This manga falls into a very common shounen romance pitfall: show some sparks in the first half and then streeech it out with a "will they wont they" question until the end. By the time the manga gets to a confession the entire thing feels hollow and weirdly formal. It's a cliche that gets repeated over and over.
Kubo is immune to none of this as a manga. Despite the timidness of his character the MC shows some forward progress in his relationship with the LI. The manga then proceeds to forget this for over 70 chapters before the beginning of the end.
Most of that

time is spent fleshing out the side cast none of whom are as interesting as the main pair. One side character is a tsun type cousin who is extremely annoying. They try to form her jealousy as being cute. I don't buy it.
It's hard to write about this manga because it's unremarkable. I was forgetting people's names writing this post. The art was good and the vibes were fine. Some chapters are legit great. I would have given this a pass but certain things including the ending gave me a sour taste in my mouth.
