For a short parody series of something that is a comedy show, this is wholly unfunny. I'm a big fan of Kuragehime, and this is probably the most disappointing thing I could have watched. The story isn't very good, and when they try to make jokes, they fall flat. Very flat. I don't even really understand how anyone could find them funny.

For a show with great animation, sound, and character development, it seemed like these all should have been of a decently high quality. Unfortunately, even the sound (which in my opinion is pretty hard to mess up) wasn't nearly as good as the original ... show.

I found myself not enjoying this at all. If, by some odd choice, you feel like watching it, go ahead. It's a decent enough way to waste three minutes of your time, but there are much better things one could be watching instead. It's honestly a bit of a pity.

Overall, if you're a fan of Kuragehime and are considering watching this, go watch the original. It's much more satisfying than having to sit through even the three minutes of this.

This is an adorable little story about a girl who wants to go the beach with her father, who is constantly held up by work. In the first five minutes of this special, I went from not enjoying it very much to being completely sucked into the story.

Story: 9. As I mentioned, it is just the story of a little girl who wants to go to the sea with her father. The only trouble is, her father can't swim, and has been afraid of going into the ocean ever since he was a small child. Right when they are about to go, he gets called ... off to work and is unable to go, and instead is stuck holding umbrellas and being an errand boy to people at his work. Meanwhile, in a world of dreams Maki discovers the dougong floatie she bought for her father wants to take her to the ocean and teach her how to swim. From here, she and the floatie, called Juju, swim around and go to an island where her father is being held captive. Several crazy hi-jinks happen, and I must encourage you to watch the rest to find out the ending. The story is in general, extremely adorable and heartwarming.

Art: 10. Being part of the 2011 Young Animator's Project, I would expect nothing less of the art. What made the art alone so gorgeous was the way the colors flowed together, and how beautifully everything in and under the water moved in the shots. I was reminded of the details put into the sakura blossoms floating around in 5 Centimeters Per Second; it actually felt like there was an extreme attention to detail that sometimes I feel are lacking in newer (and especially some older) series. The colors in this series somewhat reminded me of Usagi Drop, for the way Maki was colored. The animation flowed beautifully, and the movements, shapes, and sizes were distinct and unique. The underwater scenes in general were gorgeous.

Sound: 7. It was sound. There was nothing overly special about it, but the light soundtrack added to the heartwarming feeling. There was nothing wrong with the voice acting, but nothing that made it stand out.

Character: 6. I loved Maki's character design, as well as how Juju was drawn, but I think that is where everything ends. The father is drawn fairly blandly, and he is the only character that is given a semblance of development. The mother and son are forgettable, as is the antagonist and her assistant. This was my main problem with the episode, but I feel that, as that being my only real issue, this series holds out on its own.

Enjoyment: 7. I feel like judging one's enjoyment of something is a bit harsh generally, but in this instance I actually did understand where this rating comes from. In the beginning, I didn't think I was going to like it, and was tempted to quit watching it. But I stuck through, and once the art gets good, it stays good.

I completely recommend this to anyone who loves cuter series, but also to anyone who needs some good animation, or just a reason to smile.

Natsume Yuujinchou is from a genre I previously had not tested very much, thinking I wouldn't like the slower pacing of a show like this. However, I was completely, and happily surprised by it.

Story: 9. The story is based around a young high school male named Natsume who can see ayakashi. One day he ends up accidentally breaking a seal on a shrine, releasing an extremely powerful demon... who is trapped in the body of what looks like a Lucky Cat statue. He becomes Natsume's bodyguard, and goes by the term "Nyanko-sensei," helping Natsume in his adventures. Natsume meets and helps a variety of ayakashi ... and humans.

Art: 8. Standing by itself, I would typically give this art a nine, but if you look at the later seasons, it just doesn't hold up. However, the art is simply beautiful, plain and simple.

Sound: 8. I don't feel like there are any major problems with the sound, I just wished there was more of a background track in some places, and to be honest I dislike the ending.

Characters: 9. With so many characters in thirteen episodes, it makes creating the breadth of characters they did truly amazing. I completely respect the creators, and with each character I feel attached and feel they bring something new that I haven't seen before. I love the way characters are animated in this show, and how their facial expressions subtly change. The only reason I don't give it a 10 is because many of the male characters look extremely feminine.... a bit interesting but... makes the variation lack somewhat.

Enjoyment: 9. I love this show, I really do. There's something that made me not enjoy it nearly as much as I do other things, to be honest, and that was a friend of mine complaining through it the whole time.

Overall: 8. I recommend this show to every single person who likes anime. It's gorgeous, the story is wonderful, and the more I watch, the more I love. Definitely continue on with the other three seasons if you like it, because Natsume is worth it.

B Gata H Kei is wrong in all of the right ways. I feel like this kind of series might not attract many girls, but if you are female, it isn't just a show of male fantasy. I couldn't get enough of it, and found myself wanting more even as the last episode finished. I'm not much a fan of ecchi, but sometimes something will spark my interest and I have to watch it. This series was definitely one of those.

Story: 8. This story is about a high school girl who wants to have sex with one hundred men. That said, a viewer might ... think this series includes a lot of sex when it is mostly about a girl and a guy in high school who want to have sex and have no idea what to do. It's very real to life, and somewhat similar to what I went through in high school.

Art: 8. The artwork was good and the facial expressions, hilarious. It didn't have a point where the art lacked like a lot of newer series, and overall, it was pleasant to look at.

Sound: 7. I give it a seven because, to be honest, some of the voice acting can get a bit on my nerves at times. It's not nearly as bad as some of the series I've seen, but a few of the voices of the minor characters were annoying. It's not a big problem, and the overall sound quality was fantastic.

Character: 8. The characters were all fairly unique and all of the characters had their own interesting points. The main characters, Yamada and Kosuda were fairly typical teenagers, and I think they're fairly relate-able in this regard. The minor characters were all interesting as well, and I never felt like the characters were bringing down the story at all. I honestly would very much like spinoffs featuring some of them, because it would be hilarious as well as interesting.

Enjoyment: 9. I'm a bit of a sadist, so I thoroughly enjoyed watching every installment of Yamada and Kosuda fail at trying to have sex with each other. Personally, I found this series a laugh a minute, and I spent so much time trying not to laugh, especially during the last episode.

Overall: 8. As I said, it's bad in all the right ways. It's distinctly filthy where it needs to be and really shows how awkward talking about sex and having sex for the first time can really be. There's not much I can say without giving spoilers, but from the moment I heard this show's premise, I knew I was going to love it.
