This manga caught me off-guard.
I wasn't expecting this much, but even if I was expecting a masterpiece I wouldn't be disappointed.
Story:
How can I tell you about the story without spoiling anything? It's unique, it's vibrant and it's mysterious. I haven't yet read a manga with a story so twisted, yet natural.
Art:
It's really hard to rate the art that is so much better than any other manga. Especially the full colored pages stand out a lot, but the high quality comes at the cost of quantity, since each chapter is only one page long.
...
Characters:
It's a beautiful combination of sweet and scary - something that is hard to make but worth seeing.
Enjoyment:
This is a hard point.
Did I enjoy this? - Yes, in some crazy, unnatural, weird way I enjoyed it a lot.
Would I read more? - Surely.
So why I don't give it a 10/10? - Because there is something in this manga that makes my insides twist and turn and I cannot put a hand on what exactly is causing it. I've seen more horrible and disgusting stuff in other mangas, but this manga managed to do something insane - it made me feel a mix of emotions that normally don't mix.
Overall:
I'll continue reading... I don't know what will happen to me.

Nichijou means "Everyday Normal (Life)", and this anime is nothing close to that.
Are drugs illegal in your country? Well, most likely they are. But assume that you had access to all of them, then you bought one of each kind, and then you mixed them all in one big pot, and then you drunk a spoon of that drug-soup. The final effect? Something close to Nichijou.
You'll be living with a state of mind, where you imagine you're living in reality and experiencing all kinds of daily life, but actually you're lying on the floor and staring at the ceiling, yet you don't realize it. That's
...
how it feels to watch Nichijou. For someone sane like me this anime is nonsense from beginning to end, but if you're drugged enough you'll call it slice-of-life or something like that.
Examples? Too many too mention - pretty much everything. Just watch one episode, and you'll understand.
Genre - Comedy. Where?
Some people claim it's funny. Are talking cats funny? Is it fun to watch a retarded kid talk sloooooowly. Is it fun to see a clumsy girl forgot her homework? Or is it funny to see someone suddenly take out a bazooka from out-of-nowhere and shoot at their friends? If you find those things funny, then you really need to check out 9gag, and if you still continue finding Nichijou funny, check yourself with a local psychiatrist. More than likely they'll successfully diagnose you with some disorder.
Relaxing? More like headache-inducing!
The so-called-humor is so over-the-limit that it's not funny. It's either pitiful to watch or disgusting or simply boring. Technically, it gives you a headache if you watch it for long enough. In the whole period of 26 episodes I haven't laughed even once, but after 26 episodes I'm close to puking.
Creative?
Yes, I haven't seen anything as creative as this since 2girls1cup! The abnormality is over-the-top and I have to agree, I wouldn't be able to come up with so much b.s. no matter how long I would spend thinking.
Characters:
If you find a group of druggies in the back-alley somewhere, then I bet you it's gonna be exactly the same atmosphere. The characters of Nichijou are really not much different from druggies. Their personalities are unrealistic, and don't occur in real life unless you make someone take a bunch of drugs.
Art:
Possibly the only thing acceptable about this anime.
Regarding Recommendations:
Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou - this one stays in the realm of reality, while Nichijou flies to the planet of druggies.
Azumanga Daioh - very similar, but Azumanga had better characters.
Lucky Star - this was at least funny, Nichijou lacks any humor what-so-ever.
School Rumble - similarly unrealistic, but School Rumble was a bit more funny.
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei - this is a parody of all kinds of characters, nothing in common with Nichijou.
Nisemonogatari - someone took too many drugs and added this completely unrelated series as a recommendation.
Arakawa Under the Bridge - this is a story from the land of dreams, not the land of drugs! Don't mix up the two!
Gintama - how can you compare a masterpiece like Gintama to a crap like Nichijou?
I'll finish here, in the end I was only pissed off about seeing Gintama as a recommendation...
Final Question:
Why did I rate it as 1/10?
Because my limited brain is slowly running out of space for watching crap, and every 100 anime or so my scoring gets harsher and harsher, and I was going to score this as 2/10, but then I'm a cat lover, and I don't have enough fingers to count all the scenes that involve physical abuse of a poor Sakamoto (the cat).
Some people find animal abuse funny, especially when they're on drugs, so I'm not surprised that the "humor" of this anime revolves around this kind of "fun".
By the way, previous sentence is also a very good one-sentence summary of the whole anime.

This manga is not for typical otaku, who are looking for a manga that lets them escape the harsh reality.
This manga is all about reality.
It's hard to read this manga, but it's hard to stop.
This is one of few mangas that will make you feel like you don't want to live in this world anymore, and the main reason is the reality of this manga. 100% realistic situations, backed-up with real-life problems and issues that you can find info about in any media.
It's no wonder some people rate it so low. Many people read manga to escape into the world of magic, superpowers and main
...
characters who always achieve their goals and where the dreams come true.
Black Jack ni Yoroshiku is the very opposite. No magic, no superpowers, no miracles. The main character is as real-life human as possible, and dreams are what they are in reality - just dreams, while goals are distant and unclear.
Like most people, Saito Eijirou doesn't know what his goals are or why he's doing what he's doing.
Like most people, Saito Eijirou has dreams that are ruined by reality.
Like most people, Saito Eijirou hopes for miracles that never happen.
And like in real life, things never go as planned.
All 13 volumes present to you the reality of human life and illustrate how weak and hopeless all the people are in this world.
If you've already accepted the reality; if you already realized how powerless you are, then you will find a masterpiece in this manga.
But if you're still fooling yourself with "dreams come true" and "believe in yourself" crap, then go and read something more optimistic and fictitious, and come back here years later, after the life will teach you the definition of "reality".

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS
MPD Psycho is not a manga that you think it is. If you came here from mangas like Mirai Nikki, Doubt, Death Note, or Higurashi no naku koro ni, then you'll find nothing interesting in here. I expected to find at least one psycho in the manga, and I found a lot of dead bodies and no psycho.
Story: 2
The main character (or one who appears so at the beginning) has multiple personality disorder (abbreviated as MPD), i.e. within him there are more personalities who come out when they want and one of them kills people once in a while. Soon we find
...
out that these "personalities" are computer programs, and you can move them from one person to another. This way we have a new person with MPD every few chapters. Why? Because EVERYONE wants to have those personalities, so they kill each other, take the personalities, and get killed by another, who wants those personalities, and this is repeated over and over again = so boring!
Once in a while, at some points, the manga gives you a feeling that some sort of storyline is evolving, but this hope will get destroyed within the next ten chapters. In other words, manga follows no storyline, and when the author has no more idea what to do with the "main" character, he kills him or her, and continues with another "main" character.
Art: 6
Not too bad. I've seen worse drawings, but unless you're a freak, who has a fetish of masturbating to a dead, NAKED and ripped-apart body, you won't find it nice looking. I'm not bothered by the fact that they're dead, ripped-apart in the pool of blood, but why are they naked? The murderer is not a pervert, yet for some unknown to the reader reason, he undresses all victims! If he would be a pervert, then at least it would make sense!!! Otherwise, it's just a fan-service!
Character: 4
Characters? Do they exist? Not really. Since the main characters, are the personalities that travel from one person to another, and they don't make a little bit of sense. They're completely out of tune with the manga. It feels like the different person made the characters/personalities, and the different person is working on a storyline (that doesn't work well either). Well, I'll give here 4, because I enjoy the personality of Nishizono Shinji (but he's not a psycho!), but really, this and other personalities could have been so much better with just a little touch.
Enjoyment: 1
I feel like I have wasted so much time. Honestly I feel cheated! I decided to read this manga, because it has a high rating, and it was supposed to be about psychos! But in reality, neither the manga was good, nor I got to see a psycho. I am really, really upset about the fake ad of "psycho" in the story, so if you look for a manga that has psychopaths, then go look elsewhere, this one has none!
Overall: 2
To summarize it in one word = worthless.
