I hate it... Watching it makes me mad, setting up good characters for them to die in different ways. The only problem is that it's amazing storytelling. Each character makes you feel exactly what the author wants you to feel about them.
It does a great job showing the evolution of insanity, as a watcher, you see an obvious solution that characters can't see because they are quite literally going crazy.
