The anime is one of those OP Main character types, and yes they are all essentially generic. So the question is should you watch this one one? And honestly I felt it wasn't bad. The rating is low at the moment but I think it deserves at least a 6 which probably gives you a good idea on what its like.
Animation is okay, nothing jarring that kicked me out of the show. Characters aren't amazing but they have at least a little personality. It meanders a bit where it just takes a some time to go anywhere and the plot is pretty simple anyone could
...
work it out.
I wouldn't go out and buy it, but its better then the low score its getting, if you specifically like the OP main character genre its a good watch as a "I'm bored on the weekend with nothing to watch anime", but I wouldn't go far out of my way for it.

Seikoku no Dragonar is an interesting anime, and probably one of the few I find quite enjoyable about dragons. As most people would suspect, the comedy ecchi harem action genre isn't exactly new, and this anime makes no exceptions in that. It doesn't deviate too much to typical cliche and it doesn't do anything super special either. The story is what you expect from this type of genre, and the character development is about average. I feel the story is probably where it falls a little short as it isn't spectacular or even anything that you would find surprising.
In saying that though I personally loved
...
this anime, it was enjoyable as the main character actually attempted to fight, and the few female characters also added the needed substance for this anime. I found myself laughing a few times, and even caring about the characters which is a really good sign. The action unfortunately feels quite short, considering a 12 episode anime, its understandable but it loses its impact if the character either wins or loses within a few minutes.
I thought the art was done nicely enough, and I was able to happily marathon the whole show in one sitting. In the end though this seems like the sort of anime which will appeal to a certain group of people but not all. While the fan service was quite comedic, certain choices such as tentacle monsters really detract from the overall story, at first it felt like a bad boss to fight, and the next second you are having a hard time taking it seriously since tentacles come out, and then you wonder whether the main character is even fighting it at all or if its just some sort of fan service monster. Ultimately that feels like the biggest fault for me, I would have a better feel of the characters if they fought monsters doing more then just adding fan service.
Still though there was enough typical action, the male lead wasn't a complete wuss like some anime, and I felt like I enjoyed the ending.
My last thoughts are, if you are the type of person who enjoys action harems, can tolerate the fan service, and enjoyed anime such as machine doll and familiar of zero. You will likely enjoy this anime.
If you prefer anime with a more in depth plot, something you have to seriously think about or something that will be completely amazing, then this probably won't be the first choice on your list.

So this anime is a typical sort of harem (romancey) action, magic futurey type anime, which sort of reminds me of things like a certain magical index and even rosario + vampire.
So the good:
Its fun to watch, if you enjoy anime like raildex, or harem action it has the typical funny ecchi scenes you see when the character accidentally does something pervy. It has awesome action with cool magic effects, and its proper action where people bleed and get hurt.
I found the characters quite fun to watch, with varying personalities that you see on a typical harem. The story line had quite a few
...
arcs, a lot of which are done quite well explaining everything thats going on compared to other anime which either breezes through the story line for the action, or screws up the action doing nothing but story and text. The action scenes also feel really interesting and fun to watch and character development although a little low is quite good.
The not as good:
The biggest problem with the anime is how typical it is to others, the action harem ecchi plot is the exact same as you would see in any other harem ecchi action. The character personalities are the exact same as normal anime of that genre and the biggest problem is it doesn't do much different, they attack difficult enemies, theres a few romancey like themes, and its all really the same.
Conclusion:
Honestly even though the anime doesn't deviate to others of that particular genre I friggen loved it, it felt fresh and new considering the character personalities are used so much. I was engaged more so in this anime then a lot of others I've seen. The arcs I felt was done really well in the anime, with none of them feeling like they ended too quickly or too slowly except the last one. And its something I really wanted to watch, something where I felt on the edge of my seat, I enjoyed my whole time and nothing too huge happened on the plot that would put me off from watching it.
TLDR
If you enjoy typical harem, action romancey, ecchi anime with magic, and demons and stuff, you will probably love this anime. If you don't though this anime probably won't be on the top of your list of anime to watch.

An interesting sequel to the original infinite stratos anime it becomes a fairly mediocre but enjoyable series.
To get the main thing out of the way first this season of Infinite Stratos is a harem, echhi, comedy with SOME story in it. NOT an aspiring story with some harem, ecchi, and comedy in it (yes there's a difference).
The anime follows Ichika with all the main characters from the first series placed into this one. A lot of it becomes the awkward harem ecchi that is to be expected from Infinite Stratos with little deviation from the original seasons. The character development wasn't too bad
...
considering most of it was done in the first season although it feels like the ecchi and harem parts have been taken up a few notches.
The problem comes into play mostly as they hint of an arc or story that rarely comes to light in each episode. In the end if your hoping to watch an enthralling story the anime will quickly feel like 10 episodes of fillers and 2 episodes of story.
Overall its fairly hard to critique the second season as it doesn't do too much from the first. They both had fairly average story, the art is similar along with the sound and the characters are the the same as well with few editions. With the haphazard use of the story it becomes difficult to review an anime that doesn't add too much to the series. A few things are found out particularly about the antagonists and how they relate to Ichika but it doesn't seem to delve much deeper then that. The last episode is where the story really comes into play and sort of wraps up, but it feels quite obvious that this seasons was made to push the story along a bit and set up for another sequel.
Still though taking the anime like it is, its one of my favorites. The females flock to Ichika as expected in a harem. There is ecchi scenes and times when they are being really cute or really strong. Ichika is still as weak as ever but its good to see him fighting for his friends and I particularly enjoyed the strength that Charlotte and Laura bring into play.
In closing (or TLDRthrough its an interesting anime, in which I feel if you enjoyed the first series you may likely enjoy this one. Although don't expect too much from the story as a lot of it will feel like a group of people doing random stuff for a while until the last episode.
