"What is the taste of sea?"
In the world of romcoms, "mediocre" would be the word to describe most of them. It's so rare to come by a piece of fiction in this category that can "Wow" you and truly success in bringing out your true emotions, I'd say this movie have succeeded. The movie have everything I ever wanted in a romance — A story that perfectly blends together the character, the twist and turns, the emotions and the clichés. "Josee, the Tiger and the Fish", unlike the others, expresses a sensation that
...
none have ever had.
This movie is centered around the heroine Kumiko (who is also "Josee") and the hero Tsuneo Suzukawa (Who is often referred to by Josee as "Servant"). The plot is a simple yet fulfilling story between the characters that are introduced. I can almost feel like I was there with them, as the two main characters while watching. I can feel the feelings of delight, hopelessness, and most importantly hope itself. Everyone, everywhere had a meaning and a sentiment to it. This movie manages its moments of cliché perfectly. Many movies use these moments as a plot device in order to elevate the story. While "Josee, the Tiger and the Fish" has them, the movie uses it without it being cringey.
What I especially love is how everything develops. From the feelings the two main characters have for each other changing, to how the surrounding themselves morphs into the characters' mood is just simply magnificent. The characters are consistent and they truly feel like they are humans and not some terrible ways to try and convey the story to the audience.
From where you look at it, this movie can be a simple and straight forward movie: The heroine meets the hero and the two went through their troubles together, then ended up as a pair. To enjoy this movie is to not look at the start and the end, however, it's to look at how the story progressed.
This story was enjoyable, it made me and my friend giggle, it made myself think that I was missing out on something. This movie had me on the edge of my seat the entire time and I couldn't bring myself to not smile. Simply enjoyable.

Had a blast watching this with my friend, it's safe to say that I enjoyed every second of this movie.
Every moment of us discussing the movie with each other during and after the movie is amazing. We went from this theory to that theory, every single thing. It's safe to say this movie can help your imagination run wild.
Now, on to the actual review.
The main plot (˵ •̀ ᴗ •́ ˵ ) ✧ :
The focus of the story
...
is on the love story of the main character Naomi (Main Character) and Ruri (Main Heroine). It's still your basic, run of the mill Romantic story of the main character risking everything to save the girl he likes. If we look at it from a wider perspective, the concept is still not that new, many version of the main character risk every version of himself to save the girl/woman he loves.
What makes this movie unique to me, is how they potray it. They don't use Quantum physics and those stupid stuff that most movies use when they can't provide an explanation to the existence of the multiverse, they use what is more "real" - Simulations. You could argue that with the use of simulations, all the things that happened in the movie is just pointless and basically amounts to nothing in the real world, but you'd be wrong. All the simulations here are almost too real to be just simulations. They are basically a multiverse, just bounded by the fact that they are running under a supercomputer. We never even witnessed the real world in the movie btw.
The story technically got an ending, but I dare say that we only got to see the happy ends to the 2 world. The ending also makes the story even more different, because this time the one saving the main character is the main heroine.
I'll rate the plot a 10/10
The Character development:
This might be the most disappointing part of the movie. I wished the character development could be better, though there is a chance part of the original work was cut from the movie due to some reasons.
There is little to no character development, some part of the movie we can see the interactions between the two main characters (Mostly at the old book fair part, where all of the characters of the movie basically got some screentime). Then there is close to 0 developments, which doesn't makes much sense to me. Ruri just basically understood everything after she got back and does not even question a single thing??? Still boggles my mind, then again, content could be cut.
Character development could only settle for a 4.
Overall, this fits the people whose got a thing for Sci-fi best. Even though, I would still recommend people who watches Romcoms, Romance as a whole to try this out. I hope you enjoyed reading my review.

Expecting a good watch, ended up confused.
Was watching with my friends, we still cannot wrap our heads around what's happening after 15 minutes.
Was everything true? Do the realities even matter? Are the realities a way for the main guy to cope with Nazuna going away? Do they even know each other? Did they each first meet at the start of the movie? How do they have a picture with each other? What the hell even happened at the ending?
Are we missing something or are we stupid?
Still, there are some scenes in the movie that is really good; they are just in the wrong movie.
The
...
voice acting is very good. Still, wrong movie.

I wouldn’t lie, I really felt the ending.
It’s a common story about a normal guy wanting to achieve a girl of higher status but with a twist (it just adds The Honest Woodcutter).
The story is thrilling (and a bit lewd). It’s basically a test for the MC for every episode. One step at a time to get closer to his love interest’s heart. Except there are 2 of them… The story will get much more interesting (for me at least)
It’s not too long and it’s honestly a great read if you don’t have much time on your hand
I can’t state enough how much I’ve
...
enjoyed reading this manga
The ending is good enough, I am more than happy with the ending.
Love this manga

After a whole night of reading, this is an amazing read.
The story has ups and downs. You simply cannot predict what will happen next (except the ending kind of). When you thought the MC got it in his hand, it slips. And when things are out of reach, the MC somehow grasped it. The story of the MC is the one that he achieved himself. He had spent blood sweat and tear to get the happy ending that he deserved.
Aside from the many story of betrayal, heartbreaking moments; I would highly recommend this if you can take them on. Honestly I think everyone can
...
read this since I am personally really bad at reading these kind of things.
My review isn't doing this manga justice, you have to try it to get the full experience.

We're reaching the fun part, It's gonna get much better but also sad because it maybe ending.
But this is truly one of the cutest manga I've ever read. I highly recommend reading this when you have free time. It's super wholesome.
The character and the story is just good. It's not boring, it's not cliche. This manga is different from the others in it's genre.
The setting might be common but the execution is really good. The 2 main character alone is enough to make me rate this highly. They make progress, they hesitate but soon build up the courage to finally confess (Unlike some other MC).
10/10
...
Would recommend this to a friend.

Looking from a oneshot perspective, this is worth your 5 minutes.
I would recommend it to all of you who loves romcom and sometimes want an emotional story.
You would get introduced to 2 main characters which love and care for eachother. Furthermore, you would even see normal things from a different perspective - Seeing it for the first time, trying out things for the first time. And this could be your first time seeing a story like this.
I enjoyed every second reading this oneshot and even re-read it and really think how I've spent my time. If I were them what would I do?
...
If you are limited by time, would you be yourself?
"Until death do us part"...

This is a solid manga but...
I will most likely not recommend it to those who actually cared about the plot. It wanted to criticize the Japanese Idol industry and to show how brutal it is. I'd say the writting is pretty clever but if you think about it twice things will fall apart and becomes unbearable to read. If you are looking for a manga with many waifus for you to choose or just wanted to read the fun part then it's really good.
I will go into further details below.
.
Spoiler alert:
-Story: 1/10:
+ It's just my personal opinion but, the story feels exaggerated and are sometimes
...
forced. The first few chapters were good, typical isekai stuff so I would not say it's bad. But nothing sticks to each other. Even the main plot wasn't respected. But let's take it in one by one.
The death of Hoshino Ai was exaggerated to show what the idol industry can do to a person. This goes the same with the Akane suicide attempt. Everything, everything is just a big fat No. It's just a terrible way of adding drama. Maybe he thinks that adding drama and depressing things is an easy way to achieve the level of "Your lie in April" or something.
Even if I think in a positive light, it's still bad. The death of Hoshino Ai was a loose end and the author never tied it. It's the main plot of the manga and it's gonna be developed by... Nothing. The author just added more characters literally just to get more things to write about and to think of a way to lengthen the manga. They literally serves no purpose. They are just there to have some goofy acting stuff, that's all. Although acting was a way for Aqua to avenger his mother, revenging Ai was never the main focus of the manga. The main focus of the manga I can see is just acting stuff. The author still tries and force the plot to be avenging Ai by sometimes adding developments to the main plot but that's it. He even forced Akane to have a purpose by making her find the culprit which she succeeded in but quite frankly I don't care.
If this was a generic romcom then I'd say everything is good. The scenes of them acting and such is great, nothing wrong with them. The only wrong thing is that they do not belong here.
- Character: 3/10: The characters are confusing. They do good developments but most feel forced.
+Hoshino Ai: A "realistic" character that does not feel realistic at all. I only found the "She was built from lies" part kind of true since she is an idol other than that it's just nothing. She had potential to become big in the manga but the author literally just said "No" and tried to make her death somewhat sad and to reveal the truth behind the Idol indsutry. But truth is that's all it serves. I called it a plot point because the author wanted it to be. She had potential only to became some replacable motivation.
+Hoshino Aquamarine aka Gorou: He's cool and all but I can't help but think there is nothing to him other than that. His literal motivation is just his mother's death nothing else.
+Other characters: Like I said above, absolutely useless. Just a device to add drama. Although they are made with intentions to factors the different factors of the idol industry I cannot help but feel like they are useless. They sure have interesting backstories like the acting prodigy that failed when she became older and the mangaka that trusts no one but that's about it. They serve no purpose to the plot.
-Art: 9/10 The character designs are pretty. Good drawing and stuff.

I cannot be happier after reading this Manga. Everything is executed perfectly.
First and foremost, the settings. Nothing is complete without the settings and this Manga kills it. Taking influences from Romeo and Juliet (Shakespeare) and combining it with our common highschool setting resulted in a magnificent setting.
Next is the story, everything from top to bottom is amazing. Not a boring, long storyline everything happens rapidly. From proposing, to oppositions, to making friends and making allies. Everything seems to
...
be perfect.
Then the characters. They play a big part in the story and each and one of them have an unique touch to their personalities. Some are tough on the outside but weak on the inside, some are strict but loose, some are just pure chaos. Oh and did I mention an actual good antagonist. She's not annoying to watch, everytime she makes a move hypes me up and overall an amazing antagonist. The protagonist (or should I say Protagonists) work together very well, though I'm a bit sad that I do not have the chance to see their daily life after marrying (yes I know I am demanding a sequel but I'm not pressuring.)
Overall, an amazing experience reading this manga. I would love to read more of the same kind as this. Thanks for reading my pointless review.

I don't wanna bash on the creator or the story but this has been quite an experience for me. It's unnecessary long, and it's getting to the point that it is slowly becoming unenjoyable to read.
You don't need an antagonist that literally just stick around and "destroy" the relationship. Can't deny, it's getting annoying after this is being applied for sometimes. Don't need another girl that's annoying af, ruins my experience.
The main, I don't hate him, I like these kind of main (at least he tried
...
tho). Chizuru is not too shabby either, still got that rom-com stuff there.
I've watched the anime and I gotta say, the anime is a solid 8/10 (Though I don't rate the anime's that I personally enjoy watching). I think the Manga is not doing justice for what the anime is trying to do (You know, keeping it actually relevant).
Thanks for reading this terrible review.
