Supernatural and surreal with a japan-but-not-quite-japan setting and a center on family (relations between siblings, parents). A touch of politics/factions, battle scenes, ridiculous battlegarb/beasts, daddy-disappeared issues. Both have the slow and shocking reveal of complex family histories/legends.

There seems to be a correlation between the red and blue haired male protags, the yellow haired damsel, pink haired antagonist. There are transformation sequences, plenty of flashbacks to childhood memories, cute animals, plenty of stalker scenes...

Both have miyuki sawashiro as a blondie, takahiro sakurai as a white haired opponent, awesome ops. Both anime have urban settings and neon colors. Each touches upon the source of human morality, one from science and the other the spirit. (Noragami has significantly more gag scenes though.)

-the responsible female protagonist has to come to terms with and enforce the Utopia/Dystopia that she resides in, in the process shaping her morales and becoming very strong and capable. -strict observation of psychological health of citizens -allusions to psychological works and conditions -lots of death and dying, and obviously tragedy as well. -and the questioning of the morality of death punishment -there was a team of five--and more similarities but I don't want to make this a spoiler. -homosexual relationships in the team Of course, one has a brilliant twisted villain, the other has [i wont spoil it]. One is tron-like, the other is traditional/villagey. The team dynamics in each are completely different.

Both are reverse harem-like around a little homeless goddess school-girl who needs protection: Nanami=Karin (little goddess school girl) Tomoe=Kazune (Romantic Interest #1/devoted-yet-prickly/classmate) Kuruma=Ren (black haired singer/classmate) Mizuki=Micchi Aside from having similar characters---no, that's about it. Kamisama is of the shrine-girl/traditional japanese kami type, while kamichama is a magic-girl time paradox issue.

Zetsuen no Tempest

...then you might like
Aku no Hana
add

In brief, give it a try if you're into: atypical tales of romance, reddish haired girls responsible for churning out plot, strong usage of allusions to classical literature (see Psycho-Pass as well), gloomy gloomy moods, beautiful ambient soundtracks, ominous eyeball plants. If you're bored and wanna read something: Both Zetsuen no Tempest and Aku no Hana have very strong literary references (quoting, and relying on their respective pieces), implausible plots, and awkward love triangles. Zetsuen has Shakespeare's Hamlet and the Tempest, while Aku no Hana has Les Fleurs du Mal by Baudelaire (which personally makes me think of the gloomy baudelaire children from the series of unfortunate events, but that's something else entirely). These literary references are important if not crucial in both Zetsuen and Aku no Hana. While there are complaints about the animation style of Aku no Hana (I personally like it. The expressions and nuances, the fidgety fading and jerking, really make it all the more disturbing), I have to say that both have pretty great dramatic soundtracks. (please listen for the ED of Aku no Hana). If Aku's animation wasn't your thing, then Zetsuen has excellent animation by traditional terms. Zetsuen is 26 episodes of magical action-y revenge, loopy plot/time line, and messing-with-your-sense-of-logic, while Aku no Hana is 13 episodes of suspenseful-psychological, really twisted Bildungsroman, making-you-uncomfortable. Both plots are centered around the love of a girl, but only one involves the fate of the world, guess which one. Awesomely confusing paradoxes vs completely unsettling, insanely capable vs incredibly gutless protagonists; take your pick. Oh there are also evil blooming eyeball things in both, if that's what you're into, referred to as fruits and flowers respectively.

I originally watched poyopoyo before watching this and I loved nanami immediately: "her voice sounds so familiar and happy and it makes me feel happy" and it has been verified. The same voice actors does the main characters for both shows (no not the cat in poyopoyo, but for the very very lovable owner of the cat. she's just the pet-owner type person). A lot of people were sad about kamisama hajimemashita being only 13 episodes; there are 50 episodes of poyopoyo but they are a lot shorter, (but each episode packs so much action and script it feels like the episode was much longer than 2 minutes. the sustenance derived = full length episode). Both of these shows walk you into a cliche ("ahh...forbidden love and demons...cute cats...borrring") before its honest goodness just busts out all your smiles.

Usagi Drop

Usagi drop is a lot "nicer" (i mean its completely kid appropriate). The protagonist is a guy who has plenty of weaknesses (it makes him all the more loveable) but the lead female in usagi drop is infinitely more loveable than rokka (i mean, a little girl vs a widow. who's gonna win out on cuteness, sorry rokka <3) They both have a nice emphasis on family, a touch of that "MEANING OF LIFE" profundity, a short list of episodes, and an ability to make us burst out spontaneously in either happiness or tears. Oh and i'm told by first-impressionists that the beginning of usagi drop is weird. I thought the beginning was a little funky too, but it was nothing in the light of the overall perfection. And plus you guys have seen natsuyuki first so I suppose the initial weirdness in usagi drop will seem like nothing.
