All the things that are not said and all the things than other people refuse to see are common themes in the utterly melancholy manga one shots Natsu no Mayu and Traces of Snow. They each deal with the issue of one friend harbouring deep and bittersweet feelings for the other who cannot see it or return it.

These manga are similar in that they feature girls who question the nature of their relationships with one another. They are melancholy though have the tense atmosphere found in the exploration of awkward sexuality.

Both are manga one shots that deal with young men trying to figure out their relationships with one another. While Waltz With a Black Cat is more comedic in nature and A Morning that Rarely comes is more atmospheric, the nature of the relationships and the confusion that comes with them for each character is in essence rather similar.
