Special abilities + Shounen + Super Saiyan Power + Sports = Kuroko no Basuke
I think this series is criticised quite a lot due to its unrealistic nature but honestly it is a shounen anime what else due you expect to see, some diligently hard working players that have no flames coming out of their bodies, That's impossible for this series.
Story: 8 - The Generation of Miracles were five legendary players that played basketball together in the Teiko middle school Basketball Team. But there was a rumour about a phantom 6th player that the five respected. Taiga Kagami came to Seirin High School after returning back
...
from America. In the basketball team he meets Tetsuya Kuroko who has a very weak pressence. Kagami is shocked to find that Kuroko is in fact really bad at Baskeball. But Kuroko's weak-pressence lets him pass the ball around without the other team noticing him, and he's none other than the sixth member of the Miracle Generation. Kuroko makes a pact with Kagami to defeat the other members of the Miracle Generation that have now parted ways. And its battle time. Its more or less a typical shounen with sports but it's enjoyable which makes it nice to watch.
Art: 8 - The was pleasing and the motion was swift which made it even easier to watch this series.
Sound: 7 - The did create a mood and tense up the atmosphere but I wouldn't make an effort to listen to it again which make the soundtrack more or less satisfactory.
Character: 8 - The characters were done nicely as they contrasted each other especially Kagami and Kuroko who've been portrayed as the light and shadow but despite being the opposite of each other they'll still stay together.
Enjoyment: 8 - Though it was a bit typical and predictable but it's a fun watch that can be adjusted to our sights easily. This series is recommended to anyone but especially those who like shounen or sports anime.
People who liked: Slam Dunk,Prince of Tennis,Eyeshield 21,Haikyuu!,Hoop Days,Chihayafuru,Hajime no Ippo and Diamond no Ace will like this series due to similarities in the way sports is portrayed.
Overall: 8 - Overall I liked this series and I think if you don't mind the unrealism then you'd enjoy this series a lot.

Hide & Seek + Supernatural + Horror = Amazing combination ( but a disappointing result ) = Kakurenbo
A waste. Thats all I really can say about this movie.
Story: 7 - Among the ruins of the city, there is a game only children can play. It is called “Otokoyo”; a game of hide-and-seek. But whenever children play this game, one by one they would disappear into the blinds of the buildings… The story begins when a boy named Hikora enters the world of Otokoyo, to find his sister Sorincha who disappeared afer playing this game. At the beginning I found it promising and I thought after
...
watching this movie I'd reconsider playing hide & seek ( even if you're not a kid ) but I really was disappointed with the results.
Art: 6 - The art wasn't anything memorable or beautiful but it wasn't shabby so I found it more or less suitable for a 'kiddy-level' horror anime.
Sound: 5 - The sound is something that I hardly have any memories of but I'm not bothered enough to look up for Kakurenbo's soundtrack because for what I can remember I didn't find it astounding or anything worth mentioning that could praise this movie.
Character: 6 - The characters weren't bad but they could've developed even if its only a movie but the characters did have more potential too but the potential wasn't drawn out which is a bit disappointing.
Enjoyment: 5 - I don't hate this series or find it annoying but I think I had really high expectations which let me down so I think as long as you don't keep high expectations and enjoy pg-13 horror then you'd be fine with this anime.
People Who Liked: Gakkou no Kaidan,Kaidan Restaurant and Corpse Party will like this series due to some similar elements.
Overall: 6 - Overall I was a bit disappointed but you'd like this movie as long as you don't hold high expectations and this movie is suitable for anyone.

What is right what is wrong, is that something that could be judged? No, because everyone have their own views regarding 'justice' though at the end of the day it's just about various opinions conflicting with each other as everyone believe that their 'justice' is correct and what the majority believes is what is known as 'justice' or 'law'. But to be honest that's just our opinions which aren't right but not neccesorily wrong as every person views crime from a different aspect regardless of what the person who commits the crime is thinking because as long as their actions break the law those people
...
are regarded as what we call 'criminals'.
Story: 10 - Yagami Light is a genius who finds his current lifestyle and the world dull. One day while gazing outside the window he noticed a book falling from the sky and when class ended he picked up the notebook that was titled Death Note. He out of curiousity took the notebook with him home only to realise that this notebook has the ability to kill any human and he can change the world with this but things won't go smoothly as a well-known yet anonymous detective known as L has the wits to compete against Light which leads to mind games between them to see who outsmarts the other as Light starts of as a man of justice yet turns into to the one named Kira. I might be a bit biased towards this series because of the concept regarding the conflict of whether our main protagonist is a hero, villain or a anti-hero is what I found quite interesting ( I mostly feel biased with animes that have anti-hero's excluding code geass which I only gave a higher rating than I would've because of Lelouch's de..... basically what happened to him at the end of the series ). But I think the best part is how L and Light's opinions vary about their justice as the audience debate about who's right and who's wrong.
Art: 10 - The art was impressive as it portrayed the movements of the characters so smoothly that it felt so realistic and the character design wasn't floppy or kiddy looking either so it all fitted in well.
Sound: 10 - The soundtrack of this series is quite amazing because it makes you want to feel that you want too hear it again and again on an endless loop.
Character: 10 - The characters were what drived the mind games to go so far untill we reached towards a conclusion. And we see a lot of contrasing yet somewhat similar characters which makes us feel that if we were in the same position then would we do the same thing. But I the best part about the characters would be Light and L's rivalry as they are one of the best and compatible rivals ever.
Enjoyment: 10 - Though Death Note did have its flaws and a few times I did feel disappointed but there's no such thing as perfect so overall I really enjoyed this series. I think this series is suitable for most people I guess as long as you can handle the character developments with high psychological elements.
People who liked: Psycho-Pass,Code Geass,Jigoku Shoujo,Darker Than Black,Detective Conan,Danganronpa-The animation,Guilty Crown,Persona 4,Paranoia Agent,Shiki and Monster will like this series due to some similar aspects which could be the characters/theme/atmosphere or storyline.
Overall: 10 - Overall I loved this series and it's definitely worth a watch if you like shounen anime or are new to anime.

Mafia + Super powers = Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn!
I found it a pretty interesting combination which piqued my interests and led me to watch this and though it had its ups and downs it was a fun ride.
Story: 8 - Sawada Tsunayoshi is a below average and weak willed middle-schooler who is known as No Good Tsuna but his life changes drastically when a hitman named Reborn reveals to him that Tsuna's a future canditate for the tenth position of boss in the Italian-based Vongola mafia family and he's here as his home tutor to train him so that Tsuna is suitable for the position. The
...
story was quite interesting as you won't find mafia and Shounen together but but what made me liked the story is how nicely the Shounen/Super power/Mafia elements blended so smoothly as it didn't look like something mashed up together rashly or odd.
Art: 8 - The art was nice as showed the motion movements clearly as well as the character designs were done befittingly but it could've done better.
Sound: 8 - Some of the soundtrack was good while some wasn't but overall the soundtrack fulfilled it's duty by fitting in with the situations satisfactorily and the seiyuu's portrayed their character's emotions well enough though it's a shame that most of the voice actors in this series aren't that famous.
Character: 8 - The characters were quite interesting as they were distinct from each other including some supporting ones too and how the main characters develop but some characters weren't explored and developed as much as they could despite having the potential too but the characters did their job accordingly.
Enjoyment: 8 - I enjoyed this series as it held it's own moments and it can be seen by any audience.
People who liked: Ao no Exorcist,Bleach,Naruto,One Piece,Fairy Tail,Nurarihyon no Mago,Beelzebub.Pandora Hearts,Fullmetal Alchemist (Brotherhood) and Hunter x Hunter will like this series because these series have the Shounen/Super Power element too.
Overall: 8 - Overall it was a nice watch and is worth a try if you like shounen anime.

Bizzare murder's happening randomly with a mysterious girl described as the key of all of the problems but is that true? In this special we discover about that mysterious girl Misaki Mei's past which clears her side of the story.
Story: 7 - We get to learn about Mei's life with her 'cousin' Fujioka and her point of view of what happened before the curse and the 'first' death. This special basically just shows us what Mei told us in Another so it isn't anything new except that this time we actually see what happens as this confirms Mei's story to be true. So basically even
...
though there's nothing new you can watch for the 'moe' (?) factor of seeing Fujioka and Mei together.
Art: 8 - The art was pleasing as we got to see some nice views and character designs made this special worth watching.
Sound: 7 - Nothing notable but generally the soundtrack carried out it's job satisfactorily.
Character: 8 - The characters were the main point of this special as the past of a mysterious girl was revealed as we see her relationship with someone she cared for and what that person's 'illness' caused to make Mei as the aloof girl in Another.
Enjoyment: 7 - Though there was nothing new it was enjoyable as we got to see some eye-pleasing views with some emotional moments.
People who liked: Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni,Umineko No Naku Koro Ni,Elfen Lied,Shiki,Corpse Party,Mirai Nikki,Tasogare Otome X Amnesia,Dangaronpa - The animation and Denpa Teki Na Kanojo will like this series due to similarities in what's shown including the gore, disturbing moments and the emotional impact.
Overall: Overall I liked this special though it didn't make a major impact but for those who liked Mei's character this is a must watch.

What happens you turn the family friendly mahjong into a living at the edge from fear of death? You get this anime but what truly turns this into a psychological anime is our protagonist's state of mind where he makes his moves.
Story: 9 - Nangou is a compulsive gambler who has accumulated debt over three million yen. In a last ditch attempt to clear his record, he decides to wager his life on a game of mahjong with the mafia. Unfortunately, as the game progresses, Nangou only moves further from the prize and closer to death until his saviour comes but that 'saviour' just might
...
be someone who's reckless actions may cause you to have the 'almost heart-attack' feeling. Generally I enjoyed this series a lot because I like when a game or sport anime is mixed with the psychological genre as I loved One Outs a lot and this Akagi never fails to you pumped up.
Art: 8 - Well I wasn't too fond of the art but it does get along with this series due to the style matching the atmosphere though the pointy noses are a bit distracting.
Sound: 8 - The sound wasn't too exceptional but it did it's job well to maintain the intense battling atmosphere.
Character: 9 - I would've given the characters and the anime itself probably an 8 or7 if it weren't for Akagi because it was him whom made us anticipate for him,his battles, his opponents and his ultimate victory which raises the level of this anime.
Enjoyment: 9 - I enjoyed this series a lot because it made me look forward to the next episode as it made me excited just for a mahjong game and the bets just made it worth even more. Overall if you can bare the art and you don't mind the psychological genre then you'll definitely like this one.
People who liked: One Outs,Kaiji,Death Note,Saki,Shion no Ou,Chihayafuru and Death Billards will enjoy this series due to some similar elements these series hold.
Overall: 9 - Overall I liked this series a lot as it gave me a nice experience and it's definitely worth a watch.

The time past is now written by some people in a diary on which they now reminisce. Something simialr happens in this movie as the person who is reading diary's daily life goes on in the usual ruckus.
Story: 8 - In this movie we see the daily misadventures of Ohana whereas Yuina comes to Kissuisou to train herself so that she can get used to the atmosphere. And while that's going on Ohana finds out a bit more about her mother's past. I think the story was done well as it covers something that wasn't explored in the anime as she discovers more about life.
Art:
...
9 - The art was done in the same manner as Hanasaku Iroha so it lives up to it's beautiful quality.
Sound: 8 - The sound was good but again it could've improved yet it wasn't touched much but despite that it was nice.
Character: 9 - The characters were developed more as we discover about someone's past as well as we discover someone else's future which makes the story intriguing.
Enjoyment: 8 - I enjoyed the movie as it showed us something different instead of becoming just another side story with no importance. This movie is suitable for the same audience who liked Hanasaku Iroha.
People who liked: Chihayafuru,Honey and Clover,Working!!.Servant x Service,Non Non Biyori,Byousoku 5 Centimeter,Gin no Saji,Tamayura,K-On!,Kimi to Boku,Hyouka and Summer Wars will enjoy this series due to a few similarities related to themes, relations and portrayals of characters.
Overall: 8 - Overall I liked this movie as it did make an addition to the story's development which is an important factor. This movie is likeable as it portrays the some of the characters efficiently and smoothly which makes it good.

"I want to sparkle". That's basically what describes every action of Ohana's as she didn't want to lead a boring life with the same view which comes with the predictable future.
Story; 9 - Ohana Matsumae is a full of energy and spirited girl who finds her current living style plain and predictable which she doesn't want as she desires to be sparkling by leading an exciting life which she believes may begin when she has to move in with her grandmother who runs an inn because her mother ran off with her boyfriend due to his debts as she left Ohana in the traditional hot
...
springs inn where she has to work to compensate for living there. And now Ohana just might have found her way to sparkle. The story is quite different and refrehing as it feels nice when you watch but I may be a bit biased because I enjoy the Seinen / Slice of life genre together but the story does focus on relationships and bonds with others.
Art: 9 - The art was beautiful and befitting for this type of anime as the brought out the most from the anime and made this series feel even more amazing.
Sound: 8 - The sound was good as their were moments where I thought that there could be nothing else that'd suit the atmosphere other than what's playing in the backround but at other times I felt it could've done better but overall the soundtrack was satisfactory.
Character: 8 - The characters were done well and some of them were shown to have developed nicely but again the characters did have more potential to make the anime even better because I think some of the characters weren't used enough or were just left alone rather than developing them.
Enjoyment: 8 - I did enjoy this series as it held some elements which I like and this series is suitable for anyone but I think if young people like below 15 watch this series they might not enjoy or more like 'appreciate' this series which is why I recommend that people over that age watch this series unless you know you understand the value and meaning of series despite your age.
People who liked: Chihayafuru,Honey and Clover,Working!!.Servant x Service,Non Non Biyori,Byousoku 5 Centimeter,Gin no Saji,Tamayura,K-On!,Kimi to Boku,Hyouka and Summer Wars will like this series becuase despite there being no obvious relation but these series hold/keep/show similar atmospheres/themes/importance/portrayal as the main or secondary concept.
Overall: 8 - Overall I liked this series a lot but I think it could've done better and developed more but I'm not disappointed as I didn't have much expectations from this one which made me happy as I at the end of the day came to like this series.

Is an anime which is focused on some card game fun? I'd say yes.
Story: 9 - Chihaya Ayase is a tomboyish girl who's always played Karuta since her childhood ever since Arata Waraya introdued her to this 'sports' game. Now in highschool, Ayase still holds the same passion and creates a karuta club. From then on, the story focuses on her and her friends/comrades as they progress and develop their skills as well as their relationships. I found the story quite interesting as it revealed a diffferent aspect of something which I before thought was only a mere childish card game though that's not the
...
case here.
Art: 9 - The art was a quite important aspect as we needed to see the hand movements quite closely and as I thought I wasn't disappointed.
Sound: 8 - The sound has a quite youthful yet traditional feeling which made this a reliable support as it stays true to the anime.
Character: 9 - The characters were done well as they were contrasted, bonded and united in a nice manner as they still developed.
Enjoyment: 9 - I enjoyed this series a lot as it manages to take itself seriously and display potential which is a great thing.
People who liked: Hanasaku Iroha, Hikaru no Go, Saki, Bakuman, Bamboo Blade, Akagi, Shion no Ou and One Outs will like this series as their is a similarity in the character's tension/theme/goals.
Overall: Overall, I liked this series quite a lot and I find understated despite being worth much more. This series is suitable for any audience and will be especially liked by people who like sports/battle/Game/shounen anime.

Jealousy. That is what drived these specials' main characters to do something they shouldn't have. But if you were in their position, would you have done anything different?
Story: 9 - These specials can be considered as part of the story but also can be called a side story as they focus on some of the supporting characters of Shiki. The first episode features Nao Yasumori who got infected and 'died' and after coming back as a shiki. She does something she shouldn't have which ended with drastic results. The second episode features a woman named Kanami Yano who's mother got bitten and to prevent her
...
from killing anyone, she daily offered a glass filled with her blood however her friend named Motoko Maede discovered this and she promised her friend she won't tell anyone but things didn't go as smoothly as Yano thought. I think for a special there was some marvelous effort made as it felt no different from the actual series (though that only counts if you've seen the shiki and I know some people watched the special after they'd finished Shiki which isn't actually quite right as you should watch the first special after episode twenty and accordingly, the second special after episode twenty-one).
Art: 10 - The art was pretty much the same as it was in Shiki which I found amazing as there was no sloppiness visible to me.
Sound: 9 - The sound was good too as it gave off the correct vibes it needed to which helped create the tense/creepy mood.
Character: 10 - I found it amazing the way they showed the characters as they developed into something much more deeper which is comprehensible as it is possible for someone to have such emotions when they're in a similar position.
Enjoyment: 9 - I enjoyed it a lot as it had captured the essence of what it needed to be complimented. However, I'd only recommend this to the same audience of Shiki as it may be disturbing for some people but it's worth a watch especially if you've seen Shiki but haven't noticed these specials.
People who liked: Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni, Another, Highschool Of The Dead, Shinsekai Yori, Elfen Lied, Dance in the Vampire Bund, Umineko No Naku Koro Ni and Death Note (as I'm sure there is an audience who liked these series) would enjoy Shiki which means they'd like these specials too due to similar auras that these anime carry.
Overall: 9 - Overall these specials are really likeable by people who enjoyed Shiki and they won't be disappointed.
