10/10 - good show, this shit like Zombieland (2009), if you like Zombieland watch this show
This show gets a 10/10 because it does everything I expect a High School of the Dead clone to basically do. It's a simple premise but that's the charm of it. Even though the studio had issues with production delays and deadline/postponed episodes, they still nailed it out of the park with this one!!!
Everyone complaining about this show is asking for a Walking Dead clone written by Martin Scorsese himself and don't know how to appreciate light hearted shows - like this shit got Dead Rising combo weapons, psychopath bosses,
...
etc.
You watch this show for the fun factor, not to be esoteric and philosophical - at that point go read a book.

Almost-perfect sequel, 9/10.
Goblin Slayer Season 2, like Vinland Saga Season 2, focuses a lot more on the philosophical-esoteric aspects of the story and main cast rather than the fights. That being said, the sequel may not be for everyone who came for the fights - don't get me wrong there's still plenty of cool fights but the combat was more intense with higher stakes and cooler set pieces in Season 1.
However, this change allows more of Goblin Slayer's party, personality, and history to be fleshed out, as well as more of the DnD setting to be explored. He gets to explore elven lands, go
...
to the royal capital, etc. with my favorite running gag being him casually and efficiently dispatching monsters way above his weight only for him to nonchalantly brush it off and state how goblins are more troublesome. Meanwhile characters such as the Priestess and Elf Archer get their own side stories focusing on themes like Priestess' struggle with her faith in her earth goddess, her inexperience and maturity relative to her party, and the Tolkienian theme of mortality and love between a long-lived race and short-lived race. The show communicates this pivot towards more DnD worldbuilding by showing off races we never saw in the first season, which was very human-centric, such as a centaur waitress at the guild within the first episode and more exotic monsters.
The show also makes Goblin Slayer experience a Ryan Gosling moment by the end of the second episode but he bounces back by the end of the arc, reminding viewers he's only human and though he makes mistakes he's still a real hero. This alludes to the more mature themes this show later explores in detail regarding our protagonist's gradual re-humanization, his long term goals, his dreams, his larger macroscale impact on the world around him, etc.
On the surface, the premise is simple but the worldbuilding and themes this season explores gives it a lot of depth, just like the novels. The ending (credits animation) places a lot of emphasis on Cowgirl, Elf Archer, and Priestess highlighting their increased presence in the spotlight this season. The opening alludes to this a bit with that closing shot of Goblin Slayer walking towards Cowgirl and the farm as a place of peace and refuge similar to how Russell Crowe's character walks the Elysian fields in Gladiator, but I digress. I can go on analyzing every frame, episode, etc. but just watch the show and/or read the novels - you'll see what I mean.
All in all, this sequel is a perfect follow-up to Season 1 in my professional, biased, but based opinion as it places more of a focus on the human aspects of Goblin Slayer, his party, and the side characters they interact with. People from Season 1 (and the movie) make reappearances and contribute to the story, Goblin Slayer gets to kick goblin ass in fashion, and his folk legend status grows ever more.
Basically if you like mature stories with depth, good worldbuilding, and goblin genocide, then this season is right up your alley!

[Score: 9/10] - Great show, so great that it's getting a second season, which is noteworthy for a new original series.
Approved by Hideo Kojima.

The first episode sums up the show pretty well within the first minutes reeling you in with cute, drippy anime girls and awesome action sequences involving lots of guns. The pacing and story-telling is done very well, as it doesn't feel rushed yet it manages to throw a curveball at the viewer every 2-4 episodes to hook you in even more with each morsel of plot development.
For the more intellectual watchers, this show also explores deeper themes - simple yet always
...
present and relatable concepts such as the value and gift of life, parenthood and living up to expectations, and one's own agency to determine their own paths in life.
Overall, this show is an amazing entry for 2022's roster of anime with serious potential to become a bigger franchise if done right.
It's straight to the punch - if you like watching cute girls shoot lots of guns in a kick-ass fashion this show is for you.
Summary:
+Great Action and Animation - this show's action sequences slap, some really smooth animations
+Great VA's and Characters - both protagonists and antagonist casts are written well, being likeable and/or interesting
+Great visuals and character designs - good art, good op, good ed, characters have drip
+Great soundtrack and sound design - songs go hard
+Great story with simple, yet deep and relatable themes
-Has one very minor discrepancy with how the story is presented with how certain plot developments were rationalized

6/10. Mediocre at best - Skip.
This show would be better received if the order that the story was shown wasn't so convoluted and had more unique characteristics.
This is a show I could've skipped without losing sleep, and one that you should too. It's neither bad or good, it's just not memorable.
In spite of that, I still enjoyed the show a bit when it first aired otherwise I wouldn't have gone through the troubles of rewatching and cross-referencing the different episodes to piece out the story together in chronological order.
The only things that set this show aside for me from the other generic seasonals that aired
...
at the time were the character designs.
There were certain character arcs and relationships that were slightly interesting. Certain themes that, although cliche or done already, could've been executed and adapted well, but that's about it.

Score: 9/10
+Great romance
+Good action
+Dynamic story with plot twists and fantasy trope subversions as well as likeable characters
+Colorful art with good opening song and passable soundtracks
+More than meets the eye story and themes that may hit home to young viewers
-Slightly rushed ending, but the show still ends on a satisfying note
(read below for a more in-depth spoiler-free review)
TL;DR - Show subverts expectations and slice of life tropes, tackling relatable dilemmas and themes that may hit home to many young viewers. The story actually moves forward and character relationships are masterfully handled in a mature, natural, and wholesome/cute way especially with regard to the romance. In addition,
...
it is a fantasy setting and comes with good action. I don't like slice of life shows so I rarely watch them because I find them boring or too slow since usually nothing happens. This show is the rare exception. On top of that it's actually a fantasy show and not an isekai so it gets bonus points for being original.
The Details:
This show is misleading in the sense that it's a slice of life show, it's actually more than just living the slow life. It's a show about discovering what you really want to do in life, what you want for yourself, and how you want to live your own life. It dives into the dilemma of a skilled adventurer who tries to live a slow, relaxing life after retiring early after being kicked out of the Hero's party. Throughout the show, there are interruptions to his idle life such as events threatening the town, petty or jealous disputes from rivals, and old acquaintances asking for old favors. As a result, it also isn't boring, it actually has a dynamic story as well as enjoyable action segments. The ending was a little bit rushed, but aside from that the show maintains good pacing.
Side characters won't be super memorable months after finishing the show but they weren't annoying or written in poor taste, they're actually cool neighbors. The MC and his lover however will be memorable as a testament to their spectacularly sweet budding romance. This show somehow doesn't have a romance tag yet it manages to build up a great couple in less than 6 episodes in a way that's done better than most other romcoms/romance shows. And the romance is handled wonderfully and realistically without relying on anime tropes such as tsunderes playing hard to get, or the generic nerd who turns into a handsome hero who suddenly gets all the girls by simply breathing or saying nice things about their hair from your typical power fantasy isekai. This couple actually has history as a couple and goes through things together as a human couple, blossoming with each further step they take with their love life. It's an equal relationship where both partners want and need each other in their life, as well as one where they don't shy away from holding hands and acting shy as if they were still middle schoolers. Essentially, it's an adult relationship, and we don't get a lot of those in anime these days, so seeing something cute, wholesome, and spicy definitely brought this anime up on my tier list.

Synopsis: heartbroken Discord mod takes home cute, vulnerable teenage kitten and grooms her into a better individual without judging her past and her insecurities <3
[Story] - common runaway girl story, not original, but it's executed well for a romance/drama anime with good amounts of wholesome/cheeky humor; story is relatable as it can be seen as a commentary on one of Japan's modern, first-world problems: runaway girls ; story also is good insight on the real and common issue of dysfunctional families
[Character] - protagonist is a Chad who respects women ; main girl is cute and needs to be protected (which main character does) ; other
...
characters are written well and subverted my expectations as they were all mature, realistic, and likeable
Rating: I think the anime deserves an 8/10 since it's a pretty unique and risky take on the type of romance story where there's an age gap that forces the two lovers to reunite in the future when they're both older and mature enough to realize if their affections for each other was true love or simply infatuation and puppy love. The risk comes from the age gap and the fact that it's rather reflective of an actual issue Japan has with runaway girls

[Spoiler-FREE Review]
As the third and final act to the trilogy, the movie scores a 10/10 in all departments. Ufotable truly has blessed us during this global pandemic with this magnum opus. A perfect parting gift for what appears to be the last adaptation they will be doing for the Fate Stay Night franchise, as they move towards grander projects with titles such as Demon Slayer (Kimetsu No Yaiba) and the Tsukihimi Remake.
[STORY]
The story, being adapted from the Visual Novel, is adapted well and faithfully, outdoing even the novel's depiction of some fan favorite scenes going beyond plus ultra. For someone who has kept up with
...
the franchise, the way this movie ends the trilogy will leave you satisfied and fulfilled, having seen the Fate Stay Night trilogy to its climatic and thematic end. It ties together all the themes and character development/profiles built up in Fate Zero and Fate UBW, paying homage to them all. This is the one route where I can faithfully say that each and every character had a satisfying conclusion to their arc.
[ART]
We all know that Ufotable is godly with their animation team and budget. We have all seen Unlimited Budget Works and Demon Slayer. But this movie blows both shows' art out of the water with its blockbuster budget. If you were lucky enough to see this movie in theaters, then you have been blessed by God. For those who have watched the movie already, I only have to mention one scene: KYRIE ELEISON.
[SOUND]
The Music and VFX team did a SPLENDID job. The lead composer is a GENIUS. The EMIYA THEME REMIX IS PERFECT ENCASPULATION OF THE FRANCHISE, paying respects to the original rendition with a musical call and response while also being a representation of Shirou and Archer together. The rest of the soundtrack is also just as good. The composer uses many elements and samples from the soundtracks from the previous shows, incorporating elements and musical motifs from Fate Zero and UBW, paying homage to artists like Kalafina. This in turn, adds to the feeling of the movie being a true finale to the Fate Stay Night series, going full circle and expanding upon all the musical themes of Zero and UBW while also introducing new sounds and instrumentals to truly embody the theme of Heaven's Feel.
[CHARACTER]
I already chimed in on how each side character had a satisfying conclusion to their arcs so I'll talk a bit about the protagonist.
The heroism and humanity of Shirou Emiya undoubtedly shines the most in this movie, building upon all the previous routes adapted by Ufotable, as well as himself in the previous two movies. He goes from a flawed, weak individual to a heroic figure who surpasses his own limits to become an unlikely hero for those he love and cares for. The trilogy follows his dynamic character development, with this movie capping it all off and showing the viewers what the end result of his development leads to.
People may not have liked Shirou's stale development and Shounen-tard personality in UBW, but in Heaven's Feels, he truly is a tragic character that has evolved to become someone beautiful. He has surpassed his father and his rivals, eclipsing both of them and overcoming his limitations that bounded him to his father's flawed ideals while incorporating elements of his own desires into it. He evolved his own ideals and beliefs using his father's as the base, and is now showing how he applies them into his reality. He has shaped his own path and is applying maximum determination to see his desires to the end.
[Final Words]
If you made it this far and you still haven't watched the movie yet, go and watch it. For anyone new to Fate, watch Fate Zero and Fate Unlimited Blade Works (UBW) first. You will appreciate this movie trilogy much more that way as you will appreciate how much the trilogy builds upon both shows thematically.
Think of it like watching movies in the MCU. If you skipped all the movies like Guardians of the Galaxy or Captain America and Iron Man, and just watched Avengers Endgame right off the bat, you wouldn't have the same level of enjoyment or understanding of what just happened in the movie as the fans who did.

Pros:
-im studying biology/medicine and this show did a good job of making those 2 fields interesting thru cute big tiddie snek gf and Dr. Glenn explaining how monster biology works without using big words
-nice background world building, there was a war between people and monsters, but now they live together in harmony; show doesn't go too much into it but it was interesting when they did allude to it.
-big tiddie goth spider gf
-funny haha moments with boobies and physical exams getting too physical
-cute snek waifu
-wholesome doctor-patient relations ;)
-ACTUAL wholesome doctor-patient interactions
-Dr. Glenn does things a good professional real life doctor would do, like caring about
...
patients, complying with HIPPA regulations, etc.
-did I mention cute snek waifu???
Cons:
-only 12 episodes, i need moar snek waifu
-Dr. Glenn never smashes (???)
TL;DR: watch the show if u like cute monster waifus and enjoy grey's anatomy, its not a show meant to be taken too seriously, enjoy it for what it is bro

9/10. Great show to get into while we wait for Cyberpunk 2077 to finally release (since that unsurprisingly got delayed AGAIN). First episode already had me sold when they showed one of the main characters driving a motorcycle on the side of city buildings during an action sequence. Fourth episode sealed the deal for me that this show is going be amazing. This show is a must watch for this season.
[Story]
The story gets a lot bigger you progress through the episodes. At first it takes a simple thematic approach of a simple heist/prison break, then it evolves into something bigger along the line.
[Art]
Episode 4
...
had some really creative transitions I've seen in animation, as well as some really nice fighting animations/backgrounds. Character design is unique and cool. Art direction fits the aesthetic of Neo-Tokyo.
[Sound]
Music is great. It's got the futuristic sound down really well, mixing some rock elements. Sound effects are done well too.
[Character]
It's refreshing to see an interesting cast with all around good characters. They fill the shoes of a typical heist crew with the tropes such as the brains, the brawns, the professional, etc. while also giving each character a bit of personality. Comedy isn't the main focus but the dialogue is pretty witty at times. Voice actors are pretty good at portraying their characters as well.
[Enjoyment]
Yes.
This show doesn't take itself seriously nor does it try to. This leads to a good fusion of serious and comedic moments. This show is how I'd expect a bunch of ragtag punks teaming up to act like in a crime ridden dystopian futuristic metropolis. The show embodies the genre of cyberpunk.
If you like the Cyberpunk aesthetic of shows like Tokyo Ghoul, Ghost in the Shell, and Akira...while enjoying over the top action that doesn't take itself too seriously such as JoJo's Bizarre Adventures or any classic 80's film like Terminator 2, watch this anime.

Alright I had to write an review simply b/c people are sleeping on this show and writing it off as another generic, trash, carbon copy of an overpowered isekai fantasy. Let me tell you something, they're wrong. Most of the people reviewing this show haven't even watched all 13 episodes and it shows in their reviews and scores. The only show deserving of a 1 is Eromanga Sensei and Isekai Cheat Magician. This show objectively deserves to be scored a 7 at the minimum, and I'll tell you why in this review. I'll try to keep it concise yet as informative as possible without spoilers,
...
b/c I don't feel like writing an essay tonight. If you want an full in-depth review, go watch Scamboli's video essay on this show on YouTube.
:[The Short Review]:
This show is about a Chad Demon Lord Grandpa from a war torn past who gets reborn into a peaceful world 2000 years after his death just to flex on his descendants and former opponents, while uncovering what exactly happened over the past 2000 years. Turns out, this new world isn't what it seems to be (b/c there's corruption, inequality, decay of family bonds, fake history/fake news, etc.), and Bad Devil Grandpa Man is gonna make the world great again for ALL species, not just Demonkind. Watch this show if you like Overpowered Protagonists who subvert typical stereotypes and tropes, an interesting enough plot with several unexpected twists, OR if you just wanna watch a living god flex on people by literally challenging Death, Time, and Gravity who is actually a pretty nice guy once you get to know him. Honestly this show is like Megamind starring Will Ferrell but with a Demon Lord instead.
:[The Long Review (not the best polished but I think I made my point)]:
This show is a good example of taking an established trope, and making it work well. This show has an OP MC yes but he stands out from other OP MC's b/c he actually has a unique personality and is actually rightfully cool. He's a reincarnated Demon Lord from 2000 years ago, who's only known war during his time, who is now living in a new era of relative peace and stability that he helped ushered through his death. The Demon Lord HIMSELF, worked with the Hero to bring peace by giving up his life and being the scapegoat so that there may be peace and end to the war between humans, demons, and the world. He allowed himself to die and be blamed for everything for the sake of peace. That's not something a normal Demon Lord would do.
Already the show is subverting the typical Demon Lord is evil incarnate trope within the first episode, and that is just the beginning. This Demon Lord protagonist takes NO SMACK from anyone and bodies anyone who challenges him, BUT doesn't go out of his way to bully the weak. This reincarnated "Demon Lord" actually acts more like a hero for the weak than an actual demon. He also is calm, confident, and collected, and isn't shy around women, being able to be himself at all times without coming off as a ego inflated jerk, despite being a pure alpha male. So as you can see the protag's character background is actually developed and executed very well in this show and should rightfully so, since THAT'S ACTUALLY UNIQUE WHEN COMPARED TO THE MANY ISEKAI PROTAGS WHO DIED TO A TRUCK AND WAS A LOSER IN LIFE ONLY TO BECOME A SIMP OR A BIGGER WIMP IN THEIR NEW LIFE. Also did I mention that this man can crack jokes and one liners? Without it being cringe? If you wanna watch this man spin a castle on his fingertips nonchalantly or some other inhuman feat just to flex on his descendants while making casual talk with them, then stop reading this now and watch the show.
Aside from the story details, the visuals and sounds for this show are actually pretty good for a show that isn't a big budget blockbuster like ReZero or Fire Force. This show doesn't have a super memorable soundtrack, but there were episodes where the music was fitting. It's not something I'd add to my anime playlist though.
All in all, this show surpassed my expectations greatly, especially with how little this show was promoted. This show stood pretty well on its own during an extremely good summer season for anime, competing with ReZero, SNAFU, Rent a Girlfriend, and more. With trope subversions and plot twists similar to how Cautious Hero twisted the tropes of an overpowered protagonist by making the MC overly cautious despite being extremely overpowered. This show might come off as a generic power fantasy at first, but it actually has significant depth for a 13 episode show. You should check it out if you enjoy shows like Cautious Hero, One Punch Man, or even Overlord. It's a show that does the Overpowered Main Character gimmick well, and even goes to subvert stereotypes. Watch at least the first 6-7 episodes before you judge the show. The second half of this show is much better than the first half, and personally makes the show a 9 for me. The show has heart, and it shows in its character and execution. If the voice actor himself is singing the OP, they are definitely putting effort and heart into delivering an entertaining experience.
