Story: Well story wise Akame ga Kill was pretty average, a couple plot twists here and there which I was able to predict. Like in Attack on Titan all the chatacters were dying like flies. I believe that the shock factor is what stood out the most. The ending was deplorable, as it didn't even feel like an ending, if there was a second a season I dont think that I'd even watch it because almost EVERYONE died. Each episode brings a new character with fabulous powers over 9000 that just CAN'T be defeated. On a good note, characters aren't given invincibility becuase the plot
...
DEMANDS that th character stay-the story does not revolve around certain individuals but we can still easily identify the main protagonist. This anime will do something I usually don't mind- a character dies, there is an emotional heart tugging scene, BOOM, someone cracks a joke and all is good once more... ok
Characters: Let's get this one out of the way. The name of the show is Akame ga Kill, which is entirely misleading because our average Joe "Tatsumi" is the REAL main man. He has disheveled hair, comfy clothes, and the trade mark Mr.Nice guy personality- a sign should just constantly hover above his head titled "Hey guys main character over here!". What othr main characters were like this hmm... Naruto, Akihisa Yoshii (Baka to test), Kodaka (Boku wa tomadachi, Allen Walker (D.Gray man) no scratch that his character was well constructed, Natsu(Fairy Tale), lets not forget classic Ash Ketchum. Tatsumi is so nice that he makes nice with the "bad" guys to the point where we can no longer strongly call them evil. Actually all the good guy's personalities were reflected in the evil characters, they were so alike imI paused the show to spare a moment dedicated to shake my head in dissapointment, the hype of this anime was not deserved.I think every character got a short backstory to explain their actions so that was a bitter sweet feature.
Animation: the animation in this show was BRILLIANT, there was a variety of fighting styles for each characterdepicted and their movements were carried out smoothly. I have no complaints as the death scenes were unique in their own way, no characte was killed the exact same way, everything was plotted excellently, not leaving room for questions such as the dumbfounded "how did that happen?". When a character dies they DIE, they are not coming bac point blank. It was polished and pefected to get the fluidity of what you now see.
Sound: It wasn't half bad, really. One song was continuously replayed and that was a cringe factor for me. Why was the theme song the same song played during the death if a secondary character eh? The voice actors weren't especially amazing it scaled average for me, not really reaching out to me.
Overall I rate this anime 5.8/10
