Detroit Metal City is everything that i would haven't expected. From the get go i just though it was weird, but then i saw the first episode and notice how wrong i was. I truly could not stop laughing and not only that but the show its self is completely original in the anime realm. Its pure gold, pure unpolished dirty rich gold. Its filled with really good satire.

Story 6
First the story is pretty generic, yet unexpected, as its about ... a college graduate who wanted to be come famous singing love songs and ends up being the main singer in a heavy metal band, and has to portray very dreadful yet humorous character. Forced to say and do things that are outlandish, s the main singer, he brings most of the laughter in the series. Also its popular culture shaming its what makes this series so funny.

Art: 6
Well there isn't much to say since is a low budget ova series. It's not impressive in any since, its not memorable in any faction, yet it has its charm and uniqueness that helps with the comedy itself, so overall its fair.

Sound: 9
Well, the music in the series was good and also the voice acting was good. Now i give it a 9 because as a fan of heavy metal and soft music and everything in between i found it amusing and the lyrics of the songs funny. Now if you don't like your favorite genres being made fun off, or if as a musician you believe it wasn't impressive you can lower the score your self, but to me it did great and felt that it was refreshing.

Character: 6

The characters where amusing yet not progressive, if anything static for the most part, except for the MC, as he descends into madness. The MC its complicated individual ans i loves soft pop music and his forced to make dead metal music, which hates, and end up creating a second personality that he uses with the dead metal costume , which in the long wrong causes problems as he starts to blend personalities and such, but i wont say much more. Saying whats about will ruin the comedy.

Enjoyment: 10

IT is really fun to watch, the comedy is outstanding, and full of satire. I could not stop laughing, its just comedy genius. Though if it may make some people offended since it just makes fun of pop music cultures and take them to the extreme, which i find amusing, but i know that others wont.

Overall: 7
It is a good series, yet it is not with out flaws, which i forgive, since its point is made. Its a fun short series full of satire and crazy characters. Its really worth your time as long as you enjoy good original comedy filled with satire.

Well, i dint expect anything when i added this series to my list this season, nor was i aware it was from the studio that brought us clannad. At first i thought it was a high school comedy, and while it has its moment, with time it hits with a sudden rise in plot development, where tension and mystery to the point that it hooks you up ot the point that you cant wait for the next chapter. Indeed i was surprised and i must say that this series has its hidden gem that can be seen upon its initial superficial look. Its a series ... that slowly wraps you up with its slow well done development. Sure it there are a lot lighthearted funny moments, but there is also a ton serious moments that make the plot move at the right moments, without leavng plot holes in the midst.
In the end i do recommend this series as it feels like a real slice of life, it has school drama( bit cliche but its kept to a minimum) with pieces of supernatural phenomenons, which make the series all the better.

Story: I t develops well, and when it has to. There are no plot holes as the plot moves slowly while explaining everything, which means that patience is required, as it wont give you everything from the get go. In the end this series is everything you don't expect as it tends to get serious really fast, and cliffhangers appear, as it is a series as hole and not a bunch small arcs.

Art: Awesome, at times cute, but why expect anything else, when its Aniplex and PA WORKS the ones that are involved, and they never fail at delivering high quality entertainment.

Sound: Again Aniplex is involved, so of course it is good.

Characters: Well the developments of the character is well balance, like i said before, this is a series that develops at balanced precise pace. Bits of information for each character are given at their own time in ways that are not to obvious, and it was that does not get in the way of the story development, as it wont stop progression just to show you a hole episode of a characters past, Besides it's a 13 episode series so they cant afford to do that, since plot is primordial. Like i said this producers are making this series in a very smart way.

Enjoyment: well i love mystery as of recently, and i have always been a fan of slice of life series, as they tend to give simple yet fun stories. And if plot twists are right in your alley that this series will do you good.

Overall. It is a fun series, and is worth watching. I cant give it a perfect score as the series is not without flaws, but in many ways it makes up for its flaws by providing a main character, that evolves really well toward the end.

Its a 8.5 in my books

At first i tried to resist watching the series and ignored it for a long time. But years later i diced to give Kimi to Boku a try. Best decision regarding anime i have made in a while, as i need it a different kind of anime. A anime i can chill with after a long day of work, which is why it jit the mark. This anime by no meas is pure comedy nor drama, nor any of the usual we get now a day.

This one is more a down to earth slice of life following the life of 5 high school ... friends dealing with everyday situations. It is a very calm show but not slow paced, is just what you would see in your days at high school, calm normal lives with a bit of drama, a few funny moments and a couple of unrequited and requited loves. Just perfect if you ask me. A simple anime chill ride, like the doctor ordered it.


Story: it is there, it is a slice of life and a pretty good normal one. Though it requires a certain mood and taste. Then again just one episode and i got soaked in by its relaxing atmosphere and nicely pace events, that while amazing, they were genuine.
Anyways no plot twist no giant developments just normal actual lives, so for those looking for your usual fill of exciting anime, your are in the wrong place. Now if you just feeling like chilling and looking back into the old high school days where nothing ever happened but you you still had fun, than this is your feel. Unless you had some kind of horrible experience in high school, which well oh well moving on....... Still its a chill nice story worth your time.

Art: Nice, a bit outdated, but nice. From the same studio that brought you ANOHANA, with the same relaxing soothing colors and art. The animation was well done, not amazing, but yeah just about right and precise in how it needs to be, not fancy, yet soothing.

Sound:
Well the songs well both the opening and ending songs were about friendship and sharing and when in tune and went in accordance with the scenes that the opening presented. And in a way the songs got stocked in my head. Truly nice tracks.

Characters: Perfect voicing for each character. The 5 of them and Mary were so fun to watch as they hanged out, That in real life they would be nice to me and befriend. Additionally they are all well defined as we get to see enough background, and you know what again they seem like they would be really nice people.

But anyways the producers did a good job with the characters, which is always crucial for a slice of life to work. Why? in slice of life anime, its all about the characters and their daily life.

Enjoyment:

Well if you haven't noticed, i enjoyed this series. It wasn't exciting nor amazing but calm and fun. Truly one of the better anime. Of course there are other anime like this one just search for them and you will be surprised.
