Summer Wars has satisfied my hunger for an old favorite with a modern update.

STORY:
If you have ever seen Digimon the Movie, then Summer Wars shouldn't be new to you. With a couple of tweeks in the stroy, Summer Wars basically follows the plot of Digimon the Movie: cyber terrorism, viruses, computers, team work. However, do not let this discourage you from watching Summer Wars. Although similiar, Summer Wars is very enjoyable and is definitely worth watching.

QUALITY:
720p and 1080p versions are available and look very very good on plasma screens.

ANIMATION:
Animation definitely plays a big part in Summer Wars. The CGI, fight scene, character expressions, and scenery ... of the movie is amazing. The makers definitely did not take short cuts and reuse scenes or animations.

OVERALL:
Summer Wars is a movie worth watching. Entertaining in a sense of comedy, fight scenes, and classic Digimon style animation. The story keeps you interested the whole way through and moves at a good pace not leaving any details without explanation.

Beck Mongolian Chop Squad:

STORY:
First off, Beck has a very original story, at least of the animes i've seen. Forget the highschool drama and demons. Beck introduces the side of music only a quarter of the world realizes. Music that is true, from the heart, and has no segregation. Screw the catchy boy band pop music bands. Beck represents the cultural and music loving side of rebellious youths. With catchy rap,punk music and a mix of american lyrics with a hint of japanese accent, Beck will make you air guitar, bass, and drum until the brink of dawn. Beck's realization of music and what it truly ... means is definitely the strong point of the anime.

QUALITY:
Sadly Beck is not in 720p nor 1080p. The audio you would hope, would be that of cd quality but sadly i found myself losing touch of the bass and second guitar. In addition, blasting it really loud in the hopes of reenacting a live concert wont work either...

EPISODES:
Beck could take forever to tell its story. With no solid key events other than concert times, Beck is just a free rolling anime. However, several events will happen in an episode and will leave you wanting to know what happens next. Becks build up is slow but at the end it will make you want to know why you havnt seen this anime earlier.

OVERALL:
Beck is a great anime for those who are just getting into music. Following the steps of the main character as he goes from amateur to pro. Beck points out how musicians see and listen to music as opposed to an average somebody. If you love music, Beck is the perfect anime for you.

I have never seen Cowboy Bebop nor will i make any connections relating the two. This review is solely based after watching Samurai Champloo.

STORY:
Not the most complex of stories and most of the series feels like a bunch of fillers. There are little bits of clues here and there but overall any episode could easily be mistaken for the second episode. However, Samurai Champloo is another anime in which the actual enjoyment comes from the personality of each character. Try to show your friends an episode that you cried laughing to and they just wouldn't understand...

QUALITY:
Samurai Champloo is available in 1080p and 720p via fansub ... and bluray disk. Personally i was content with the 720p versions sent out by Cman. Visually, Samurai Champloo is a collaboration of japanese portraits itself with its unique drawings. Animation can get a little weak at times but graphics are crisp.

EPISODES:
Every episode feels like a filler except for a hand full of episodes explaining the characters backgrounds and personality. But in the end, each episode strengthens the relationship between the characters and the person watching the anime. Notably, the baseball episode is Hilarious after establishing all the characters.

MUSIC:
Samurai Champloo has to have one of the best OSTs. Influenced by traditional Japanese and underground hip hop, Samurai Champloo will leave you searching for more artists under the hip hop genre. Powerful opening by Nujabes and just overall great composure, Samurai Champloo blends greatly with its soundtrack.

OVERALL:
Although Samurai Champloo falls short of a solid original story it makes up with short laugh episodes. Its one of those animes where waiting one week for a new episode will in the end piss you off. However, strong music and character relationships saves this anime from being over looked.

43 episodes into the anime and im still yearning for more... Im not one to know exactly what anime is a 10 or a 4 but when i watch an anime i either like it or dont.

STORY:
Fairy Tail is so simple that its enjoyable. The story is not as complex as fma or death note for that matter but it is suffice. If your looking for a rich plotted anime then this isnt it. Rather Fairy Tails appeal comes with its rich comedy and strong character development.

QUALITY:
In addition, Fairy Tail is broad casted in HD so for hardcore quality anime lovers Fairy Tail ... hits the spot. Fansubs like Hiyono will have ever episode in 720p which is a definite plus when it comes to picking an anime. The 720p looks great on a big screen and Fairy Tail does not reuse a lot of scenes except for your occasional special attacks but that gets removed 15 or so episodes in.

EPISODES:
Episodes feel fairy long because several events will happen in one episode unlike other animes such as bleach or naruto.... Fairy Tail is very funny and they tend not to reuse jokes unlike Inuyasha. The soundtrack and voice acting are both amazing and ost are available.

OVERALL:
Fariy Tail out does your typical stereo type anime. Unlike One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Fairy Tail is the underdog and is a run for your time. You will not come to the end of an episode and wonder why you are still watching it but rather try to keep yourself sane until next weeks episode comes out.
