Gender bender is a personal favourite of mine so I always look all around the net for GB mangas to read. This one is a very enjoyable manga.

I actually like the female lead. Also, I would like to mention that not all GB manga can make it successfully like this. One of my pet peeve is they make the girl "cross dress" but still make her obviously girly. And most of all, the crossdressing's motivation is to get close and be lovey-dovey with the handsome lead. Kind of annoying. What set this manga apart is that the main girl actually focuses on ... improving her dancing and strives to be excellent. Her head is not full of fluffy love-love clouds all the time. With that, she had my respect. She is does not have to be super strong or overly tomboy to look cool. She looked cute enough without looking like a girl trying hard to be stoic. She's just the right mix. For that, I give props for the mangaka.

Art is usual cutesy shoujo manga done right. I enjoy the story flow too. It's not repetitive and the plot continues to go forward without overstressing the cross-dressing part. It get me focused more on the idol aspect of the story so it's nice.

Nice oneshots, very entertaining with strong-willed (and even several) physically strong women. Not a typical shoujo volume with masochistic women so I appreciate.
Stories: I'm dying of laughter here. Especially check out story number 4. Even if it's a bunch of oneshots, it's main aim is to entertain so in that area and I say it definitely delivered. It's not disjointed nor confusing. The short stories ended properly without leaving the reader frustrated and hanging like the oneshots you see in mediocre romance-centered shoujo stories.
As for the art, it's the generic shoujo style but it's ok. You can read without being distracted of it ... and makes you focus on the story. The usual shoujo sparkles and flower effects is used for humor in this manga so I appreciate that as well

The manga is A-AMAZING so I'm soooooo disappointed with the anime adaptation. And to think I've always liked studio pierrot's creations but this time they let me down. I don't know what's up with them trying out 3d with 2d overlay but it totally failed them in this anime.

I have high expectation for the anime because afterall, kingdom (manga) is one of my all-time favourites but this just killed my buzz.

Fight sequence: So, one thing that I watch anime for is the see the fight sequence but it's so stiff and the 3d blocks is so strong in this one.

Censors: violent and ... gore scenes are not directly shown and I understand it but at least make it subtle, it destroys the flow.

Endnote: If you watched kingdom before reading manga please, PLEASE give it a chance because it's miles and leagues better despite being in printed form. You'll totally forget about the bad animation.
