If you have a short attention span or find economics unbearably boring, this show might not be for you. However, even if you have only the slightest interest in economics, please enjoy.
Spice and Wolf is a more slowly paced anime than what I'm used to. There's a little action; but its not action heavy. There's a little romance; but its not sickeningly saccharine. Its really just a good anime about a traveling merchant and a wolf spirit who was once revered as a local God. It's so sweetly simple.
What interests me most about this show is that the characters, both individually and
...
as a pair, are incredibly fleshed out. As individuals, both characters have interesting goals that motivate them and distinct personalities. As a pair, they are even more interesting. The two make a dynamic duo who's interactions are genuinely fun to watch.
It seems like the creator of the anime wrote about people with with lives rather than a story with characters. That is SO REFRESHING, you have no idea.
The best compliment I can give Spice and wolf is that its just a good story, which is high praise in my book.

Amnesia seems like a pretty polarizing anime; so hopefully my perspective will be of some use.
I fully understand why some people don't like this anime. It might come off as your typical reverse harem girl fantasy. Although, to be quite frank, there are plenty of far more annoyingly hyper-sexual harem boy fantasies out there. Either way, I understand why the reverse harem aspect causes it to lose some appeal.
Despite that, Amnesia is a genuinely good anime. Is it the best anime ever? No. Does it have its flaws? Yes. But it is good.
For one, the art in Amnesia is one of its
...
most enticing features. The bright colors and unique fashions really put the viewer in another realm.
Furthermore, these male characters aren't flat, one dimensional beings who only exist to fawn after the woman. If anyone is one dimensional, it is the leading lady (she comes off as a little bit lifeless). A major part of the story is discovering the man beyond appearances. These characters are dynamic individuals. They are genuinely interesting.
Lastly, I mainly watched this show for its story line, not the cute boys (although, they were a bonus).
Every step of this story had me curious and interested. The viewer may be disoriented at first. The story line is a little confusing as it deals with multi-dimensional travel. But, that's part of what draws you in. Eventually, when you piece it all together, the whole confusing bit is more than worth while and comes off as a mystery rather than poor story telling.
Ultimately, Amnesia is a colorful adventure with a relevant message: Remember that every "cute boy" is only human and not everything is as it seems.

What can I say about Steins;Gate that hasn't already been said?
I came across this anime perchance, simply because I was bored and flipping through anime recommendations. Boy, am I glad I did.
The only reason I wont give this a 10 is because I have a hard time labeling anything as a "masterpiece" no matter how well its done. But I have to say, this comes pretty darn close.
Steins;Gate has made it into my list of all time favorite anime. It appeals to a wide range of audiences, from your Death Note watchers to your shoujo fans. The characters are lovable, the relationship
...
dynamics are endearing, and the story leaves nothing to be desired.
As with any time travel/dimension travel story, bits of it get a little tangled and confusing. Its hard to avoid plot holes when messing with time. But this anime is so good it manages to quell any issues you might have with time travel plot holes.
I, as much as anyone else, am hesitant about the hype of fanboys and girls; but, ladies and gentlemen, listen to them this time. Watch this anime. You WILL NOT regret it.

Sometimes when I’m feeling sad or stressed, I like to sit down to a cutesy shoujo romance to lift my spirits. That was my intention when siting down to Hyouka. Unfortunately, I found it difficult to get into this one. The first half of the show is episodic and formulaic with very little variation. The characters are cute; but, it does very little to help a monotonous storyline. I like a good mystery story; but, something about this fell flat.
However, I stuck around because something caught my attention.
There are little moments of surrealism in certain episodes where a character’s thoughts and feelings
...
are visually represented in an interesting way. For instance, the first time Houtarou is ensnared by his cute companion’s curiosity, the audience gets a view of his perspective through an imaginative lens where he is literally ensnared by her hair and surrounded by flowers (there to represent her overwhelming cuteness). These moments come off as artistic and deliberate rather than just part of the cute fest.
Because I allowed myself to continue to watch this anime despite my relative boredom, I managed to make it to the second half of Hyouka. The second half managed to capture my attention as the story became more intricate and focused on character development. The second half of this anime had everything that the first half lacked and more. As it came to a close, I found myself saddened by how soon it ended. The story just started! I had just gotten to know these interesting characters and I wanted to know more about them!
Overall, I think this show had a lot of potential for an interesting plot but was sidetracked by its formulaic mini mysteries. There isn't anything particularly terrible about it; but, I cannot whole heartedly recommend it unless you’re really just looking for something kind of cute and without a ton of depth.
