Wow, I'm not sure why there are so many awful reviews showing up on this page despite the average being ~7.5 as I write this. I thought this anime was pretty well done overall. The story is a variation on the classic Audrey Hepburn movie Roman Holiday, in case you've ever heard of or seen it.
Ultimately, any story is only as good as its characters, and I felt the characters here were believable and likeable. Particularly for the two main characters, there was enough depth to their backgrounds and motivations that you want things to work out for them. And even if the setup is
...
cliched and the ending all but ordained, what makes it enjoyable and worth watching is HOW they manage to overcome the obstacles between them.
I will say that, unlike a lot of anime that leaves you hanging at the end, this one came to a satisfying conclusion. It would have been nice to resolve some of the minor character stories, too, but I always feel that leaving some of those hanging allows the story to linger in your mind so you can savor it a bit more even after the final curtain has dropped.
So if rom-coms are your thing, then I give this a solid recommendation.
