Code Geass Roze is an incredibly entertaining Gundam show for the most part, but falls off towards the ending, and is terrible as a Code Geass sequel.
Code Geass ended on a strong note such that it didn't really need any more sequels, be it in the original or movie timeline, so the very premise of this show feels pretty dumb; SOMEHOW the evil racist Britannians rose up again and SOMEHOW the Japanese are back to being "elevens", which is a slap in the face of the original ending of CG.

Mecha junkies like me, but I strongly suspect that this was originally meant to be an AU Gundam series that was reworked into CG (it even has a BLATANT char clone). The animation budget isn't too bad and this was still way more entertaining as a whole to me than most of Gundam witch from mercury. Again, Mecha action junk food good, not necessarily "good" good. But oh boy did the show take a nose dive that even I can't excuse towards the end. All in all, it's a decent budget fun dumb mecha show that manages to be more entertaining than a lot of modern Gundam stuff these days but ultimately falls flat as a code geass sequel. No, this is nowhere near how good the original was and I hesitate to recommend this to any diehard fans, because CG honestly wrapped up very nicely and doesn't need a continuation. If you're in the mood for a decent Mecha show to scratch that Gundam itch though, it'll do the trick for the most part until the underwhelming ending. I wish MAL had a different rating system, cuz this is honestly a 6.5/10. Still had a lot of dumb fun, but still pretty dumb and unnecessary.

I enjoyed this WAY more than I thought I would. YES, it has hilariously bad CGI that looks like it came from the early 2000s; yes it has relatively low budget, but is it hilariously entertaining? YES, absolutely! Do NOT think of this as yet another isekai (there's a big twist about that); this is show is like an elaborate sh*tpost with a lot of raunchy ecchi comedy. with appealing waifus, goofy characters, and an overall hilarious and entertaining story that still has a very clear direction. If you're willing to put up with a bit of raunchiness, I'd highly, highly recommend giving this a watch; if nothing else, you will be entertained.

As an OLD fan of the Kantai Collection/Kancolle franchise who HAS played the original browser game using a bunch of plugins for non-japanese players, and watched the original anime and movie, this anime is just...baffling from every conceivable angle. Kancolle's popularity has long faded since it's golden years of 2014-2015 or so, and Kadokawa never bothered localizing the game officially, nor did they ever think to reinvigorate the franchise with a rebooted game to compete with the likes of Azur Lane and such, so a "season 2" after so many years is so baffling, and the fact that they decided to do a completely reimagined

setting from the original anime, with a much "darker" tone.
The fact that this tries to "recreate" actual naval battles from WWII that Japan historically lost in, and plays it completely straight with a somber tone despite the ridiculousness of "Shipgirls"/Kanmusu and Fairies is just jarring. Many fans like myself have greatly criticized the original anime doing this, while praising the more cutesy slice of life episodes, which is what any Kancolle anime should have been. YET, this anime doubles down on the dark tone, and with the incredibly boring Shigure as the main character.
Speaking of Shigure, I have no idea why she was chosen as the main character; perhaps she was the director or producer's waifu or something. Her incredibly softspoken demeanor works in a supporting role but is soooo boring as the lead. When Battle-Beaver finally shows up (Yukikaze), it becomes painfully obvious how much better she would have been in the MC role.
Bah, sorry for the ranty review, but TL;DR, the animation is decent, albeit with some awkard looking CGI on some of the abyssal fliers, but story, tone, and characters are completely baffling, and at the end of the day, literally, "Who asked for this?!", on top of the ridiculously long delays.

As a long time fan of both UC timeline and AU timeline Gundam's , "Witch from Mercury" is decent, but with some caveats, and a lot of things that might not be appealing to your average gundam fan or anime fan expecting action at first.
First and foremost, this entire first cour feels like a prologue (unrelated to the prologue episode 0 for this series), which is not necessarily a bad thing, but as such, feels incredibly dragged on for the majority of the series. The typical space war-drama action found in your usual gundam series is replaced with space-school hijinks and "duels", of which

there are stakes, but are a far, far cry away from usual gundam fare. There are many episodes that feel incredibly mundane with not much happening, and the pacing just feels way too slow, even for a gundam series, which can go up to 40-50 episodes.
Secondly, this is the first time ever in a gundam series that we get a proper female protagonist, and a very cute one at that. Although I myself am a fan of both gundam AND CGDCT SOL series, Suletta's moe antics may irritate hardcore gundam fans and shonen action junkies. The cast of characters in general is a very mixed bag, and viewer reception to the abundance of "cute girls" might be divisive in that regard. (But wasn't Kamille the best girl in Zeta?)
On the positive side, when the action does get going, be it the ACTUAL battles or the duels, no one does mecha fighting justice quite like sunrise when they handle gundam. Thank goodness for 2D animated mecha again, instead of cheaping out for 3D models. Aerial's gund bits look fantastic, as do the usual beam rifles and sabers. I ragged on earlier about the slow pacing, but how the season ended was fantastic, in what was the most "gundam feeling" episode ever of the entire series.
All in all, even though I'm giving it a 7/10 due to just how dragged out the majority of the show was, it is a series with incredible promise, with a cute FeMC, and great mecha action animation. It's been many, many years since a proper "main" gundam series that's not just another spinoff OVA set in the UC timeline, and I sincerely hope the follow up season fully delivers on what this was setting up for.

Now as a long time fan of the "Strike Witches"/"World witches" franchise who has seen S1+S2, the movie, and Road to Berlin (S3 or right after the movie), as well as Brave Watches, I feel bad for this series because at this point, it has a VERY niche audience to seek out. Newcomers would be easily turned off by the very premise of the idea of "Witches", real world WWII ace pilots turned into cute anime girls with kemonomimi ears and tails that fly around in "striker units", and long time fans would be put off by both the lack of any actual fighting against

the Neuroi, the fact that the girls now occasionally wear pants (yes, I KNOW you guys out there), and that it's basically an idol show now, complete with CGI'd song and dance performances.
That being said, I definitely enjoyed the show as a way to further flesh out the I guess "World Witches" universe, exploring more countries than ever, and adding the idea of "familiars" to the witches mythos. To keep things short, if "Strike Witches" was half war with Neuroi, half CGDCT SOL, and "Brave Witches" was mostly about the war, then Luminous witches is mostly a CGDCT SOL with elements of strike witches sprinkled in. There's plenty of heart and character to each of the girls though, regardless of the lack of fighting and it's still plenty cute-lewd with the usual yuri-bait. Just don't expect it to be as lewd as original SW or that one Brave Witches OVA, and you'll have plenty of fun.
Unfortunately, I don't see there being too many like me that'll thoroughly enjoy this, as strike witches is incredibly old by now and the few fans that remain might not like this new direction, and the "world witches" is again, a very hard sell to a new anime viewer. I do hope that "Noble Witches" will get an anime next though.

Alright, so firstly, this is already the 4th season of Danmachi, so needless to say, if you haven't seen the previous seasons, please do NOT watch this, as you'll be completely lost.
That aside, this season, or half of a season, I should say, feels way too hyper focused at JUST Bell and co. fighting in the dungeon. Previous seasons had a lot more down time in between battle scenes to actually develop characters and whatnot, and this 1st cour seems to just be all combat, which honestly gets a bit dull, considering there's nothing substantial to them other than "oh no, it's a big

scary unstoppable monster; can bell-kun beat it?". Likewise, for you Hestia or Ais fans out there, you'll be sorely disappointed by the absence of them throughout the season.
It's still more Danmachi to watch, but it's now questionable as to what direction the series is going. Season 3 was probably the peak of the series in terms of writing, with Bell going against everyone in the entire city to protect the Xenos, but THIS season just boils down to again, "oh no, it's another unstoppable big dumb monster!". It's a lot gorier now, yes, but there's little substance to what's happening on screen, there's no big overarching storyline other than "Hestia Familia will go down into and explore the deeper, more dangerous depths of the dungeon". Now overall, I am still going to give it a 7 just because it has it's moments with the action scenes and a new cute mermaid waifu, but this really would be a 5 or 6 for how dull the plot is compared to previous seasons.

Okay, by all metrics this should be a terrible show, a gacha game advertisement that has no direction in what exactly it was trying to tell or say. However, I have to personally admit, I am such a sucker for the genre that is slice of life "cute girls doing cute things" that I think my brain was melted by moe and I started to actually, unironically enjoy this.
The smile of arsnotoria is split into 2 different segments, the main show, which is "cute girls in a magic school having tea parties", and the occasional cut away of seemingly evil bishonen knights going around
...
murdering what they deem as "heretics". I strongly suspect that there was probably some form of internal conflict of interest, in which the anime director JUST wanted to make a CGDCT show, but was obligated to include the segments with the knights to be more accurate to the mobile game; which isn't even available in English, at the time of writing this. This doesn't mean that a gacha adaptation has to be bad; Princess Connect's anime was released to international audiences before the mobile game was localized by Crunchyroll, and it was a surprise hit, with the anime still being arguably more popular than the actual game, in the west at least. Same goes for the likes of Uma Musume: Pretty Derby, in which the game was never released outside of Japan.
Overall, this show just lacks direction on what kind of story, goal, or message it was going for, but it makes up for it in doses of pure 100% refined...moe. Re: Zero character artist Shinichiro Otsuka did the designs for the main girls and aaahhhh my heart...Tori-chan and ko-aru-chan sugoku kawaii~! But on a serious note, it's got good animation and incredibly cute girls doing cute things, but it IS pretty aimless and teases you of something more, but ultimately fails to deliver. Perhaps this was meant to be a prologue for the mobile game, but we'll have to see if that will actually be good or not, should it even get a western release.
I would definitely ONLY recommend this show to fellow connoisseurs of cute girls doing cute things; otherwise you'll be incredibly bored and let down for sure.

It's Snek & pals season 3! Featuring Miku from the Hatsune Miku series and probably funded by Hokkaido's tourism bureau!
Well if you're already a fan of the raunchy, often violent humor of Jashin-chan, you're probably gonna watch this anyways, as it is more of what you'd come to expect. Jashin-chan is still goofy and selfish as ever in her antics to get one over Yurine, and her humorous interactions with characters old and new are still the crux of the series.
This season however, has some bizarre features such as several episodes back to back seemingly promoting tourism in different regions of Hokkaido, which brings to

question if this season was in fact funded by their local government.
In addition, Hatsune Miku is somehow shoehorned into every episode, which is no doubt some form of paid for marketing. I have not read the original manga for this series, but I know for a fact that there was no Miku shoved in; still, at least she's tastefully implemented in as both a gag and marketing tool for this rather niche series.
Overall, because of the aforementioned "tourist" episodes that drag on, as well as a VERY lukewarm last episode, this is definitely not the best season of Jashin-chan but it still has it's original charm and laugh at loud, sometimes 4th wall breaking humor. I would still highly recommend this to existing fans who have watched the previous seasons. Otherwise, go and watch the first two seasons first before starting this.

Overall, this show feels just like one of those classic magic high school battle-harem anime that were incredibly common back in the day, until isekai harems took their place. If you're hungry for ecchi, then yep, it definitely delivers on the whole"big tiddy succubus mommy-GF" with decent animation budget.
However, it REALLY is a bag full of old cliches with not that much substance to it, which again, feels like an anime from like 2013-2016 or so. Even so, it's still not quite as attention grabbing as some of the better classics of the genre; there's just not enough plot happening. The only real twist,

if you could call it that, is that it's not really a harem, even though there's a tsundere childhood friend-chan right there; the MC really just sticks with his big succ.
All in all, this definitely feels like the usual anime ad for a LN or in this case, a manga, and while it was fun, I don't really see this holding up in the long term, nor getting a season 2; High school DxD this is not. Honestly, I would give this a 6/10, but the animation budget is decent enough that it's not laughably bad like many under the radar seasonal anime these days but yeah; only watch if you wish you had a "big tiddy succubus mommy-GF/wife".

I am genuinely surprised at how much I'm enjoying season 2 of LL:SS at the moment, considering how lackluster the previous season was towards the end, and how bland both seasons of Love Live: Nijigasaki has been! We finally get a proper rival/"villain" and a goal for the girls to work towards, as well as additional characters added to the crew. Now quite honestly, I have been skeptical of adding more girls in, considering how the main appeal of Superstar and Liella to me initially was that less girls meant more character development and focus for each of them, but so far, the new additions

have been pretty fun. I will say that a certain "CEO"-chan's episode definitely felt a bit too rushed, but her character is an interesting new take, compared to the usual cast of misfits in these shows. Now again, it has only been half a season so far, but it is definitely a massive step up from all the mediocrity that has come before, and I really hope to see Love Live be actually good again. It's not a hard science with Love Live; it's like a sports anime that just needs a proper goal for the team to work towards, and not just flounder about, like in Nijigasaki season 2.
