This is seriously such an underrated show. It is almost criminal that this show does not have more than 1 season, given that there are 16 Volumes (and ongoing as of this review) of source material to use. it is also regarded at a really good Manga. (Currently on Vol 4) :)
I love how it pokes fun at the genre/tropes that most other shows fall into while developing it's own story that also uses those same tropes.

Absolutely beautiful Show.
I can't describe how great this show was - and I only heard about it by random chance on a review for another show I watched. I guess it was literally in the stars for me to see this show lol. The premise is pretty basic, but the journey after the initial meeting the two MCs go on for the rest of the season is truly one of the best crafted stories you'll see in this media. A real credit to the Anime Industry - I really wish shows like this would get pushed to the overseas markets instead of some of the cookie cutter shows that are popping up on various streaming services. I don't know who did it, but someone in kitchen must have been chopping those damn onions while I was watching this. Not many shows get to me, but the way this played out was masterfully crafted. The last episode, they just let the music speak for itself and tell the story - unbelievable visuals and again, that onion chopper somehow snuck in my room while watching it. This show is not for the weak, as it does get a little .... risky in the content, but it never goes over the line of indecent. tbh, after watching the original Working Series, I went into this show with a skeptical attitude, thinking that it would just be a poor copy of the original, and I was thankfully wrong.
If you are looking for a deep story, this isn't your show. If you are looking for a fast paced gag comedy, that actually delivers, then this is your show. This was a very fun series that made me laugh a lot. The characters are great and the development throughout the series didn't seem to lack.
This is a review for all three seasons + the finale special. The standout character of the Series was Aoi, she made me laugh the most. This story is not the gold standard in manga/anime, it is the platinum standard. Masterful story telling, both in rakugo and the actual story itself.
There are not many stories that can get in your feels, but there are certain points in this show that you catch yourself thinking, "Damn, this is really good". (S2-Ep10 - IYKYK) I understand what there are some that were a bit hesitant in watching it, but I think if you are one of those people that are hesitant, watch a few episodes and power through and you will be rewarded. When I originally watched the trailer for this, I thought to myself "Pass". I was so glad I submitted to peer pressure and gave it a chance, because it really did live up to the hype.
All I will say is, Episode 7 of the first season might be one of the best 20 minutes in Anime that i've personally seen. No spoilers, but it will not disappoint. One of the most bizarre and misunderstood shows you will ever watch, but watch you must because it is a wild ride. tbh, i originally watched the OVA/ONA of this show and didn't really get down with the story.
