Manga reader here, can't tell you how hyped I was for this arc with the best hashira.

Unfortunately, you can tell they were dragging out the season to all the way until ep 7 with incredibly long still shots up to 10 secs and dragged out inner monologues with nothing happening in between.

My initial rating was a mediocre 5, luckily all the culminated budget for the final showdown immediately redeemed this back to an 8.

- Art is a 10, duh
- Sound gets a 7 with no complaints here,
- Character gets a mediocre score of 5, the humor is incredibly childish and overly relies on warped ... facial expressions from the old days of anime
- Enjoyment: 7, for what felt like a chore at the beginning but thankfully ended with a bang

So yes, still a highly recommended series and very easily palatable for newcomers,

Before drilling down into details, the summary:
With an interesting premise and impressive mecha battles, the story development is somewhat erratic and leaves viewers(Like me) confused most of the time.

Story 6/10:
The story doesn't exactly live up to its potential or rather, the plot development is really difficult to follow. While I see it as an attempt to create a politically-heavy driven plot, with sides changing from one episode to the next, things move so fast that half the time I'm left wondering which side is doing what, who is allying with who or why this side is doing this.

Art/Animation 8/10:
Nothing much to elaborate here other ... than the fact that its good despite having an old-school art style. Opinion varies though, I have known people to dislike it.

Sound 7/10:
Music is on cue, befitting of the intense situations our characters are drawn into especially the mecha battles.

Character 7/10:
The characters are possibly the most enjoyable part of the show but not without its flaws: Mainly the reasoning of some characters. The banter is entertaining and hilarious even in serious situations, but there are parts where the dialogue during battles makes no sense at all.

Overall Enjoyment 7/10:
I suffered through the first half of the series initially before all the factions were properly established, then I actually started to enjoy the show, that was about 15/26 episodes later. Most people would have dropped the series by then. The flashy battle scenes are prevalent in almost every episode and are its biggest redeeming quality. May not be everyone's cup of tea but I'd say give it a shot!
