Okay! So, I grew up watching, playing and loving Pokemon. My earliest memories involve Pokemon!

This means I love this animation to death. I grew up loving every single generation. I grew up in a poor family so I didn't play many games, but I remember waking up and staying up just watching every Pokemon episode that aired on TV. I watched every single movie... you could say I'm a superfan. So watching this made me cry a little!

This review is kind of unscripted but yeah... I have no complaints. The art and animation is amazing! As expected from Studio Bones! The characters are full of ... life and even though most appear for a brief second, you can really tell what their personalities are through their body gestures. The girl with the pigtails and the guy with the black hair are also full of life, even though we never even seen them before. Studio Bones did a really good job portraying their characters. I really hope to see them in an anime.

The Generation 5 scenes though... I kind of cried, you know? Generation 5 is by far the best story in my opinion, so seeing the transition from the happy Gen 7 to Gen 5 made me so sad. I really liked N as a character and I'll always like his character. And the scene with Chen, Bianca and Hilbert, transitioning to Chen, Bianca and Nate really hit me in the feels too, because the change from BW to BW2 was so drastic, including Chen and Bianca growing up with Hilbert and Hilda nowhere to be found.

The sound is amazing too! Bump of Chicken is one of my favorite bands and they never disappoint with their music. The beautiful instruments and the vocalist... damn! I can't get enough! I find myself listening to Acacia over and over again.

I could talk all day about the animation but the director... props to him too! Thanks so much Rie Matsumoto for this! He also directed Kekkai Sensen, and I knew it from the scene where the shadows of the legendary pokemon circled the unnamed girl and boy. I also knew it because the whole video just gave me memories of Kekkai Sensen. What an amazing director.

Overall it's a 10/10. I watched the video about 30 times already. I can never get tired of it. There's nothing else like it and I'm so grateful.

Sorry for the messy review. Like I said I'm just fangirling and pouring all of my emotions out.

This is the type of sibling dynamic I wanna see! Not those uncomfortable forced ones we always see in other anime.

I'd like to keep this review nice and short. I have an older brother that's 9 years older than me and we often have fights. But I love him regardless. This show is so, as much as I hate this word, relatable. It perfectly describes my dynamic with my brother.

Another show with a nice dynamic is Umaru-chan, because I'm that perfect younger sister who's amazing outside, but inside the house, I'm a filthy degenerate that stays up late and lazes around. The older brother ... puts up with his sister's shit, and does everything. Well, I'm not that lazy anymore, but my brother said he dropped the show because Umaru reminded him too much of me.

I appreciate this show a lot. It's nice and short with no real plot, but the animation, art and story-telling is fun. I like it a lot. And of course Brian The Sun as the opening... gold.

I hope to see more of this wholesome sibling anime, because there are too many times I didn't enjoy an anime because of a forced brother's complex... Little sisters don't depend that much on their older brother. It's just uncomfortable because I would never depend on my brother like that. Teenagers don't think like kids... they don't believe they're going to marry their older brother when they're older. That's just uncomfortable and creepy.

I wrote a very nitpicky rant on the pacing and leaving out parts of the webtoon that made the "story" better. I got shat on.

Story: 3/10 The story is not there. They just left out every bit of exposition, especially the half assed adaptation of the recruitment. That part of the webtoon was enjoyable and made us understand the characters more. A little break from the action would be nice once in a while. Deciding to cut out all of the exposition and replacing them with still images was so annoying to look at. At the moment it's just fight fight fight. Exposition serves a ... very good purpose and cutting that out is so dumb because it makes the story look stale.

Art: 8/10 Animation is good, as expected of Mappa. Beautiful fight scenes. The red noses don't actually bother me, but the announcer's red nose does lol. But one complaint is that, once again, they don't take things slow. I'm nitpicky here, but the three phase kick was so bad. It was 3 quick shots in the anime, but in the webtoon it looked like it was in slow motion and had bright colors on a white background. In the anime they did neither of that and it looked so unimportant.

Sound: 7/10 I like the techno sometimes. It fits with the chaos and the teenagers and city setting. Sometimes it's a little overwhelming. Opening was good in the beginning with the good vocals, but towards the end it was kind of noisy. Ending is perfect, it was chill and pleasing to listen to. Unfortunately people don't appreciate endings. Voice acting is okay, but the main cast are all relatively new voice actors, so the voice acting wasn't mineblowing, which is a huge disappointment. At least add a veteran like Kana Hanazawa, but instead they made a veteran (Sugita Tomokazu) voice a character that appears in like 2 episodes and never again. Wasted potential.

Character: 3/10 Characters are meh. People cried at Daewi's childhood friend in the anime and in the webtoon. I didn't cry in both, and believe me I'm the type to cry in every type of entertainment media. I cried in every single episode of Violet Evergarden, that's how emotional I am. But this one failed to strike my heartstrings. The only bit of empathy I showed was a single "aww. That sucks." ONCE AGAIN! I cannot stress this enough. Half assed exposition. Just a random backstory. Daewi is a meh cool bro character, Mori is a wow hyperactive kid character, Mira is a omg hotheaded tsundere determined serious character. The commissioners are meh, except that Park Mujin guy. A bit more interesting.

Enjoyment: 5/10 It was fun watching Mappa's animation. But the constant leaving out stuff from the webtoon really annoyed me at times, making me annoyed for the rest of the episode.

Overall: 5/10 Why did you have to make the pacing so bad? What makes a good shounen is the build up, the exposition, the building of characters so the audience can sympathize. Instead what we get is a show filled with mindless fighting. I was waiting for years for an adaptation of one of the first webtoons I read, but instead I get a half assed adaptation. All of the points went to the animation, opening and ending, none on everything else. Thanks for disappointing me with both Tower of God and The God of Highschool anime.
