Gingitsune

A young girl gets entangled with supernatural beings after the loss of her mother. These two anime are common on the grounds of a protagonist sharing the secret of seeing and sharing life with the supernatural being (in the case of Fruits Basket it's the Sohma family and in the case of Gingitsune it's the spirits at the shrine). The protagonists themselves are similar in that they are very positive, loving and want the best out of everyone they interact with. The art style is somewhat similar as well. However, I would say Fruits Basket has a little more romance and the story behind the surrounding characters is darker, whereas the story of Gingitsune is best described as light-hearted and portrayed in a slice-of-life style.

Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai!
add

Whilst the storylines of these two anime are super different, the overall feel of the anime are very similar. "Listen to me, girls. I am your Father!" is a heart-warming story of how a young college student becomes the interim father to three young (and super adorable!) girls and the sense of togetherness that develops from living together as a family. Toradora is about a boy who sort of decides to take care of another girl (who wants to be taken care of, but is really aggressive towards him). Both these anime take time to develop deeper connections between the characters by forcing them to live together and see each other through ups and downs.

Servant x Service
add

Both of them have a similar humour: an interesting bunch of characters are put in very awkward and hilarious situations. I would say Danshi Kakousei no Nichijou is more about mini comedic snippets whereas Servant x Service has a more detailed plot behind it (even though it doesn't seem like it at the beginning). Both are really funny!

Durarara!!

Both of these anime simply ooze of urban coolness and have very cool music to fit the scenes as well! Lots of action sprinkled throughout the anime and the stories of a diverse range of characters come together to form one massive plot-line. Deep but super cool is pretty much how I would sum it up for both these anime.

Kobato.
add

The main characters in both the anime are very similar in that they appear to be slightly dumb, but really, they are very sweet and have the most incredibly positive spirit. On top of that, the overall heart-warming feeling you get from watching Fruits Basket is the same feeling you get from watching Kobato.

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun
add

Haru (the main guy character in Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun) definitely reminds me of Usui (the main guy character in Kaichou wa Maid sama) in that they both tag along constantly with the main girl character and they act strangely around her in order to show that they like her. Also, the girl protagonists in both are stubborn and confused about how they feel about the guy protagonist. Definitely try both if you like romantic comedies!

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun
add

In both of them, the main girl character discovers that there's more to life than studying. Both girl characters also struggle to discover their true feelings, and both anime have romance in them. However, Paradise Kiss seems to be a more serious type of romance story whereas Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun is much more light-hearted.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama!
add

In both, the main character is trying to hide a secret about herself which would otherwise damage her reputation. They're both also pretty light-hearted and have similar art. However, I would say La Corda D'Oro is slightly more serious and revolves around music, whereas Kaichou wa Maid Sama is a bit more comical and revolves around the romance between the Misa and Usui.

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate

If you like shows about clubs and school activities but you also like seeing a bit of romance and character development, Special A and Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate are in a similar league. They're both cute, funny and light-hearted without being superficial. The characters and storyline are a bit different for the two, but the overall feel of the anime are very similar.
