Honestly, I don't even remember when I watched a Space Opera in Anime before. It's been many years I guess. Battleship Yamato 2199 is considered to be the Japanese star wars is remake of a show which aired back in 70's and during its heyday was a big name back in Japan. But, how does it actually pan out? The remake is considered be very good, and something that fans appreciated, that said my own feelings towards the show remain mixed. The show does set up an excellent world ang premise which could have been set for greatness, but it didn't quite live up to ... the mark. The 26 episodes were a complete see saw, one episode was good, the next episode was utter garbage. This thing continued throughout and the show never quite got a foothold on the consistency of its quality. And, the predictable sub plots made things worse, especially how the subplots only aided as a distraction and held no meaning to the overall story. That said, there were places where the show completely shined. The space battles in particular , especially how the show focused on a more strategical approach to space warfare, which was quite refreshing to watch. Further the overall retro feel of things gave it a little charm on its own. That said, the show's problems got the better of me sometimes and I was thoroughly disappointed here and there. Add some glaring plot holes to the mix and everything felt just worse. The OST was extremely good though. Some great songs they had there, but not enough to save the show.

I watched this show with the hopes of it being an underrated masterpiece , but unfortunately I ended up with something which was very flawed and overall I was left with a show which was neither good nor bad. Just about ok.

This anime has to be by far one of the best I have seen ever.The story revolves around a scary looking
half masked,black caped looking doctor(he does resemble Dracula in a way!),by the name of Dr Black Jack.
The doctor holds the reputation for being the world's best surgeon,but only works for the 'rich'.Though
initially you get a feeling that this guy is pretty greedy,but in reality he is a very kind hearted man.

The anime boasts of a very independant storyline.Most episodes remain independant of each other,with each story
touching your heart in a very unusual way.The animation is really good and if you are wondering why the style
is ... soo similar to Astro Boy's,then you should know that both the original Manga's were authored by Osamu Tezuka.

Overall the anime is excellent and I would reccommend everyone to atleast try watching the series once.

This anime unlike most of the other ones is actually adapted from the novel by Rudyard Kipling.The story is set
in India with Mowgli,an orphaned boy who was raised by wolves being the main protaganist of the story .If you
havent read the book,then the story might actually resemble Tarzan.Though Tarzan and mowgli do bear thier
similarities.The story starts off with mowgli's parents being killed by the Sher khan,the tiger and the story's
main antagonist.Mowgli is then rescued by wolves(Alexander and luri) who then take him into thier care.The story that follows
is mowglis' survival in the jungle,his attachment to his animal friends and his close encounters with ... sher khan.
The anime despite not being as popular as ther anime during it's time is still worth watch,though it may actually
appeal younger fans more than the older ones.

Overall it's a decent anime to watch and I really would reccommend it to people who want to try something a bit differrent.
