(Rin is a sequel to the previous Sugar)
Rin is the best manga that has abandoned all orthodox methods.
Orthodox methods?
Readers can feel emotionally invested in the main character.
The villain does terrible things, and the reader is disgusted by the villain.
The hero defeats the villain and the reader gets catharsis.
If there are 100 interesting comics, 99 will take this approach.
...
Conversely, Rin actively adopts a method that makes readers not want to read the manga (i.e., makes them want to tear it up and throw it away).
He is an inferiority complex nerd who posts on a Web message board.
The protagonist is a boxer with prodigious talent but no social skills. If he were a scholar, one might call him an antisocial personality.
A hero who thoroughly beats up a hero who is an admired hero to the good mob.
The hero who makes fun of his opponent (a reformed ex-mafia boxer) who has a common inspirational story background.
The hero and the heroine, who are childhood friends, truly love the hero. But she shuns the hero and goes out with a man who is not the hero and has sex with him. Moreover, the descriptions are specific and realistic.
On top of that, the pictures are not beautiful and there is zero kawaii. Or minus.
Okay, let me explain why I love this manga.
The main character is more sensitive than anyone else in the manga, but he never shows it to anyone. (Readers who are too accustomed to easy-to-understand portrayals of comical characters may not notice this.)
The protagonist makes an extraordinary effort, but there is no manga description to explain it clearly to the reader. (He routinely runs the distance of a full marathon, but he is not described as if he is "making an effort.)
The protagonist has aesthetics, beliefs, and kindness. But characters other than the protagonist are not aware of it from the beginning to the end. (They are only scattered in a few lines in small panels.)
I'm not going to tell everyone they should read it. Because most geeks are normal, orthodox geeks.
But I really like this manga. I really, really like it.
There is an absolute beauty in it that is not depicted in other manga.

Kamui Den is "The Legend Of Kamui"
How many comics, movies, and novels have you read?
How wide a range of genres were they?
If you can answer those two questions with confidence, this may be the best manga for you.
If the best manga for you is One Piece or Naruto, it may be the worst manga.
Or, if the best manga for you is Parasite or Berserk, there is a small chance that you might find it interesting.
...
There are no obvious heroes or villains in this manga, and there is no catharsis.
There is only a cruel reality and a cold-hearted look at human beings.
Cruel reality, in this manga, is real.
The peasants are exploited by their lords.
The peasants' antipathy and will to rebel against their lords is resolved by the discrimination against the discriminated people prepared by the lords.
The discriminated people discriminate against the lower class of the discriminated people.
Any ninja who stands up for the discriminated people is immediately executed.
A merchant gains success, but soon loses it through the schemes of another merchant with greater power.
Besides, the authority that makes a lord a lord is false.
Samurai kill each other from start to finish. But samurai killing each other is only a flavor of this manga.
The main depiction in this manga is the ugliness and stupidity of human beings, and that ugliness and stupidity are the very flaws you don't want to see, yours and our own.
If you can read this manga and find it interesting, it's only because you are nerds who have read tons of manga that are only interesting and are tired of manga that are just plain interesting.

(this review wrote by Japanese who don't speak English)
My first MAL review.
Almost Japanese think best Ninja comic is Naruto.
I think, Naruto is very good until the Ninja test(Chuunin Shiken).
these days, Japanese Otaku thinks best ninja fiction is Ninja Slayer.
novel is great, comic is not bad, but, the anime is shit.
...
and, Under Ninja is? this comic is very good.
Under Ninja's ninjas use cool gadgets(optical camouflage, satellite weapon) in real world.
Japan is safe country, and no one use gun, so almost scenes normal Japanese(whore, dull middle-aged businessman, boy who doesn't to school, or more strangers) move and talk.
There are two side comicality in this comic, Normal Japanese strangers talks and living, and, Real ninja battles.
I think this comic's ninja is like a Iron Man or Batman.
They are special people and use real comical gadget, and they are not immortal in real world.
so, I think Foreign Nerds love this comic.
