can be to the kids.

Iketeru Oniisan likes adult jokes and has an amazing laugh, but tends to not be socially aware.

Utana is an unmarried woman in her 30s and you can imagine the sort of toll it takes on her.

Usao Bunny is basically the annoying kouhai of Uramichi and tends to face the brunt of Uramichi's physical outbursts. (Bonus: He is voiced by Tomokazu Sugita, the voice for Sakata Gintoki)

Kumao Bunny is the straight-man of the group and also the mysterious one, who you don't learn much about (at least until episode 4)

I'd recommend this anime to anyone who loves satire, and dry humour. It's an enjoyable watch in the current season and definitely worth the watch.

Okay, so this Claymation is basically a spoof of renowned horror movies, but I feel the medium it uses to tell the story is quite creative.

Story: 6
I give the story a 6 just because its not the most original idea of course, but does enough to warrant a fair valuation.

Art: 9
The art department I give a 9 because I can only imagine how long it takes to make something like this. There was clear effort put into making this gory and two characters have great art work.

Sound: 3
Its a silent movie. But the silence adds to the horror aspect of the animation.

Not a lot of characterization you can do in 5 minutes, so I'll give it a pass.

Enjoyment: 8
Quite enjoyable throughout its run time, which is not that hard of an objective.

Overall, it's a decent way to spend 5 minutes of your time. You needn't read a review for this. Just watch it!
