To start off, I certainly respect the opinions of the manga community who've read both the manga and light novel of this anime. And because of that, I don't blame many for not particularly liking the show and how it's been adapted. I'd feel the exact same way if one of my fave manga or light novels weren't adapted into anime the way it properly deserved. That said though, I loved the anime. Unrelated and disconnected from the source material, I think its a great anime. I'm not a fan of mechas but this one got me hooked. I appreciate a good romance/fantasy/isekai anime but

Loved it!! So very much so!
I stumbled upon this by accident so I went in without any expectations and goddamnit, it got me from episode 1! The world-building, power scaling, and power systems were brilliant. And props to Kei Azumi for giving the character the ability to name ad create variations of his own powers - thought that was a brilliant touch actually. Also loved how meta Makoto gets.. and how he trolls classic isekai tropes. But above all, my favorite thing about this anime is badass moments of my dude, Makoto dispensing kai, GODDAMN! And the fact that there's so few battle scenes of ...

I mean.. I love borderline hentai as much as the next weeb but I mean.. I think the backstory would have been way more enjoyable to watch than the main plot. I'd have much rather watched how he defeated the demon lord, why he had to, the dynamic between the demon lord and his daughter.. all that good stuff. But we were just thrown into the plot, no sense of what kinda power system they got.. I mean, I know its a type of magic but like.. cmon, a little bit more context would have been nice. anyway, overall, I was confused 2 thirds of
