Boku no Hero Academia is constantly on a adrenaline rush. It jumps from one emotional swell to another without any quiet, subtle, reflective moments.

It is a typical shonen anime and the main audience is young boys which both helps and hurts the show. It helps by encouraging charismatic and interesting characters. The action is original and fun. The animation and score sell the scenes to great effect.

At the same time, it is a detriment because limits nuance and mature storytelling. The show has a lot of great themes: definition of heroism, whether people are born better or can become better with effort, the line between ... good and evil, the role of parents and mentors, and general coming of age themes. But, the show lacks the follow through to address them well and just hopes that the intense music and crying will convey the message.

In the end I had a lot of fun, but it felt hollow. There was a lot of potential for a unique anime, but the creators felt the need to cater to the expectations of the audience rather that be innovative and surprising. It is not anime for the ages, but I doubt that, that was the goal.

Follows directly after the events of Buddy Complex and kinda ties up all the unanswered questions but at the same time creates some new ones. Anytime you deal with time travel, you are gonna be left scratching your head to a certain extent.
The story is rushed quite a bit, the second episode, is basically a clip real going through all the time loops to piece everything together in a matter of minutes, something that should have been given an entire two parter by itself. A mistake that they made was introducing some new elements like Aoba being a senpai so a new pilot and new ... coupling system. You only have two episodes, finish what you started people.
And there is one thing that was present in the first series that struck me even more here is the body count. A LOT of people die and good guys bad guys, Aoba and his crew killing people, and in my opinion not enough attention is put on that. Aoba is a kid straight out of highschool, he should be struggling with the fact that he kills people on a consistent basis. There is a part in this were half the fleet and an entire base in obliterated and all they do is gasp. That was almost 1000 people that just died. But they ignore it, which bothers me, but i still like the show despite it.
I liked it just because i like Buddy Complex and i liked seeing the characters again, but overall it's pretty meh with a hint of disappointment. In the end it's a kind of special that you just gotta watch to get a bit of closure.

Niseko is completely unbareable. It is a romance manga with crap romance. It is a comedy manga with crap comedy. Sure it is well drawn and started out with a solid premise, but i could not push myself to continue reading.
The whole plot is a love triangle. There is nothing else really. There is no other goals they have to achieve. There are no club activities or mysteries to solve. The plot is the romance. and that is not necessarily a bad thing. But the romance is just so weak. Most of the time the characters are just yelling at each other or having over ... the top reactions. There is barely a moment where we can slow things down and actually have some proper romantic moments. Even the moments that are meant to be cute and fluffy are just destroyed by sloppy paneling, and the characters just immediately ruining the mood by yelling or trying to pull some gag. Everything is just so fast paced and crude that is just unreadable .
I don't find it particularly funny. There are no good gags or jokes. The only 'laughs' come from the reaction gags which occur so often that it is just annoying. I am just yelling is my mind "THEY ARE TRYING TO HAVE A MOMENT STOP RUINING IT!!!!".
It started out well, a likeable guy, stuck between a transfer student, and a childhood friend, but just devolved into sloppy pacing and yelling.
Even though this is a 'shounen' manga i was hoping for something better. Ifthis the shounen version of romance then count me out.
