If you're going into this expecting some kind of slice of life anime, you will be disappointed.
This is almost purely a comedy anime, and a very well written one at that. There's a lot of breaking the fourth wall and meta-jokes, you can tell the writers had a lot of fun with making this anime.
There is a lot of boke/tsukkomi humor here, a lot of absurdism and a lot of running jokes. It's all very charming and entertaining.
For comedy lovers i'd say this is a must-watch.
Art and sound are fine, the writing is sublime.
I don't understand the low rating of this anime, i
...
suspect it's just people who started watching it expecting some kind of slice of life or romcom or something instead of the witty comedy that it is.

Much like the first season of yuru yuri, this season does not disappoint.
The characters you know and love from season 1 are back and doing the same bits. It's a lighthearted brand of comedy with a bit of yuri sprinkled in.
The comedy feels more refined and well tuned in this season, there were several episodes that got a chuckle out of me. The sense of humor in the writing for this show really resonates with me, it's well written and nonsensical.
The character development isn't massive but there is more exposition of the various characters throughout the season. It keeps every episode interesting since there's so
...
many different likable characters given screen time.
The art and sound are both great.

This is a very cute anime, with a fun sense of humor. The manzai comedy between kyouko and yui never gets stale.
There's a decently sized cast of characters and they all get a decent chunk of airtime. There's plenty of tropes to satisfy various tastes.
The art style and animation are a step above the average, with more effort put into animations and expressions.
If you want comedy and lighthearted yuri romance with a little wholesomeness thrown in, you will most certainly enjoy this anime.
Easily a 8 out of 10 for what it is. I am looking forward to checking out season 2 and beyond.

The premise for this anime was promising but it fell flat for several reasons.
The pacing is horrible. Episodes felt really padded out with filler. Character development feels like it moved at a glacial pace.
Did i mention poor character development? 12 episodes in and it feels like things have barely changed. The MC and his love interest act so formally and awkward towards each other even after it seems like they have progressed. The fox woman keeps saying that they've "made progress" but I'm barely seeing it at all. They still behave like awkward teens around each other after an entire season. If you want character
...
development you will be disappointed. Even the auxiliary characters feel underdeveloped, the other love plots barely get any air time and are equally underdeveloped after 12 episodes.
The characters themselves feel a little dull and one dimensional. Everything we're shown is fairly surface level and it feels kind of depressing how muted and reserved everyone is. The MC's young sister is the only character that really approaches having any sort of interesting personality and she's barely featured.
After the hundredth moment where the MC makes a mini blizzard, the gimmick gets stale. Yeah, we get it guys, the MC makes snow when he's emotional. There's nothing groundbreaking about this when his love interest seems to ignore it 99% of the time.
The only reason i managed to binge this entire season is because I'm stuck recovering in bed from surgery. If i weren't, I'd have definitely thrown this in the trash after the second or third episode. If you're planning to watch all 12 episodes, set your expectations low or you will be disappointed.

Dorohedoro is a masterpiece.
The story is convoluted, unpredictable and one-of-a-kind.
The characters are written in such a way that the reader feels affinity towards almost all of them. You become drawn in to each character and their individual story and the part they play in the greater plot.
The writing is executed perfectly and the dramatic story is interspersed with humor, sometimes quirky and nonsensical, but always well timed.
The art is, in my opinion, fantastic. Sometimes it looks more like a rough sketch from a schizophrenic's art book but that is part of this manga's charm. There are also some lovingly colored portions that look like
...
they were done with a mix of watercolor and ink. It's fantastic.
If you had a friend getting into manga, this is one of the mangas that should be near the top of the pile that you give to that friend.
10/10.

Somehow this anime ended up in my to-watch list so I watched the first season. I tried to figure out precisely what this anime is supposed to be about but I could not honestly figure it out.
Is it a romance? No, since it's primarily about a guy and his sister.
Is it a comedy? No, it's not especially funny in any intentional way.
Is it a drama? There's some drama but most of it is meaningless fluff.
Is it ecchi? There's a few scenes that fit that description but honestly it isn't.
...
What I do think this anime is: weird, creepy and pointless.
Weird and creepy because I get really weird vibes from the MC and his sister. She's obsessed with siscon games and the anime heavily hints at this being the case because she secretly has romantic feelings for her brother. Okay, so that makes it a typical siscon fetish series. It gets weirder because there's a scene where he grabs her tit and sees her exposed panties. Mind you these are siblings, there's no flimsy excuse even like "my brother was adopted".
The anime toes the line so closely that you could argue that this isn't a siscon fetish show though, since it barely dips into that aspect at all. Most of the time the tsundere sister just acts maximum tsun and abuses her brother with no punchline or anything. Just pointless drama and a bitchy younger sister abusing her brother for no good reason.
The rest of the cast is so one dimensional they don't merit mentioning.
If you're into incest crap then just go watch a hentai or something, you're not going to get anything interesting out of this anime. If you aren't into incest crap, then all this anime will give you is a bunch of creepy awkward incest-y moments between a brother and his spoiled brat sister. It's not comedic, romantic or particularly interesting in any significant way.

Even going into this anime with fairly low expectations I've gotta say I was not that impressed.
What you get is a classic self-insert MC with all of the main Gary Stu traits: Every lady falls in love with him instantly, he's endowed with extremely powerful traits that turn him into an OP killing machine, he's the son of Zeus, etc.
All of the supporting female cast are predictable, 1-dimensional floozies that want to get in his pants or at least pretend they don't want to but secretly do.
The story progression is incredibly linear, predictable and flavorless.
Even the name of the anime is poorly executed: The
...
MC is a complete coward when it comes to women. Hitting on women in a dungeon is the last thing you'd expect from this neurotic child.
I could go on and on but I don't think this anime deserves an in-depth analysis since it's so shallow and half-hearted in its execution. I was going to give it a 5/10 but I realized that's far too generous for this unoriginal, bland otaku-pablum.

At first glance, this anime seems promising. Good art, interesting premise, interesting cast.
(some spoilers)
This is a slice of life with demi-humans and that's what it focuses on first and foremost. There's a fairly small cast which worked well in terms of giving the anime more of a focus on each character.
There isn't a plot to speak of so don't get your hopes up there.
The characters are more or less well written. The main issue with this anime is that it completely neglects one of the most interesting characters, the succubus.
You'd think that the MC, with all of his obsessing over demi-humans, would be interested in
...
studying Sakie the succubus, but instead she gets relegated to more of a supporting cast role. For an anime with an already very small pool of main characters, it was strange to me that they decided to more or less ignore this one.
The anime also alludes to some sort of romance plot between the MC and Sakie but never follows through with anything like that. In fact, most of Sakie's character building and basic plotline gets ignored. The anime kind of just fizzles out towards the end of the season and there's no sort of interesting development of any kind. That was by far my biggest gripe. The writers hint at all sorts of possibilities throughout the season but never follow through with any of them.
The art was nice, i'll give it that.
If you want a really basic slice of life with some demi-human schoolgirls fawning over their professor you might enjoy this anime. Do not bother getting invested in any of the characters because there's very little in the way of character development or plotline. For what it is, this anime still deserves a 7/10.

High Score Girl is a romantic drama (with a little bit of comedy) about a young guy who's obsessed with arcade games who meets a quiet girl and forms an unlikely friendship with her.
The story takes place in the 90's and gives a history lesson on the arcade scene and video games of the era. It's also an interesting era for the anime to be situated in. It's a simpler time without smart phones and other stuff like that.
(Some spoilers)
The characters are what make this anime shine. I especially like how Oono is basically nonverbal. She doesn't talk to anyone, the only time you hear
...
her is when she bawls her eyes out or laughs. Her being totally mute really helps amplify the emotion when she cries. You rely more on reading her facial expressions to figure out what she's thinking. I'm kind of a sucker for the victim girl trope (you know, the rich girl with strict parents who neglect her or don't let her have a normal childhood life) so I guess that's partially why I thought Oono was a well written character. She comes from an overbearing family and as a result she's not a normal girl, which makes for interesting drama and plot progression.
I feel like Haruo's character is a tad inconsistent. Haruo knows that he loves Oono. There are many scenes where his internal monologue (carried out by video game characters in his head) reveals what he thinks of Oono. Compare this to how he approaches Koharu and it's disappointing. He acts like he's totally romantically inept around Koharu. He's incapable of picking up that she's attracted to him. Why is it that he is so perceptive with Oono and admits to himself that he loves her but stone cold stupid when it comes to Koharu? The only conclusion you can really draw is that he has no feelings for Koharu. He doesn't even bother treating her with basic decency and rejecting her properly. She is strung along for the entire second season as well, and on the final episode breaks down crying as the MC finally runs off to confess his love to Oono. Definitely one of the saddest (and most frustrating) character arcs.
I also think that the ending of this season felt a bit rushed. They could have probably done another episode and properly tied off the loose ends in the plot (mainly Koharu's predicament). But instead it cuts short at 9 episodes and abruptly ends with a bang.
The animation for this show is a mix of CGI, normally drawn art and some retro pixel art mixed in. Despite the CGI feeling a bit clunky, I feel that they put a lot of effort into making the characters expressive. Ultimately some viewers might find it a bit ugly, it depends on personal taste. The music and sound are fine in my opinion.
High Score Girl mixes 90's retro gaming with romance, drama and a bit of comedy and the end result is a wholesome love story with an interesting setting. I found the comedy to be a bit sparse but the love story and 90's setting and videogame lore more than makes up for that. While I think the first season did a lot of things better than this season, I still think this season deserves a solid 8 out of 10.

Eromanga-sensei represents everything that is horrible about this genre.
The general plot is entirely ludicrous. All of these characters are in middle school or high school and working as professional writers/artists at the same time? Even if you suspend your disbelief it's just ridiculous.
The characters are one-dimensional. Most of the side characters exist solely to create tension between the loli protagonist and her brother.
The 'romance' plot, if you can even call it that, is a flimsy token that the writers only put there to divert from the fact that this entire anime is just fanservice. Let's be honest, if you are watching this anime it's because
...
you want to bone the 12 year old protagonist, or at the very least, you want to see her get boned by her brother.
There is no comedy to speak of.
This show is lazy, insipid and downright drab. It's an empty husk, devoid of soul. Its only purpose is to tantalize people who love ridiculous incest plots.
If you don't feel like your intelligence has been thoroughly insulted by the end of it then maybe you are lacking intelligence. It staggers the mind that people are rating this 8-10 stars, there's no aspect of this anime deserving of praise.
