As over the top JoJo's has always been, Baki is stereotypical JoJo's x10... except for the fact that JoJo's got better with every season. Early JoJo's at it's core was cartoonishly muscular and masculine men fighting in the most absurd scenarios. Over the top moments meant to shock and confuse the viewer over having any actual substance of a plot... and that is what made it so special. Similar to Baki, which makes it no secret that the "plot" is just an excuse for the buff superhumans to beat each other like crazy. So why should you watch JoJo's if Baki is more JoJo's than JoJo's? The reason is because JoJo's Bizarre Adventure gets better and more creative with every arc, and all 6 arcs so far feel like their own shows that could stand on their own. JoJo's somehow found a way to improve on the plot and characters, without losing any of the "trashiness" that makes it special in the first place. All the music is not only iconic but also really good. The new "power system" introduced in arc 3 allows for far more creative fights. And somehow this show manages to outdo itself in sheer absurdity with every new installment, making for one of the most entertaining anime you could watch. The first arc most people agree is the weakest, and arc 3 can feel like it drags on too long, but sticking with it is very worthwhile. I am a fan of both shows and Baki certainly has a charm that sets it apart from JoJo's, but JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is the best at what it does and is a one-of-a-kind show.
