Before going into this anime, please know that you need to watch the sub. The sub is made to be funny, but it's also incredibly offensive and full of raunchy things. If that is not your kind of show, the sub is fine but the show becomes a very average or below average horror anime.
I give this anime a 9/10 despite all it shortcomings because its straight up the funniest anime I've ever seen no doubt. Just goes to show that Japanese studios should feel more comfortable giving creative freedom to Western dubbers, because they can make a show much more appealing to a Western

This is surprisingly really good. I only write a review because I'm super surprised that nobody is talking about it. Considering just how good it is, I would at least think there'd be a community online for it but nah. Whoever wrote this has a really good understanding of cultures from around the world. The story follows Yugo as he tries to negotiate throughout the world, and he;s a fine MC, but what really makes this show great is the world it builds. TLDR NHK is a flawed anime, but it better encompasses the feelings of hopelessness better than any other media I have ever seen.
The story follows a 22 year old who can't find a way to cope with the hurt of the outside world, so he shuts himself off. He then meets a girl who tries to help him find his path in life, and later an otaku friend who also has similar feelings of hopelessness about modernity but has found ways to cope with it.
