First off, I'm astonished by several of the scathing reviews on here. I can understand someone thinking this video is blah, or not their cup of tea, but to absolute hate it and bash it-- I just think it's a little comical.

That being said, I love this video. Music is beautiful, art is gorgeous, and yes... the story made me cry. I know, I know, some of the reviewers on here said that they despised feeling manipulated into crying, but I really don't care. I enjoy stories that are bittersweet, and this one definitely is.

I also love stories that leave you with something ... to think about when it's over. Without spoiling anything for those who haven't seen it yet, I feel like there could be an entire anime series made about the protagonist of this video. Even after watching it several times, I picked up on little details I hadn't noticed before.

Absolutely wonderful story-- one of my favorites!

This is an anime that I never expected to like. I passed over it about a hundred times on Crunchyroll before getting bored one night and deciding to give it a try. Even then I almost turned it off after five minutes. The story line at first did not appeal to me; I didn't think that a story about people who live in the sea could be that interesting.
Then the opening song came on, and I was so impressed by the beauty of the artwork and the music, that I decided if only for these two things I'd watch it. After the first episode I ... was completely drawn into the story.
Nagi No Asukara deals with loss. Loss of love, loss of hopes and dreams, even loss of youth. Yet in spite of all this, Nagi No Asukara is also about having hope, and picking up the broken pieces that come from disappointment and turning them into something beautiful.
It might sound funny, but I feel like I learned some things about life by watching this anime, and I just might have become a slightly better person for it. I feel like this is a very moral anime-- if I can use that term without sounding prudish or old.
In one of my favorite parts, Chisaki (one of the main characters) says something along the lines of "I want to have a truly beautiful heart" after finding out that the boy she loves has fallen for her best friend. The fact that she decides to not become bitter or resentful is something that I think most of us can learn from. There are many moments like this throughout.
I was also impressed by how this anime managed to make multiple love stories equally interesting and engaging. Usually if an anime deals with more than one set of love stories, I find that I'm more interested in some than others. Not so with this; I was truly interested in every individual character and their romances. Even better, it was unpredictable. I had no clue who would end up with whom until the very end.
This is such a good anime that I plan on buying it so that I can watch it again someday. I'm a little sad to have finished it, because this is one of those anime that I know will be hard to beat.
So, if you're like I was and are doubting whether or not you should give this anime a try, please go for it! I don't think you'll be disappointed.

My favorite parts of this anime were the romance (older guy/ younger girl), and the development of the main character from an insignificant girl that no one believes in, to a woman with amazing talent.
As far as the romance goes, it has all the elements of a typical shoujo (girl cries and runs away a lot, hides her true emotions), but for some reason it works in this anime and doesn't feel cliche. I must admit that a good romance is mainly what I look for in anime, and this one is really sweet and keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering ... if the two will end up together.
Also for what it's worth, this anime is an adaptation of a manga which is ongoing, so the ending does not wrap everything up perfectly, but it does a pretty good job.

Give this anime more than a few episodes and I think you'll love it!
I must admit, at first I found this show only mildly interesting and the plot a little ridiculous. I mean, a father tasks his 14 year old daughter with picking a husband from the men he has chosen for her?! Not exactly realistic. I rolled my eyes the first episode or two, but it got such good reviews I decided to finish. I'm so glad I did!
Without giving anything away, I'll say that there's a deeper reason why the heroine of the series is tasked with picking a husband. Also, with every ... episode you watch (especially after episode 10 or so) the plot gets more epic. The characters are deep too, and I really enjoyed all of their back stories. Well worth my time watching 39 episodes!

Oh my goodness, I loved this anime! It's been a long time since I've watched an anime through in just a matter of days; I was obsessed with finishing it! Yona of the Dawn is such an enjoyable story, with memorable characters. I plan on reading the manga now, since I didn't want the show to end and I've heard the manga is ongoing.

Story:
This is not your typical shojo, with the girl obsessed over a boy or her looks or finally getting a date. Yona is on a serious mission, and the story drew me in completely. I loved how Yona is more than "just ... a girl," and even though she is weak and naive at first, she grows and becomes strong.

Art:
Beautiful! I loved how the characters were drawn and the attention to detail with scenery. An absolutely lovely anime to watch.

Sound:
This is one of the few anime in which I did not skip the intro song or the credits song. The music was beautiful! Even my husband, who was in another room at the time, came out and said, "I love this music." I also loved the instrumentals throughout.

Character:
Every character had a story, and I found that even on the episodes that diverted from the main character, Yona, I was drawn in and intrigued. I even felt sympathy for the villain, Soo-Won! However, it really is Yona that draws the story together. She is perhaps my favorite anime heroine. As I said above, she grows from a rather weak, flawed character to one with strength and courage.

I definitely recommend watching this anime if you haven't already. It has now become one of my absolute favorites!

I watched the first and second seasons of Arakawa and I really enjoyed the show, although I was a bit disappointed that some of the character back stories/romances/conflicts were never completely resolved-- at least to the level that I would have preferred.

Story:
Absolutely hilarious; I would recommend watching just for the comedy factor. There was also an interesting back story for the main character, Rec, as well as for his love interest, Nino. However, I felt like the second season ended without much resolution. I was left with so many questions still unanswered. I wish there was a third season!

Art:
Decent. There were some pretty moments, especially ... when it came to the scenery in the background, but the art for the characters was nothing extraordinary. Still, I've seen far worse.

Sound:
This is mainly a comedy, so the intro and credit music were nothing stunning, just funny and up-beat to fit the mood.

Character:
Again, I felt that Rec and Nino began to be developed into interesting, dynamic characters, but I think the series ended just short of its full potential. The supporting characters were hilarious and charming, though.

Enjoyment:
Watching Arakawa is a great way to pass an afternoon. I was amused the entire time and I laughed a lot.

Overall:
I would recommend watching this anime as long as you are looking for something light-hearted and quick. Definitely worth your time.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Barakamon, given that I normally watch romantic anime, but I kept coming across it so I thought I'd give it a try, and I'm so glad that I did! This anime gave me happy, almost nostalgic feelings when I watched it and I was sad when it finished. The artwork is beautiful and had a light, airy feeling. The main character, Hanada, is at times awkward and insecure, but in a relatable, likeable way. The real star of the show is the little girl named Naru, who had me laughing the entire time! I loved Hanada's affection ... for her, and how she caused him to grow. I wish there were more episodes, and I plan on reading the manga, which is ongoing. If you are considering watching this anime, go ahead and give it a try... you won't be disappointed! Oh, and if it matters at all I loved the opening and ending songs; they were so pretty!
