This is the absolutely worst kind of anime. I'll try to break down what a piece of garbage this is, as best I can, without spoilers.
First, and most importantly, the ENTIRE premise of the show makes absolutely no sense. I'm not talking about the whole reincarnation issekai thing, I mean the motivations of the MC. The TL;DR of the plot is the MC is living a game she previously played and is now the antagonist in that game. The original antagonist and protagonist in the game had some sort of premonition power but now the MC just has her knowledge from having played the game.
...
Within the first 5 minutes of the first episode that the MC drastically alters the game world by her actions, and understands the implications of this. Take that in. Literally 5min in we are given this information, yet the MC seems to believe in some sort of predestined outcome with ABSOLUTELY NO evidence and as the series continues the overwhelming amount of evidence to the contrary. This means the entire motivations of the MC make absolutely no sense.
To make things worse, the MC's knowledge of the game is supposed to represent her "premonition" skill yet it isn't long before the world is totally different from the game world she had played. Why is this even still useful? Why does the MC not recognize that things are totally different? Which brings me to the next point which makes this so egregious...
The MC is super competent and brilliant. Totally forward thinking, strategic, empathetic, and mature sometimes but completely irrational, dense, unaware, and outright stupid the rest of the time. There is no logical consistency within the character as whole.
Now let's get into the "powers." I won't spoil anything but the powers are suddenly insanely powerful or totally useless basically as it suits the story. They have the most outlandish powers and use them for the dumbest reasons, then occasionally will be like "oh I could do this!" only to somehow immediately forget that fact soon after.
Lastly, what makes this such a horrible anime is that its actually kind of cute, charming, and fun. The characters are likeable in their own way, and the stakes feel real, and you can lean into the cheeze. Also, the anime seems to constantly place subtle hints about something more going on, a bigger picture, teasing a twist. There are so many opportunities to have made this interesting, and its like the writers didn't even see the nuggets they themselves had written. The story is just a bland execution of a flawed premise from ep 1 to 12 with everything playing out so blandly that the "what could have been" is the most cardinal sin of the entire show.
Trust me, you are better off not wasting your time watching this. It will pull you in and NEVER deliver.

I hope to add to this, in depth, in the future; but, for now I just want to simply say this: Coming from a 25+ year anime watcher with 700sh series watched, this anime has made my top 5 all time; pressed it might be top 3. I really don't know what more I can say to recommend this anime than that.
One thing I do need to point out, though, the series starts off slow. I really feel like this series is a true spiritual successor of LotR, and it takes some time to get the world built and the characters developed. I started
...
it 3 times, quit, then finally - thanks to my friend - watched to ep 5 or 6.... I then watched the entire season in a single sitting once it hits its stride. Trust me, give it until ep 6, and you'll find it impossible to stop watching after that.

This anime suffers from the most common problem of almost all "genius" animes. The supposed geniuses are actually super stupid. The only time you aren't 10 steps ahead of every character is when the story deliberately hides critical information from the viewer. I like to think I'm pretty smart, I probably am too arrogant for my own good - thinking I'm smarter than I actually am... BUT, I certainly don't think I'm like one of the hundred or even 10 thousand smartest people on earth. The main char is supposed to be 1 in 100million. Think of that mathematically... that's 10 per billion - lets
...
be generous and call that top 1/100 on earth. Everyone he is associated with is supposed to be the top 1/100,000 on earth AT MINIMUM. Somehow, I'm way smarter than all of them! Stupid people shouldn't write stories about how they perceive brilliant people to be. The entire story is predicated on one certain kind of intelligence trumping all other types, yet the characters aren't even smart enough to use this one "ultimate form of intelligence which is more valuable than all other types of intelligence combined" in any actually brilliant or surprising ways. This show is basically the story of a dumber, less interesting, sherlock holmes in high-school and without any actual end-goal.

This anime suffers from trying to draw things out too much. You sit and wait for the thing which you know is going to happen for 6 episodes only to NOT have it happen - WAIT TILL S3 - and stay interested is the money-grubber's plan.
The premise, the enemies, the relationships, etc. have stayed ENTIRELY the same since ep1s1. If you threw in some kind of new info that changed things, or additional chars that actually added something you didn't know then you could justify the lagging story. Sad truth is, though, the entire story is just a tease. It is setting up a
...
"moment" viewers want, and then constantly denying them that gratification so they keep watching. There is no real story or plan, just bait to make you watch more.
Its gimmicky, its pathetic, and its a sign of writers and a studio who only care about money and not story or their fans. PLEASE STOP WATCHING THIS!

I have years of anime and hundreds of series under my belt. I speak Japanese, have lived in Japan, and have watched anime from 12 until my current age (almost 40). So, let me say with as much experience as a person can have, approaching anime from the multiple different angles it can be approached from, and having tons of experience - socially as well as linguistically- this is the single worste anime I have EVER seen. I got trapped into watching it because I thought there might be some clever way all the stupidity might tie into some big reveal. Spoiler* it doesn't. I
...
can't even express how much I hate this anime. It might be the worst piece of trash ever made. Do not waste your time!

TBH I found this anime interesting to start but one of the worst anime, no worst pieces of media, i've seen in my life by the end. This anime is the perfect example of characters doing things for absolutely no reason except to further your story... the actions the characters take get more and more absurd as the story goes on, to where it reaches a point that if you just randomly picked the dumbest, most illogical, most absurd thing a character might choose to do then you are probably closer to the answer than what ay kind of inference based on their character building
...
might infer. I mean, I honestly can't even write more... this anime is so bad it insulted me. Worst of all, it is pretty good until like ep 7, so it forces you to watch more in hopes that it will redeem itself. IT DOESN'T! DO NOT WATCH THIS PIECE OF TRASH!

The entire premise of this show just bugs me to no end... First and foremost, the idea that a "striker" is the most important player on the field is a HUGE assumption that could be discussed in numerous ways, but I'll just mention the fact that goalkeeper seems to be ignored as a prime reason this show is already junk. Want to check basically any league? You'll find the teams with best keepers are the most winning. But, ok let's ignore that. WTF is a striker in modern soccer? Traditionally its a mid-foreward when you run an archaic offense that wouldn't win anything in modern
...
soccer (the premise of bluelock from the getgo). Soccer is a TEAM sport! Messi plays center mid, center forward, wing forward. Ronaldo plays mostly wing forward, center forward, and even center full-back in counterstrike. The entire concept of running an offense through a "striker" as opposed to "a system based on the talent of the players you have" is so far from modernization that it makes the concept of the show embarrassing. Also, let's get real, real. No amount of fancy anime magic is going to make you 4 inches taller, 20 lbs heavier, 1 second quicker, 3mph faster, or 2x stronger. Good sports animes address these realities. Terrible ones make up BS to act like "my special absorb skill, or hawk eye view" can make up for all of my other deficiencies. NO! THEY CANNOT! If you are looking for a fantasy where you think I could have been a pro soccer player-despite being small, weak, slow, untalented- then yes, this is for you! But, if you like sports anime that shows real sports and players with talents and limitations... well... not gonna be found here.

I rarely write reviews for anime because as an OG with literal YEARS of watched anime under my belt these comment sections are usually just too much for me... Look at my profile, and you can see how little I engage in this stuff versus my anime experience.
I felt like I had to chime in on this anime because of some of the vitriol that has been directed at it and the claims that "it is just like every other generic Isekai anime out there."
I honestly can't understand the amount of hate most people are pouring into this anime unless they haven't actually watched it...
...
TBH, my assumption is that a lot of anime fans struggle with self-aware anime and can't tell when something is deliberately playing on a trope in order to emphasize the differences; which brings me to my next point: this anime is NOT like all other standard Isekai anime.
Yes, the person is reincarnated as a sword, and the sword is super OP which might make it sound like an isekai with a minor twist similar to reincarnated as a slime (monster instead of a person). That; however, couldn't be further from the truth. Within the first few moments of the show they allude to many things which make this anime different. The sword's need for a wielder, dealing with how he is changed into the sword and it's effects on his personality, how he "feels at home" in the stone or a scabbard. These are all things told to you in the first few moments of the first episode that, if you continue watching, will illustrate how this show is different from a standard isekai.
To avoid spoilers I will lay it out simply like this:
1) The anime avoids overt sexualization of females, a harem concept, and a pervy entitled male protagonist who still can't actually make a choice on a woman or act on his desires.
2) The main character(s) and their relationships with others can make it questionable who the main character actually is; and the relationships in the story are a type of relationships not often shown/ explored in anime.
3) the story is not a domination fantasy where the character is OP and crushes all
Overall, this anime does bare resemblance to anime like: Reincarnated as a slime and mushoku tensai... but it also has its own unique flavor. Furthermore; I think that's pretty excellent company to keep.
