Although Hatsukoi is much more of a slice-of-life, both are great romance anime that have a few cliches, but they make them their own. Both can get crazy at times, but their strongest points are the more serious aspects, like the drama and romance. Also, from my own personal experiences, I have found that fans of one series tend to also enjoy the other.
