This light novel is about a over serious public servant and the elf he sworn to protect.
An elf girl from another world got teleported to the apartment of the main guy Shinobu. Unlike any normal human being, the first thing our main guy comes up with is to freeze her in a liquid nitrogen tank and threw her into the bottom the ocean to prevent the spread of unknown viruses from another world. Luckily, contacted for purchasing the nitrogen tank, his friend managed to change his mind and Shinobu decided to protect the elf girl from potential unfair treatment from modern society.
This is not
...
your typical isekai story. You might expect battles and adventures. But no, what you get is wacky brainstorming session about how to communicate with the elf, allergy reaction of elf, how to keep her away hazardous home appliances, funny speculations about elf magics, and so on.
Characters:
Main guy: Known as the cold-blood insect and the robotic lifeform at work, Shinobu is the kind of guy who won’t hesitate to take on the weirdo or even villain role for the rules and greater good. And he is extremely committed to what he believes. Shinobu has made up his mind to protect the elf girl until she becomes independent.
Elf girl: the main girl can not speak Japanese. We don’t even know her real name. Somehow, she becomes known as Arieru (roughly means “it makes senses” in English) from some misunderstanding and everyone decides to go along with this. She is cute, cheerful, and sometimes anxious potentially from previous trauma.
Shinobu’s friends and colleagues: the one that stands out the most is his smart subordinate Ichinose. She is observant enough to figure out that Shinobu is harboring an illegal immigrant woman or something. She sees through Shinobu’s thinking/behavior pattern to a creepy level. On the outside, at work, she is professional and polite, but in private, in front of Shinobu, she becomes rude and intrusive and enjoys seeing Shinobu in trouble. Somehow, she becomes Shinobu’s best ally as guardians of the elf.
Other than Ichinose, we also have Shinobu’s best friend (a teaching assistant at a university), Shinobu’s another subordinate (an idealist), the high-school girl who becomes aware of the existence of elf from researching local folklores, etc (not so many).
The novel has lots of dialogs. The first volume mostly takes place in Shinobu’s apartment. It is one of those one-room comedy with dry humor. Later volumes has more locations but the elf girl is hiding in the apartment throughout the first three volumes.
Each volume has its own theme. I don’t remember the exact themes. Through frustration and struggle, the characters learn and grow. The first-volume Arieru doesn’t show much facial expression. She is mostly curious and sometimes anxious. Meanwhile, Shinobu is just trying to communicate with her in his stone-cold professional style. By the end of the first volume, he learns to open up his heart and just talks. Despite the language barrier, the message comes across. Starting the second volume, she smiles all the time and gets very close to Shinobu. She also learns some phrases.
Overall, it is funny and wacky. You can have a glimpse of the legal system and social welfare of Japan. And Arieru is cute.

I finished reading the manga in two go. The review is based on how much I remember after two days.
It is fine. Lots of fan service. Fun, casual, relaxing. No big story, but fine for what it is.
A tired salary man with no special skill gets isekai into a fantasy world where human went extint a long long time ago. It turns out the human is the most op specie in the world with insane physical and magical power. Even one string of human hair left from ancient world can enhance one’s power.
MC is OP: being the only human in the world, mc is
...
beyond OP. Even his normal fireball magic is too powerful to use as it might destroy his home or the entire forest, so he has to wear nerfing ring to nerf his magic power a thousand times. His normal pumch is op as well, not quite opm level, but enough to knock out boss characters.
However, this manga is never about the mc’s own fighting power as mc doesn’t fight that much. The manga focuses more on mc’s ability enhance other characters - basically his waifu army. They gain power by kissing mc as mc’s saliva contains lots of magical power, so much that it can make normal girls pass out in seconds (the powerful main girl can keep kissing for ten minutes though). On the top of that, it is very additive and can make girls feel horny. How convenient is that? As a matter of fact, his bath water alone has insane healing power. And his sp*rm, on the other hand, is too powerful (only shown once). Even the op main girl couldn’t take it.
Exploration? Unlike other isekai manga, this one does not have lots of exploration. Mc mostly stays at home with his army of waifu. Even the main exploration takes place at home, which starts out being a cave. Not just any cave, but the old home of a human genius from ancient time. There are several underground levels. Each serves a special function, which can be unlocked only after defeating the level golem (once defeated, the golem transforms into a cute girl as a servant). Functions include hot spring bathhouse, food facility, kitchen, printer, teleportation port, library, computer, etc. The MC is too much of a chicken to face all the golems in one go. He only explores the next level when necessary. Later on, the teleportation port becomes mc’s way to travel outside without revealing himself (but not that much).
Waifu army: main girl the elf magic knight/archaeologist, slime that turns cute girl, bear ear girl, main girls’s lesbian friend, vampire, “enermy” general, golem girls. They all likes the mc. The main girl in particular is obsessed with the mc. Rather than the mc, they are the main fighting power of the manga. To get stronger, they obtain mc’s “sacred” saliva by kissing, lots of kissing. Some of them start out being the enermy characters.
Main among harem? Yes, the main girl. They even got married (but that does not stop the harem) (this is barely a spoiler because it is last volume’s cover art).
Fan service? Lots of breasts scene (nipples showing). Lots of kissing. Nothing too explicit.
Villain? Yes, there is a recurring villain, not the fighting type, but the smart type that makes pills and manipulates from behind. He is also responsible for a being strong enough to be a life thread to the mc.
Explanation for human extintion. Yes, mostly in the last volume.
Funny filler story? Discovery of the printer inspires a manga contest with some reference to some famous mangas (including jojo).

This is finished. Ends at vol two. Axed.
This is actually surprisingly fun. Action, gore, mystery, supernatural, and some light nudity (during tranformation).
As the cover art suggests, this is based on super sentai (power ranger), except that it is no longer a child super hero show. It took place in a world where sentai only exists in tv shows. Some young women suddenly passed out and when they woke up, they found themselves assaulted by some monsters, which are scary as they cut through the frightened women left and right. The only way to survive is to make use of the tranformation tools (which
...
they find themselves wearing when waking up in this world) and tranform into a version of pink ranger (yes, they are all pink) and fight back (no hint though, so it basically started with a brutal one-sided slaughter).
Power: There are several fighters. The main girl uses bow. The second main uses dual maces. If there are also nunchucks, sword, etc. After they transform, they gain inhuman strength and great defense. There is also power up later in the manga.
Enermy: four levels: minion goblins (they are crazy deadly too), small boss, excecutive boss, final boss (and also secret bosses).
World: a barebone version of sentai world. It follows the sentai rules. For example, no attack from enemy during the transformation, and the power is depended on how cool the moveset is (have to be confident). The main girl used to be a big sentai fan as a kid so she knows all the cool moves. The world setting is very barebone as the ladies have to fight off waves after wave of enermy. Between the waves, they rest in the church whose door would appear once they kill the boss. So not exactly isekai. Just brutal battle. If you lose, you either get killed or captured.
Characters: main girl (no longer sentai fan), second girl (sentai otaku; slightly dark past), sentai goddess (mysterious), main girl’s family: elder sister (journalist)(and her colleagues), younger brother (sentai fan); enermy bosses and other sentai characters; sentai commander, etc.
Mystery: this manga is not just about pink rangers surviving and fighting monsters. They didn’t exactly get transportted in the sentai world. Or at least only their spirit did. Their bodies are in coma in hospital. Once they get killed in the sentai world, their real bodies die as well. So naturally, the people in real world are investigating what is going on (particularly the elder sister who is a journalist). They tracked down some clues about the mysterious events. As the story progress, different pieces come together. Since the manga was axed, it moved a bit too fast toward the end, not enough time to develop key characters of the mystery, but at least the story arc did end properly.
Axed: some important-looking characters are not involved in the ending. Some characters are introduced but never get a conclusion. The manga is very self aware about this. It ends at the cliff hanger for the next arc. At the end, it has a few bonus pages that preview what happens next, except that it says “not continue…” instead of “to be continue” at the bottom. Supposedly, in the next arc, there will be a new main while the original main girl will be the mysterious overpower ranger. Maybe the author will find a different publisher for a sequal?

Warning: nudilty, sex, and violence. Lots of boobs. No genital is drawn (not hentai). No actual gore but lots of exploding heads (more comic-like than morbid).
A group of high school graduates travel to a remote island (called the dick island) for their graduation celebration. Unfortunately for them, there is an outbreak of this mysterious sexual disease in the dick island. It magnifies people’s sexual desire. Infected female will turn into sex monster. Infected males will die during sex. Virus can be transmitted through air and only female virgins are immune to it. So there you have it, a group of high school virgin boys and
...
girls and the remaining scientist(s) running away from female sex monsters, trying to survive.
Characters: the nice mc with unshakable love for his dream girl, the slighly perverted virgin glasses boy, the hot-tempered guy, the dye-hair chick, the researcher(s), the muscular guy, the fat guy, monster girls, and more.
Character development: the whole event spans over only one or two days, so don’t expect big character development, but i guess people show their true nature during crisis. And relationship beyween the characters do develop.
Monster girl: most of them remain the same physical appearance with just inhuman physical stength and twisted facial expression. They are very horny and they are coming for your dick like zombies.
Plot: it might not be a great one, but there is a plot. It is NOT a hentai. There is some mystery and horror going on as well. The manga also tries to explore if the sex monsters still have thier rationality remained (sick humans or just shells of their former selves), but not enough to make a point.
Action: not much.
Satisfying ending: not exactly, but it does explain why the events happened.
Obviously not something to be taken seriously. A short but fun read. The artwork is fine too.

Another gag manga from the author of destroit metal city. The raw is available for free on the manga park app (along with the author’s other works).
A Gag manga about a group of fist-of-the-nothern-star-style super heroes and their live in the peaceful modern society. The manga introduces a new warrior every few chapters. It is a mix of action, comedy, and romance.
Action: the main character Kappei and other warriors are masters of some kinds of super human martial arts. Each of them practice a particular style such as the tiger style and snake style. There is no real enermy to fight against though. The
...
warriors fight with each other for some stupid reasons.
Romance: this is actually a big part of the manga. Each of the warriors has a love interest but their romance doesn’t go very well partially due to how they struggle to fit in the society. The main guy fell in love with a cheerful college girl. Much of the story surrounds how he awkwardly approaches the girl.
Comedy: this is mainly a comedy manga. A recurring joke decpicts how the warriors trained bloody hard when they were younger (such as pulling a huge rock with a rope by their teeth);meanwhile, their master would say something like
“in this world, there are girls who miss the last train home, but this has nothing to do with you because you are the warriors of the apocalypse. If a girl tells you that she misses the last train home, that is the same as saying she would spread her legs for you. If you give a little push, you should be able to do her. This has nothing to do with you…For the sake of saving the world.”
And then camera would zoom on to the boy’s bloody determined face. The flashback usually happens when the main guy Kappei encounters such sotuation in real life, but he is ususlly in complete dilema of what to do because he was only raised to be the savior of humanity in a post-apocalypse world. Lots of time, he misses opportunities to get closer to the girl he likes to save someone in need. At the same time, he and other warriors are just normal young men who can fall in love or even get horny (they are very much attracted to ecchi materials) but are too embarrassed to do it openly because that is not hero-like. That dilmma makes the manga funny.
Character development: there isn’t lots of character development. Certainly, the main guy becomes more and more assertive in his love but that is about it. That is to be expected because the characters need to stay in characters to maintain their gag factors. Different warriors have their own gag favtors. For example, one of them always get beat up; one is fat; one hits his own butt for his super.
Ending: don’t expect too much. That ending might piss off some people. It is surprising though.

I can read Japanese and I read all of it (available for free on sukima for a period of time).
I think some of the reviewers here are too mean to the manga. It is just a manga. Don’t take it too seriously. It is not trying to be deep either. Just good old psycho horror.
I like the artwork. The gore is not as frequent as those gore-filled mangas, but it is there where it counts (actually pretty good, if you like that kind of stuffs). The story is entertaining enough. You might like it if you like psycho female characters.
Characters:
Different characters have different views
...
for death. The main girl wants to die, but since she can only die once, she decides to learn about it first by killing animals and xx. Standard psycho. Her ex just likes to play god and see the reaction. Characters like the main guy and his ex simply have miserable family sotuations and does not like to live (doesn’t necessarily want to die). Etc.
It is interesting seeing different family situations and how people from different sides interact. It is a short but fun read.
Ending: let’t say don’t expect much. Basically “the main story ends and fast forward a few years later” kind of ending (probably axed). Does not resolve much. I guess that aspect is a bit like real life.

This is a long-running manga series with 20 volumes and many sequels plus a live-action series.
It is mostly episodic. Most cases are covered in single chapters. Some cases take a few chapters to finish. It uses a very satisfying formula: Revenge against the scums/evil. Terrible people get what they deserve. The scenarios are interesting because they are very much based on real issues. You can imagine something like that happening for real. Shady credit card scam, out-of-control teenager crime (they only gets sent to juvie), identity theft, bullying, plain old lie, etc. Some of them are based on international situations such as anti-japan education
...
in China (well, this manga is old. it is mostly gone now), and US military bases in Okinawa. So if you are sensitive to these issues, maybe skip this one.
Characters: the manga starts with the main heroine only, the main owner of the revenge shop. The way this manga adds new characters is a bit different. New characters start out as minor characters who show up once in a while. They show up more and more often and eventually become regular. That includes the information guy, the otaku, the male prostitute (heroine’s younger brother), the high school girl, and the shady doctor. They all end up working under the heroine. The police are there (of course). Some clients come back for more cases. Some villains also come back. There is a final boss too, the cult organization. There is also a branch office in Okinawa too.
Story development: Being episodic does not mean there is no story development. Throughout the manga, the heroine is only referred to as the revenge shop. Her real name, age, and past are mysterious and rarely mentioned, but you can tell her past is related to the main recurring villain of the manga, the cult organization (which actually functions by scamming people). Many chapters are building toward the final fight against the cult, particularly the cult leader. The heroine is clearly preparing for something. Everything is resolved in the last volume.
Character development: Rather than actual character development, it is more like you know more and more about the characters:
At the beginning, the main heroine seems cold blooded and only cares about money. She does not help without an order from the client plus a big sum of money. She is very manipulative and would not hesitate to exploit the situation (and the target) to earn big time.
Later on, it is shown that she refuses to help without being paid because she knows what she does is not justice in any sense and doesn't want to make herself feel that way. And we get to see more and more of her "kind" side. She usually hides her kindness behind some kind of "selfish" motive: she urges the information guy to quit smoking supposedly because she does not want to lose an excellent information agent. She saves the high school girl from her rapist stepdad as a loan to get the high school girl in her team. She helps a disfigured woman revenge in exchange for acting as her double when necessary (the heroine pays for the plastic surgery). ETC.
She also has an eye for people’s hidden potential: the otaku’s imagination and athletic family background, the high school girl’s plain jane existence and the ability to objectively analyze herself.
Other characters also show more and more of who they are:
The information guy is known to be a tech genie from early on. He is later shown to have a very strong sense of justice and would pay to save people he cares about without taking any credit (one time he even gets mistaken as the bad guy by the person he saves, and he just quietly walks away). He is actually also the only character who permanently changes his look throughout the series (except for plastic surgery people), shorter hair and contact lens (and not dirty anymore; he is originally quite dirty).
The otaku guy starts out weird and a little creepy. Later on, his athletic setting and creative mind give him lots of cool moments. He also grows more confident of himself and gets quite royal to the heroine as she is the only one who appreciates him for who he is.
The high school girl gets more confident in herself and becomes more useful (sad). The handsome host is just the handsome host (he is a regular but I can't quite catch his character traits). The doctor is always creepy.

Warning: heavy nudity and gore.
Available for free on the sukima.me manga site (スキマ).
Reimagine food as tiny young girls(naked). As you eat or prepare the food, the girls are being killed, although all most people see are vegetable, chocolate, dumpling, etc. In their last moment, they embrace each other before they are turned into gore.
It is almost a fetish manga. Not much story. Not much dialogues. No characters. Just naked tiny girls being unintentionally killed in different scenarios. It slowly reveals what they are and why they are there. Kind of a twist at the end. Keep your expectation low though. I could imagine
...
someone gives it a very low score.
The bigest redeeming factor is the art work. Solid horror art. The lack of dialogue makes it a very quick read. Not much to lose if you don’t hate this type of content.

Action, gore, supernatural, and boobs summarize what this manga is about. It is not for everyone, but I like it. It is fun.
Ability: resurrecting the death as zombies to to convey their last messages (and revenge). After the first arc, it becomes a bit like jojo stand power: people with the satanic star marking can summon their own special zombies from hell to fight for them. People with special marking like the main girl reiko have extra ability. reiko can resurrect the corpses. Most boss characters (main villian) also have their own special power. Later in the manga, there are more gimmics, basically about zombie
...
and magic. Not all villain has stand power (might not even be aware of it). That makes things interesting.
Structure of the manga: it consists of episodic chapters and a few long arcs. Some arcs are much longer than the others. Each arc has a main villian. Some of them have many strong underlings. Some arcs have a mix of more independent villains.
Characters: Characters who survive the arc would join the gang. Killed villain boss characters might come back as powerful stand zombies. There is a recurring boss. And yes, she eventually redeems herself. And yes, more females than males.
Warning: lots of gore. Lots of boobs with nipples actually drawn. And very cruel. It doesn’t even spare kids. If you are uncomfortable about depiction of kids getting beheaded, skip this one! Ally characters can also have very cruel deaths.
Art: it evolves. By the end of the series, it becomes a lot like the author’s later works (bulk women with thick strong arms)
Spoiler
On the top of my head:
Arc1: serial little-girl killer (comes back as a knife-wielding stand)
Arc2: the queen (reiko’s evil twin sister) (introducing ally characters)
Arc3: sister of the serial little-girl killer (come back as boxing stand)
Arc4: return of the queen, star-absorbing man, bullets that turns people into monster, bad military with cruel female commando captain (also more ally character)
Arc5: star-giving man with deadpool-like healing (add ally)
Arc6: the op ancient evil witch who possesses anyone who looks at and touches her soul stone jewelry. (Add ally)

This is actually finished. End at chapter 25 (not counting extra). Available on manga park for free (censored version).
Add “psychology” to the genres.
The main guy used to be dumb back in middle school. Encouraged and helped by the hot tutoring school teacher that he had a crush on, he managed to get in a good high school. Just when he wanted to say thank you to her (and hopefully became her friend), she was gone from the tutoring school. He tracked her down and found her shutting herself off in a dark house. She appeared to be allergic to sun light and had a desire
...
for sucking blood. He began routinely visiting her and offering her his shoulder to bite and suck on. Very sweet very happy. As he got closer and closer to her, little by little, he began to see the tragic event that turned her into a “vampire”. Will she be able to accept his feeling and move on from her dark past?
Warning: some people might find this manga inappropriate, or even disturbing because the main guy is only 15 and our beloved hot lady is 29. And yes, there are some sexual contents. If that bother you, skip this one. If you like less conventional romance, this might be for you.
Characters: the main guy (15), hot lady (vampire?), neighbor college girl, the cute girl who sits next to the main guy.
And yes, the two other girls like the main guy. No, it is not a harem because the main guy is fairly certain about his feeling for the heroine (thanks god) despite the age gap and the fact that she is a little broken. They do share lots of sweet and happy memory. The main conflict is that despite how she appears on the outside (smiling, lots of love), deep down inside, she has a hard time moving on from her past and her late husband, and the main guy is unsure about how to confront her on these issues. He wants to support her and show that he is no longer a kid but she remains doubtful, insecure and afraid, or maybe she simply does not think she deserves it. She smiles anyway because she is an adult, which makes the manga a comedy.
As for the tragic event, the manga actually never has a direct narration of the entire event. There are pieces here and there: magazine articles, rumors, an old diary, fragments of her memory from as early as her college days, etc. At the beginning, it looks like the event was simply theft that went wrong, but it was more than that. You can say that in some sense it was her kindness and unconditional trust for her late husband (who was a jerk) that led to the tragedy. That was why she felt guilty for that.
But you know, this manga is a comedy. There is lots of happiness. All those dark stuffs happen under the surface. That is what makes this manga interesting.
