Both have have an overarching plot, but also have a "food of the chapter" thing going on where they try out a new kind of food during each chapter. They are rather lighthearted in nature. Dungeon Meshi is set in a dungeon where a party of adventurers tries to rescue the protagonists sister that got eaten by a red dragon. On their journey they hunt monsters and plants in order to cook meals. Kumika no Mikaku is set in an office with adult human and aliens. The protagonist Kumika is an alien that got an officejob on earth and by chance tastes human food. Fascinated by the new tastes, she goes on and explores all kinds of food during free time by herself or with her colleagues during work. This one also has a satisfying romance subplot for the main character.

Chichi to Hige-Gorilla to Watashi

Chichi to Hige-Gorilla to Watashi is what Usagi Drop was for the first 1/3 of its story. It shows what Usagi Drop could and should have been. Lighthearted, warm, funny. You have a widowed father that takes care of his daughter, together with his brother. We follow their lifes in a slice of live-ish manner, the three of them at home, the dad at work and the daughter at kindergarten and their interactions with friends and coworkers. There are even appropriate loveinterests for each of them and the story actually does something with them. Something that Usagi Drop failed to do.
