somehow so queer and dives into gender expression yet the most hetero transphobic shojou i have every read. i dont say that with malice. like sagara literally has 2 hands why cant they have both and they be a polycule. like the option was literally put in there as a joke bait and all of them didnt get together im going to lose it.
ok so sagara has mixed feelings towards their gender because they didnt like how everyone called them a girl while still biologically a boy right? so getting turned into a girl obviously blows up that feeling double fold. and as a nonbinary ... genderqueer afab person myself i related so much with what sagara was going through. that phase of hyper masculinity to prove im not a girl even though i'm not quite a boy and don't want to be. then that phase of accepting my femininity because it does not have ties to my birth gender and i should be allowed to do what I want anyways regardless of how i personally identify.
this concpet is so intresting and could be such a good study on genderqueer people and gender non conforming and how society would be different if there was a more literal biological tranformation that cuts down on alot of terfs anti trans rhetoric in modern times.
there is literally a trans character, the researcher friend who does genetic emergence research because she wants to be a girl. what would a legit trans person be like in a society where the gender ration is automatically regulated genetically. would it be accepted becuase of the precedence of emergence or rejected because of the "unaturality" of it compared to emergence and considered against the grain of nature.
and im not taking the obviously it would be rejected considering how much emergence is hated in cannon im talking about what if it was handled properly and explored. there are many people ok with emergence and of course those against it, but it all seems every surface level world development. anyways those are my thoughts on it. it wasnt so bad and i liked the romance especially the first one but thats a different review.

Look this story is great but to call it an anime is really stretching it. the point of anime i feel is to further the story by bringing the characters to life and have them move. and looking at it the only animation is the panels move and mouth movement. This cannot be the product of an actual animation company. anyone can take the manga, color it, move the panels, and dub over it. in fact many people do and publish those on youtube and those are called fan dub animations. but for an actual production company to do that and call it an anime? ... I dont think so. the only reason i stayed and watched it was because its funny. i wont deny the story is hilarious, but i think i could get that enjoyment just from reading the manga. the "anime" didnt really add anything, just color.
