Just quickly, without any spoilers for those of you wondering if this show is good? Holy crap, it is good, trust me, going into this show, I expected mediocrity, but it is anything but. It does the overpowered iseki protag thing in a really interesting way, Cid’s goals making it so he never shows that power to the public except when he’s Shadow, which makes it so stuff never feels dull. The show’s humour hits, and when it wants to be serious, it hits, and heck, when it wants to be hype, it also hits. Well this review is only for season one, as I ... haven’t seen the second as of writing this review, if you are looking for a good show, you needn’t look any further, as this show was so good that I have been stuck in a shock face for the last 10 minutes upon finishing the first season. That is all I have to say

Honestly it was meh at best. The animation was good, there was just a lot lacking I found when it came to other stuff. The main villains don’t have a clear backstory, which is made even more obvious when the big bad guy’s story is given to the viewer at the very end in a piece of small dialogue. The villain with the most known backstory still somehow has less revealed in the movie then a random substitute teacher I had once 5 years ago. Also may I just add that for a movie that has itself listed as a comedy on MAL, there is ... very little humour. Really the only joke I can recall hearing after seeing it is just a part of Yami’s normal “taking a crap” bit and even that joke couldn’t make me even think about giving a small smirk. They also tried a whole “I, the protagonist, see’s a bit of myself in this villain” plot line but had too little of Asta seemingly being conflicted for it to be useful at all. And don’t even get me started on the pacing, it went way too quick. I feel it might’ve been better paced if it were a few episodes instead. You know it’s bad when I would confidently say I am more hyped for the Miraculous Ladybug Movie than I ever was of this film.

Honestly I can't explain it, but this was not as bad as I expected :)
I looked at it and instantly though Diabolik Lovers and Dance with Devils but this is way better then those in my book. This ain't a weird supernatural wonderland written by a masochist (most likely), it actually didn't have romance!!! I honestly wish more shows took the direction this took with a big identity reveal that wraps up a mystery of the main character and impacted ___ amount of other characters due to relation with this answer.

All I am saying is it could've went down hill real fast but didn't :)

I never been big on idol anime but decided to give this one a try... needless to say it is a experience that I will forget :). The show is pretty much about rip off ____ Got Talent and all that. (SPOILER WARNING AHEAD)


For me it started out fine, I was enjoying myself some what... but then they just never had anyone voted off and pulled a FRIENDSHIP IS POWER cliché. I never hated this cliché so much until this show, even after watching my little pony AND not to mention ALL of Fairy Tail. Then after they had no one voted off ... they disqualified everyone and made it a point to say they are trying to grow as a idol group (without any help from big company's like the one that runs the competition). Then about a episode or two of working on their own they just get to GO BACK AND FINISH?!?!

Now for the other point, I have no problem with characters idolizing dead idols... BUT it kinda gets weird near the end, but to explain why I first need to explain the 2 main characters back story. Our 1st main character is Suzuna who had a bad heart condition when she was young, she would watch this one idol Akari Amazawa (she was quite a fan). One day she got a heart from a organ donor, and got to leave the hospital.
The 2nd main character is Rena, who is Akari Amazawa's younger sister trying to follow in the foot steps of her dead sister. Her sister became a organ donor. Now that you know that it will be easy to put the 2 together... Suzuna's heart belongs to her childhood idol. She figured this out along with Rena
At some point near the end of the series Suzuna passes out do to overworking herself, so she gets taken to the hospital and ain't waking up. Rena is also there cause she is concerned for her friend. After a bit the show shows the dream Suzuna is having, where she is being asked stuff by Akari. Also during this conversation our main character looks like their younger self after the heart transplant. Near the end of the conversation Akari says she will always be with our main character well having her hands over the scar from the transplant. If that ain't weird enough she wakes up and says she talked to Akari and that she said she would always be with her right in front of the relative of Akari who is already established to be quite sensitive about her sister due to her sister not spending much time with her after her success.

On another note I think Rena might see too much of her sister in Suzuna after figuring out her deceased older sister's heart is in her. Even to the point that right before their last performance she looks at her and see's (and also hears) her sisters voice saying what Suzuna is saying...

[Spoilers... obviously] [also just to add, I rewatched it like a year and a half after it came out and it’s rewatch value is actually pretty good]



I had more fun than I should have. This shows animation is horrible, but it wierdly enough made the show all the more better in this case. The show was almost always had bad 3D animation and sometimes a barely ok 3 second (at most) 2D animation. The story was ok until the last episode where it upgraded from ok to a slightly better version of ok. The characters are fine, but my personal favorite was the rip off ... Dio (in looks) that was a CIA agent that also said random things that made no sense, exept for the time he said "I didn't know you were a sadist". I like how dumb it is that Kuruma was named "Car" pretty much. The best part about all of this is that the people making this clearily never really took it seriously so it wasn't the kind of show that was meant to be good.Which makes it so instead of you pausing every few seconds out of cringe, pain and suffering, you just laughed at its stupidity. This is GOLD for people that love bad TV shows but don't want to deal with the after effects of a bottomless void of questioning why you were so much of a masochist that you made yourself suffer watching a show well also simultaneously giving yourself depression. 10/10 purely cause it didn't make me feel a void cause I realized I just wasted hours of my life watching bad trash instead of good trash.

I know you must be thinking it's a bit early to review a show that only has 5 episodes out at the moment, but I think it is a work of art. Usually in iseki shows the protagonist (main character) is fighting with a sword or magic, but in this show it's not like that. Sei (the main character) isn't even on the battle field, and I kind of love that cause it kind of explores what an iseki anime might be like if the protagonist never went into battle. Sei, is instead enjoying her life at a institute that makes potions out ... of herbs. This show in my opinion is so far the best anime of the season.

I hate all of the characters and I don't feel bad for them in the slightest, not cause I don't think what was done to them was horrible, but because their personalities are all dull to me. I especially dislike the brother of the main character for reasons only people who watched the show would guess. What he did still haunts my nightmares to this day (hint it is in the beach episode), it was disgusting. The story was decent, it had potential but it wasn't executed well. The are is good (to me at least), cause it doesn't look like a five or 12 ... year old made it ( this is the highest rating on here. The sound is fair, I can hear the show perfectly fine. The characters are pathetic, I feel really nothing but annoyed or lack of care for them besides the brother whom I hate. my enjoyment well watching this was poor cause there was no one I wanted to cheer on. I overall rate the series a 5/10, cause in the end I really would care less if it existed.
