Wholesome. That's how I can describe this wonderful film.
The entire premise of the film shows a young woman raising two children in a very judgemental world. Throughout her eyes, we see her struggle trying to maintain her children and her undying love for them too. It was a beautiful film, a very feel-good film, and it just made me very happy and wholesome when I watched it.
Story:
The story was wonderful, however I feel like this show would be better as an episodic anime rather than a movie. There were certain aspects I felt were very loosely introduced, and brushed over without commenting on it.
...
However, I really did like the overarching story of this film. It was original, and really divulged in a different aspect of life compared to the high school animes we see on the daily. Although it had the supernatural element of wolves, we understand the struggle and scrutiny of single, young mothers - and it really does change one's perspective about the sacrifices they made. Overall, the story was original and refreshing, and really shed light on societal issues we face.
Art:
Art was good, nothing extraordinary about it. However the children were very cute, and the scenic view of the country side was very well drawn and captured.
Sound:
It was good, I didn't notice it throughout the film but hey! It's better for it not to be ostentatiously noticeable.
Character:
This was quite a problem. The mother is the ultimate definition of an enabler parent, and it really bothered me how she just let her children act like they did and not enforce any form of punishment. I know it's just a film, but it was so??? it didn't make quite sense how someone who just complied to her children manage to have well-brought up children. Similarly, the aspect of the wolves did not trigger any of the neighbours, which I found peculiar. I feel like the characterisation was a bit off, and unrealistic. I know this film is trying to portray a sweet, family anime but it just didn't make sense.
There was a lot of continuity errors in the film which did not make sense to me, such as when they were frolicking around in the snow wearing summer clothing like it was nothing. There were many other errors which bothered me, and therefore contributed to a bit of an annoyance of the whole show. I won't spoil it, but towards the ending really bothered me on how the mother handled the situation.
Overall, I did enjoy this movie. I definitely will recommend it to others since it just made me feel so happy inside. Aside from the continuity errors, it's still a good film to watch with who you love.

I was curious as to why this is the highest rated anime on the website, and just then I watched the movie and I can say to some extent I can see why it's considered to be well-received.
Story:
There are a lot of loose ends in the story that I have noticed. The overall theme in this narrative is lost love, which is excellently portrayed but I feel like in certain aspects it becomes a bit unnecessary and kind of cliche. However, there overarching story was beautiful, and kinda of played a thrilling role and really engaged me. Ain't gonna lie, I had mad anxiety
...
watching the plot unfold. I feel like they did a really good job at portraying the story - despite it being somewhat cliche, through the art and sound. I just wished they actually spent more effort in certain parts of the overarching narrative rather than the theme 'distant love'
Art:
Art was exceptional. The colours of 'twilight' and the comet was so breath taking. I love how it captures the contrast of the bustling city life and the mundane, cosy country life. The little details drawn to me so much, such as how a character sketches, and food, and the phones within the anime. These little touches really brings the anime to life, and contributed a lot to the enjoyment.
Sound:
The first time I listened to RADWIMPS was a few years ago. I remember I described the music as 'nostalgic, as if you were reminiscing your high-school life', no kidding. When the opening of the anime was played, I knew immediately it was played by RADWIMPS. The band gave the anime the nostalgic feeling of youth, fun and overall nostalgia. The songs they played fit incredible well with the overall genre and theme of high-school slice of life. The other OSTS played beautifully, and overall the sound aspect really drew me in and made me feel so nostalgic about high-school.
Character:
The characterisation is nothing new, and kind of disappointing. With the anime being rated as the highest, I kind of expected them to explore with different character profiles rather sticking to the norm slice-of-life boy meet girl characters. Although none were unpleasant, and was all rather enjoyable. I kinda expected more, especially since the art and sound was hella good.
Enjoyment + Overall:
It was a great anime. I laughed, I almost cried, I held my breath, and I was overall really glad I watched this anime. It was a really nice breath of fresh air. It was a nice, sweet anime that explores a very supernatural concept of time.

Orange is a poignant reminder of the passing of time, the manga itself enlightens oneself about the element of regret, and asks ourselves, if we have the opportunity to change the past, should we? The manga brands itself as a shoujo, however taking a unique perspective with the slice-of-life side.
Story:
The story itself is an element which was endearing to read, high school isn't easy for majority of us and the story line amplified the tumultuous years of high school through the main male protagonist. The story centered more so around the male protagonist and his interaction with his friends, rather than the fluffy relationship between
...
both love interests. I enjoyed the execution of the slice-of-life element, and the easing into the tragedy part of the story.
Art:
The art itself was plausible, nothing out of the ordinary from a shoujo manga. However, I do appreciate the layering of multiple scenes happening at once, it was a smooth transition so it wasn't as confusing.
Character:
The characters, especially the main female protagonist is a cliche stereotype in many shoujo mangas. We are presented with a kind, yet slightly naive girl, and her group of friends. However, the main male protagonist shifts the dynamic of the story and especially the characterisation. We don't normally see the characters focus on anything other than a romance story-line, however in this manga we see each characters focusing desperately to save their friend. At this point is when I realise the manga slowly transitioned from a fluffy romance to a very deep story line on friendships and regret, and melancholic ramifications.
Enjoyment:
I thoroughly enjoyed this manga, especially since it was very refreshing to see a shoujo's manga focus shift from romance to friendship. If anyone is in need to read a manga focusing primarily on friendship, this is a fantastic candidate. The manga made me laugh, cry and smile through each chapter and it was a blessing to read such a sweet story.
Overall:
Overall, this manga is deserved of its praise. I don't recall a manga that has ever made me reflect about the notion of regret, or made me think about the repercussions it may lead in the future. As cliche it may sounds, this manga has changed my view on life and others.

Friendship is a powerful thing between children, never question it. Promising each others loyalty for the rest of their lives, and doing naive things to protect yet prove the undying love between friends. To be blessed with strong bonds between someone to last a life time is so rare and scarce, it's the truly wonderful element about this manga.
I first encountered Gakuen Alice as an anime. The anime itself was cute, refreshing and sweet which had me yearning for more. I didn't end up reading the manga until a few years later, which I'm pretty glad I did. The manga was a huge contrast to
...
the anime, it was more dark and had a lot of mature themes within that you couldn't be sure you were reading the same story. The story divulged more into each main character's story, revealing secrets and hidden back story about the school and the people that run it. The mature elements for a supposedly children's manga really made the series such an original one itself, implementing multiple elements and to create a masterpiece of a manga, one that anyone could enjoy really amazes me.
The art itself was plausible, nothing was out of the ordinary. The way it was drawn really helped with the flow of the story rather than stuttering and hindering the story.
Character development within the story is a huge factor as well and well executed as well, you witness characters changing good to bad, apathetic to empathetic and children growing up faster than they really should.
I thoroughly enjoyed this manga which had me wanting for more, I genuinely expected the longer version of the sweet shoujo anime I saw a few years ago, only to be introduced to more of a intricate written story which surpassed my original expectations, the only criticism I have is the rushed and loose ending it had. Overall, it was a fantastic read which had the perfect balance of love, family, hope, power and most importantly, friendship.

I always wondered to myself about the scarcity of shounen x shoujo anime, after watching this series I found out why.
Sword Art Online during it's release impressed everyone with it's original concept and plot, the hype was astounding which kind of coerced me into watching the series. The first couple of episodes proved it's hype for me, the concept was original and explored the grounds of a general shounen anime with hints of romance between the two main characters.
However, with it's grand debut comes the anticipation for the rest of the series. I was excited about it, I genuinely was because the female protagonist proved
...
to be a promising, strong and empowering character but later turned into a disposable female character yelping like a damsel in distress (main reason for the 2nd season). Along with that, the male character later turns into an angst-y, livid-fuelled character with his main motivation supposedly to beat the game but was primarily formed for his love with the female protagonist. His love later turned into stupidity (reasons including why he's in the 2nd season) and her character turns into the anime's Princess Peach.
There were some plausible parts, which I can understand the popularity it attained during it's first few episodes. Badass action, witty dialogue and a sense of belonging - especially those in the game - some themes were well executed such as humanity, power and anarchy.
If you want a break down: Episodes 1-5 Amazing. 6-11 Tolerable. 12+ Mediocre, highly highly mediocre.
The story itself was in-check but was ruined by these two angst fuelled, teenage love story. The fusion between romance and action can sometimes be blended nicely but in this case, seemed to only be fused for the sake of a wider audience. There were loose plot-holes and things that were never addressed (if it was addressed in the manga, please forgive me) characters with little development and some characters had potential but later cast aside. It's as if the producers put all they're effort in the first few episodes and then continue to ride off the popularity from then on thus putting little effort with the rest.
The art and sound is fair, nothing atypical about it.
Excellent plot, but definitely poorly executed. If you enjoyed this anime, you may have poor taste or just haven't watched enough good ones.

It's very rare to watch an anime that evoked such real emotions with the story telling and the way each of the characters developed in the series. Even though the anime was 11 episodes, the way that each episode complemented each other in such a concise manner didn't fall short of the quality.
If there's anything you should know about it me, it's that I don't cry easily in films, but however this one was like hurling a brick of feelings towards my face. Usually, shows which are dubbed to be "sad" and "it will make you cry I promise" always have me quickly assuming
...
that someone was going to die.
However, having the death been already presented to you from episode one, really leaves your wondering how else the show can leave you in an emotional wrath towards the last episode.
The story that plays out focuses on a group of childhood friends, once separated manage to reunite together with their different current selves because of a single tie that was cut loose too early. Showing how it affected each one of them individually. The story was real, raw and definitely emotional (especially the last few episodes *whew*)
The ability to deliver a story so delicately well-written, and able to pin-point the exact emotions of the death of a loved one hits so well on a personal level which makes me wonder about the ties the writer may have with this anime. Any-one who has seen this anime can relate to the sense of vulnerability of the characters, which makes the film much more enticing and wonderful. The ending to the anime was neatly tied into a little bow, beautifully written and still accomplishing all the aspects that needed to be addressed, leaving nothing untold or left behind.
The characters in the film played well with each other, and were meticulously well written into the film. After the death of their beloved friend, it hit them immensely to the point that it still lingers around them several years later. Certain characters feign acceptance and unresolved issues or answers that hinders them from moving onwards in their lives, being stuck in the past or pretending the past never affected them really goes to show how the crucial the impact was to each and every one of them - not just the main characters - but the people around them was also shown to be affected. The friendship between the characters from then to now, showing the shift between them and overcoming obstacles together is an element of the film which was completely sweet and endearing to watch.
The music played really well within the film, I say the music did manage to evoke more tears than I should. It was sweet, light and really complemented it situation that it prefaced. Art of the film was nothing out of the ordinary, although very nice it wasn't something extraordinarily different.
I sincerely enjoyed this anime very much, I high encourage others to watch this anime. Simply and bitter-sweet.
