Both manga have a post-apocalyptic setting where the human race is on the brink of extinction and is under attack by an unknown destructive species that are shrouded in mystery. Sidonia no kishi is a lot more straight forward than Attack on Titan and just passes by as a sci-fi action manga with fast paced battles. In contrast, Attack on Titan tries to be a little more psychological, mysterious and has more focus on world building but still retains the hectic action similar to Sidonia. Although both don't focus on characterization, the cast of Attack on Titan is a little more fleshed out than the one in Sidonia but characters are not the strong point of both of these manga's. If you liked one of them for the hopeless post-apocalyptic setting and action, there is a high chance you will like the other also for the setting and action
