I wouldn't recommend this show to someone who hasn't watched a lot of anime. The MC is initially a pretty disgusting person, not necessarily in personality but let's just say... in his preferences... Which unfortunately will turn a lot of people away immediately. That's a shame, because the overarching message of this story is that even the lowest of the low can be redeemed if they want it and work hard towards that goal. As the story progresses, he becomes a very admirable person and the process of him getting there is quite the tale. In my opinion, Mushoku Tensei is on par with Lord

The first half of this season is objectively bad. The pacing was completely demolished by skipping the training arc, and a lot of characterization for Rishia and the Bow Hero were lost. The missing backstory really affects the viewers' relationship with Rishia, because without it, why would we care about her like we do Raphtalia and Filo?
That said, the plot and pacing in the second half were pretty good... But the fights are starting to get repetitive in the way they're resolved. I want to make a joke about it but then this review wouldn't be spoiler free. Despite all that, the season is still enjoyable ... |
