A movie well worth waiting for, in my opinion at least, but it is not without a few flaws.
So, to begin with, the netflix translation was absolutely terrible and it made the movie feel like it was written by a child, for children; At times it was almost embarrassing to read, I'm not sure as to what the reasoning was for the translation being so shoddy but I'm sure that it was intentional as the things that were mistranslated were basic japanese, or maybe they were just lazy as at times they spelt Astas name as "Astor" and every time there was a sound effect,
...
it was labelled as Asta making it, eg "asta grunts."
My only other qualm with the movie is the storytelling and pacing of the movie which felt rather off, to give an example, the villains motives behind acting why he does isn't properly explored until much later which left you unnecessarily guessing. The time at which this movie is set in black clover is also a bit blurry, its said that its after Asta has been outcast by the royalty, but before the latter part of the anime, if the events before the movie took place were properly outlined, it would have made the movie much easier to follow.
The best parts of this movie were the music (as usual) and animation, the fights felt fun to watch and activated all the necessary neurones so the movie is thoroughly enjoyable, I highly recommend to anyone, especially those who have actually watched black clover, the movie was hype and left you wanting more.
In conclusion watch if you want to smile and get a dose of black clover after all this time, but don't have unrealistically high expectations for storytelling or pacing as you'll be disappointed, just watch and enjoy while taking it at face value.
