Story.
It's very simple and easy to understand, it's far from being complex and it doesn't try to be. Characters are introduced in a battle with minimal background information.
However, the timesetting and some of the elements that appear are a bit odd but they were added to make it look even better. You shouldn't think of this as a historical anime or you won't like it.

Art.
I liked the art, it looked nice, and the effects used during combat scenes added an extra touch to it.

Sound.
Intro and endings were nice and I was never once disturbed by the background music meaning they did a good job. Use ... the music to magnify the events that are taking place and focus your attention on that and not on the music playing.

Character.
I have no idea how well they match the historical people that they were based on but each was interesting in its own way. Also the fact that while they all liked and respected each other, they still fought each other was something refreshing. They somewhat match the general idea one would have from that time. And some of them were given elements from the current time to amplify their personality. Like date's horse that looked like a motorcycle, the yakuza like army...

Enjoyment.
The whole show wasn't made to improve your knowledge of that time or anything like that. It was made for pure enjoyment. If you like some epic battles without complex background information and such, this might be the show for you. Since the series is only 12 episodes long, the story doesn't have time for sidestories, detailed backgrounds,.. I liked this series so much because I could just watch and enjoy without having to think over some things.

Overall.
I liked the series, If you want a good short action serie. This is your thing. Don't be fooled by the historical tag, It might've been based on that but I wouldn't study for a history exam with this or you will fail. If you ever liked bleach, naruto,.. but you hated the fillers, the dramatic flashbacks in the past to explain something and just wished they'd get on with the battle. Then watch this for a few hours of simple enjoyment.

Ok, lets explain my points a bit:
Story..
The story is one I hadn't encountered in either manga or anime yet, it keeps on amazing me what happens and it doesn't grow old at all.

Art..
You can't get perfect but this is more than good enough.

Character..
How the characters unfold is quite something but we still have to see something from quite a few people, so far it has been limited to hikari and kei, while they sometimes talk about a person's past, it always ends up getting connected to hikari or kei(often its both)

... Enjoyment..
It will make you laugh
It will make you say: aaww so cute, aww so nice,..(you get the picture..)
It will make you doubt if you have studied enough.. and what on earth is a decent grade these days(realy, it does)

overall,
This is one of those that I never get tired of, I have read other works from this author and this one is the best(not that he has even a few..more like 1 or 2 but still)
If you like or don't like this style, I don't care, just give it a try. Its unique ^_^

Story:
.. not many plots in here and some are realy obvious but zero no tsukaima isn't exactly the kind of anime where serious and complicated plots would fit in.

Art:
Its the usual anime.. looks good, can't say much bad about it.

Sound:
The sound fits realy well and I loved the opening song :)

Character:
ah.. this is anime is kinda wierd, first and for all.. don't forget that the main characters have the mentality of 12 year olds(not including the idea of punishment.. you will understand once you've seen louise angry) so.. even if certain things get explained and feelings start to develop.. there never is much of a ... change in the situation(which is good or else half of the humor in this anime would be gone)
There will the occasional side story but the main characters are the main characters meaning that they will appear in everything and anything.

Enjoyment:
warning: you could die while laughing
realy, this anime's strong point is its humour and there are very few episodes in which this won't be seen.(make sure you get fansubs that explainsome of the jokes aswell)

Overall:
I lost my voice after watching the entire serie in one go because of all the laughter(this probaply won't happen to everyone unless you laugh as much as I do) This is one of the funniest anime's out there and its worth a try(theres also a little romance in it)

Story:
hmm.. without spoiling anything, this could be hard to explain..
The story might advance extremely slow at times but I have never felt the need to skip parts(I often skip boring or long parts) You won't have episodes filled with explanations as happens often in anime these days, his isn't an anime where you will have 1001 questions in the beginning(well, you might have 1 or 2 if you're good at noticing the little things)

Art:
meh.. its clean, nice, detailed manga style.. You won't find any ugly or messy characters/objects so I think we can say its good.

Sound:
I don't realy notice sound a lot and the sounds ... is not perfect but fits in nicely.

Character:
You will soon love most of the characters(even the evil one's have their charm)
You learn more about them every now and then, even those backgroundfilling nobody's have some story to them

Enjoyment: I laughed, I was touched and I was never ever frustrated so I think they did a good job on this.

Overall:
This realy wasn't my type of anime and it does seem enormously girly at first but I ended up watching it anyway because I finished all my other anime already.
At times I was realy moved by how romantic everything was and the other times.. well, I fell off my chair while laughing more than once. Ah my goddess is a unique and wonderfull anime, try it out even if it isn't your type, you might like it anyway.
