Both novels feature the familiar transported/reincarnated to a fantasy/game-like world from Japan theme. In TnY, the main character is summoned into a different world but in Souen no Historia, the main character dies after saving a girl and is reincarnated into a different world. Both main characters become extremely OP, Naofumi from TnY is a 'hero' while Souji from SnH is an overpowered butler (think Hayate no Gotoku). Both series feature harems and are enjoyable to read.

Basically, both series feature the main character reincarnating into a fantasy world and becoming the most badass person out there. In mushoku tensei the main character is a fat NEET that dies in an accident and decides to live life properly after reincarnation, eventually becoming the most OP magician. In Souen no Historia, the main character is kind of a normal person who dies after saving a girl and is reincarnated into the most OP butler in existence (Think Hayate no Gotoku). Both series feature harems and are amazing reads. If you like one you'll most likely like the other too.

Both mangas have a heavy focus on the relationship between siblings. In both mangas, the MC older brother is hardworking and lives to take care of their spoiled imouto since their parents aren't around. Of course, without him noticing, some other girls fall in love with him as well. In both mangas, both the siblings have a sibling complex toward each other. The main difference between both mangas is that Himouto Umaru chan is more focus on comedy and slice of life but Watari Kun is more slice of life/drama/romance.

Very similar settings. OP main character with harem set in a fantasy world. If you like one you'll most likely love the other as well.
