Note: Spoiler-Free Review of Both Seasons So Far!!
PLEASE WATCH THIS SHOW!!!!!
I am in no way a diehard fan of sports or sport anime in general. I usually find them tedious and boring. I had a very hard time convincing myself to watch this show because of that fact. I mean, it's volleyball, I figured I would have more fun watching paint dry. Oh boy was I wrong.
Giving this diamond in the ruff a try might be one of the best anime decisions I've ever made. You know an anime is pure gold when it gets you fully invested in a story you otherwise wouldn't care
...
at all about. The story telling in Haikyuu!! and it's second season, were absolutely spectacular. The ensemble cast all had significant roles to play in the story, and it never felt like the story was too focused on the main characters. This anime even made you feel bad for the minor characters on the opposing teams. Haikyuu might have the best character development of ANY anime I've ever seen.... regardless of genre.
I personally found the pacing to be perfect. Each match was given ample time to develop without feeling rushed or drawn out. As a viewer, I felt like a member of the team who needed to give every opponent the respect they deserved, rather than just automatically disregarding a team as a stepping stone. From a larger scale (season to season), the pacing was also excellent. From very early on, a clear goal for our protagonists was presented. It was made very clear where the story was going, and what the team would need to do to reach their goal. I found myself very satisfied with the way the team's progress towards this goal was approached. Very high marks all around in terms of plot.
I think one aspect of an anime that can sometimes be overlooked are the sound effects in each episode. Haikyuu!! did a wonderful job of making the audience feel like they were in the gym training, or on the court with the team in during a match. I very much enjoyed the immersiveness of the sounds in this anime.
As a pessimist, it kind of annoys me that I can't find anything major that's wrong with Haikyuu!! This anime was very enjoyable and should be given a chance regardless of your feelings about the genre. I have high hopes for season 3, and hopefully this wonderful anime will continue to impress me.

Bleach: One of the mainstays of the shounen genre. Bleach's contribution to popular culture cannot be argued. It's quality, however, definitely can.
Even before I became a gigantic anime weeb a few years ago, I had heard about Bleach. It was always right up there with Naruto, One Piece, and Fairy Tale in terms of easily recognizable animes. Bleach has it's fair share of good points. The cinematography is pretty good, the voice acting is incredible (in the sub at least), and the OST's are high quality. The show also does an acceptable job in terms of character development (other than the main character, who get's
...
a ton of development). It's nothing to write home about, but it gets the job done.
I've had a few problems throughout the life of the show that I think are worth pointing out. First off, the length.
I've generally found that throughout my anime experiences up until now, length can be a significant contributing factor to how enjoyable the end product is. Obviously, how much the length affects a series depends on a variety of factors, namely genre and story pacing. For example, if Show A is a comedy/slice of life with no complex plot, you will be more likely to have success with a smaller length than you would with Show B, an action/adventure with an ensemble cast and heavy character development. Even after taking this in to consideration, I just found myself loosing interest in Bleach more often that I expected. It can get hard to watch a show when you need to watch 30 episodes before seeing anything significant happen. What can I say, I'm just impatient that way. Bleach was just too lengthy for me.
Another concern I ended up having with the series was the overly cyclical plot.
After a couple arcs, once the novelty of the series had worn off, I found the same cycle repeating itself. Step One: The main character gets destroyed by a powerful opponent, Step Two: The main character develops an awesome new power, Step Three: The main character barely beats the same opponent in a long, drawn out battle, Step Four: Repeat. The show did a decent job of making the fight scenes somewhat suspenseful (mostly done by trying to make us hate the villains by giving them all uniquely irritating personalities), but in the end you knew what the result was going to be.
Finally, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, the filler arcs.
Oh the filler. Wow the filler. SO. MUCH. FILLER. I kid you not, 45% of Bleach is filler. Why so high? Well.... mainly because of the fact that the producers were repeatedly catching up with the author, Tite Kubo, and they apparently felt that it would be better to show terrible, meaningless filler just to keep milking the fans for money, rather than take a break for a while to preserve the integrity of the show. Is anyone going to stop watching Attack on Titan just because it took a break so the manga could get ahead? No. What I would recommend is looking up a filler arc guide before starting the series, so you can be ready to skip the filler. If you are absolutely insistant upon watching the filler, please limit yourself to only watching the Gotei 13 Arc (eps 317-342). It was, in my opinion, the only filler arc worth watching.
Overall, decent show, way overrated, not for everyone. Give it a shot though. Regardless of it's shortcomings, Bleach is something everyone should experience.

Avoid this one. Nothing about Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut provides the series with any sort of staying power.
Uncompelling characters combined with a lackluster plot provide the viewer with nothing but disappointment.
Even the harem portions of the show were incredibly uninteresting. This can probably be attritubed mostly to bad writing. What wasn't ruined by the atrocious writing was ruined by the uninteresting supporting cast. The bevy of female supporting characters in this show were a massive collection of annoyances. The only slightly redeeming aspect of this show are the average, at best animations. Even this was nothing particularly special however.
In no way am
...
I a super picky viewer who will drop something if it doesn't blow me away. I do, however, expect a certain baseline to be met. If a show is going to delve into the oft-explored depths of the harem-action-fantasy-school genre, it needs to be able to compete with it's plethora of competitors. This, unfortunately, usually appears in the form of fan service, but occasionally appears in the form of intriguing plot. Saijaku Mutai no Bahamut, unfortunately, largely fails in both regards.
I personally found the "development" of the main character to be particularly disappointing. I believe this stemmed from the show's crisis of feeling. It was too busy trying to be a light hearted harem anime, and the potential for the main characters dark past being brought to light, and his ultimate redemtion being achieved, was completely squandered. So much wasted potential from this show's plot completely saddened me.
Ultimately, viewers usually judge the watchability of a show by it's enjoyment. This is usually hard to quantify, and is largely affected by an individuals personal preference as opposed to anything concrete. I suppose you could call this the eye test. This show completely fails in this regard, and is very lackluster.
Do yourselves a favor and skip this show.

Stein's Gate is the kind of show that's so good, it has the potential to turn someone into an avid anime fan. How can I say this with such confidence?
It happened to me.
I would go as far as to say that I have an incredibly hard time believing that I will ever see another anime that will be hands down better than Stein's Gate. From the plot, to the art, to the music, to the character development, Stein's Gate is missing absolutely nothing. I mean cmon, even the dub is amazing. You know an anime is one for the ages when even the
...
dubbed version is off the charts good.
Time travel is a tricky subect to tackle. It's so easy to lose your viewers in a convoluted plot that you rarely see them done well. Stein's Gate is the poster child for this genre. It gives you enough details that you believe in the premise and characters, but not so much that the show becomes lost in a mountain of unneccessary details.
There's just something about Okabe that makes him..... amazing. This is actually one of the very few shows that I like watching is English more than Japanese. If for no other reason, watch this show for J. Michael Tatum's portrayal of Okabe. Absolutely fantastic voice acting for the role.
The art in Stein's Gate fit the story amazingly as well. It gave off a sort of ominous and bleak feeling at times, but also had moments were it brightened up and felt more energentic and alive. The beautiful contrast between these two extremes did wonders for forshadowing events later on in the story.
I absolutely loved the size of the cast. The fairly large number of main characters allowed for a vareity of friendly banter amongst characters, and allowed for a variety of interesting character developments without compromising the progression of the plot.
A final note on the plot and it's pacing.... some of the best of both I've ever seen in any show, anime or not. In 24 episodes, Stein's Gate will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotion that fit together really well.
Stein's Gate will make you laugh. Stein's Gate will tug at your heart strings. Stein's Gate will show you just how amazing an anime can be.
Highly recommend. A must watch for everyone who's a fan of anime in general.

One of the best animes I've ever seen. Highly recommended.
Note: I don't understand all the nasty reviews I'm seeing for this anime.
This is the kind of directing, writing, production quality, and voice acting I start every series hoping for.
It is worth noting, however, that I haven't read the manga, and this review will not include any analysis of the manga-to-anime transition.
Upon discovery of ERASED, I was initially skeptical of the plot and what it was offering me. I am very story oriented, and I worried that I would get so hung up on the time traveling aspects, and it's potential for
...
plot holes, that I wouldn't enjoy what the rest of the show had to offer. I can say that I was very pleasantly proven wrong.
ERASED is a masterpiece of direction that will keep you on the edge of your seat. That tantalizing carrot dangling just out of reach will leave you immediately clamoring to click on the next episode.
The art was incredibly well done, and manage to find a happy medium between bright and energetic, and dark and menacing. I felt the art helping me ride the emotional roller coaster of ERASED throughout the entire series.
Each voice actor fit their role perfectly. Overall, very well done.
