If you're bored and are looking to waste some time, you won't go wrong with this anime. It has barely any character development; our main protagonist wants to be a hero, but there is little motivation for him doing it beyond, 'because it's cool', and the standard spiel about protecting your loved ones at the end. In fact, there's too much focus on scenes which do nothing to move the plot, develop characters, or do any sort of world building. The battles are pretty cool, but the human battleships might as well have been made from tissue paper, the way they get easily torn

Cowboy Bebop: Tengoku no Tobira

The movie is a more like an extended episode, but whatever. The plot is kind of generic, bad guy threatens the world, but it's done fairly well. The main villain, Vincent, does a decent job of coming across as bad guy. He's more the quietly insane kind of guy. There's little to none character development, but that's not so bad with the main cast. Unfortunately, we don't learn that much about Vincent or Electra, an agent of a pharmaceutical company, who has some connection with Vincent. There were clearly some lost opportunities to develop their characters more; we don't care so much about them
