It's hard to be "that guy" when it comes to HxH, because you inadvertently are "every other guy" when suggesting to anyone to continue watching it. I won't. I have taken a look at future scenes and arcs before and I still had similar problems with it as in my review, if I recall it correctly after all this time. I get that people really enjoy it and believe others might end up enjoying it once they reach its high points, and that's where you're probably coming from. I can even appreciate the intent behind it. But I know for certain my dislike for it now is not gonna get better after 20 episodes or 40 episodes or so on.

I'm more interested in why you're recommending Golden Kamuy. What do you think I'd like about it?

Omg, I know exactly what you mean! Though Ayame to Amane is basically just a big nothingburger outside of being vaguely offensive. Like, it's not even badly made porn designed for straight dudes, it's just... boring as all hell and vaguely creepy. Might I suggest 'Even if it was just once, I regret it' or 'How do we Relationship?' instead? There's also 'Run Away With Me, Girl' and 'Hanjuku Joushi', which are both pretty great in terms of relatable GL romance stuff. Sadly, serious GL romance comics are more of a thing in Korean webtoons than they are in Japanese manga, although Japan has created some good ones, I guess. Still nothing able to top just searching 'supercorp' on AO3 though, sadly.

I took a look on the aarinfantasy forum (which is where they are fan subbing the Patalliro episodes and loads of other BL shows) to see if I could find it for you. I managed to track it down but it only has Japanese subtitles at the moment but you can download it on this link: https://mega.nz/file/euRVxQiC#4Qv_MFalbr76uxhzezOUUwz8KkiktRmkpQIqsaN9xiU. Apparently they are planning on fan-subbing it so it's worth keeping an eye on it.

Yep - you got me, I'm a big Patalliro fan! The anime particularly, I'm very slowly making my way through the manga. Thanks for the recommendation - I've added it to my Plan to Read list. I took a look at the tags and saw that it's a shoujo, shounen-ai and from the 70s so it looks exactly like my type of thing!

Yeah, it's a shame there's not more a fan base for some older shows on MAL. It's tricky even to find someone who's seen Patalliro :)
